Unfortunately, the one and only trip to Paris I took didn't sit well with me and left a sour after-taste. I'm really in no rush to go back. :\

Paris is an armpit of a city. The historical sights are cool, but the rest is just crowded, grungy, and very blah. There are parts of France that are far more interesting and scenic, IMO.

Have a good time though, Jen. International travel is always fun, even if it is just a hop across the Channel for you. :)

Hehe You guys across the pond think Paris is like some great place to go and stuff, i could be there in like 4 hours by car and 1 and a half hours by plane and it cost me next to nothing really...say 150 dollars.

Then again i guess new york and san franciso is the same for you guys...

Fig speaks the truth. The Parisians are an arrogant self-absorbed bunch, but then most capitol-city inhabitants are. The French people in the rest of the country are very nice, however.

You'd be getting ripped off if you paid that much :p

Driving there would take a REALLY long time. By plane, it'd take more than 2 hours, if the flight was non stop, a ticket to either of those places non-stop is likey to cost me around $400, if not more.

I live in between both of them. :(


I can drive to Dallas in like 6 hours though!

Flying to Paris from LAX will take 9 hours. I know, I did it. I was also squished between two... large people for 9 hours, and didn't get to get up ONCE.

I enjoyed Paris, although I was scared to death half the time I was there. But, it was fun to be there and see all the sights. Spent some time in the south of France too - V. NICE. :D

If I were to drive to San Francisco from here, I'd be going the same distance as you would if you were to drive from the UK to the Caspian Sea. I think it's almost an equal distance from the east coast to the west coast as it is from the east coast to the UK, actually.
