Trying to figure out how to tell if one of my websites has been hit by hackers. Is there a way I can tell?

Did they leave a whole bunch of "j00 ownz b17ch!" messages? If so, yeah, you been hit by a script kiddy. Most scripters will leave their tag

Hackers != bad people. Hackers are geeks who like to tinker and play with programs / hardware, push them to limits or invent new ways to use them. Crackers / script kiddys are the ones who break into sites.

Well .. a friend of mine said that when he visited the forums (it seems to be affecting only the forum portion of the website and none of the other pages), he gets like fifty pop up ads. However, there aren't suppose to be any ads or any pop up ads anywhere on the site.

Any way to fix it?
