Not sure if it's in the online news yet(hence no link), but I just saw a story about it. Man, what a composer....

I must admit that I am a Trekkie as well as a Star Wars fan, and Jerry Goldsmith did some of the best Trek music, along with (I think) the Planet of the Apes flicks, Patton, and other fairly good movies. Another composer gone off into the Final Frontier :(

I only found out about this news this morning, since I'd been away at Comic-Con. This is sad news indeed, he was one of my favorite movie composers. He rocked.

He will be missed. :(
