With only one movie opening.. this looks like a boring box office weekend.. hahaha.. yeah right! :lol
Opening wide in 4000 theaters, and being perhaps the most anticipated movie of the year, one thing is for sure, Spiderman II is going to bring in some major bucks.. but how much? Can it beat its record breaking predecessor?
Edit: Unless I am mistaken, its 5 day results for all movies. Wednesday 30th June to sunday 4th of July. When do people in America get time off from work this week btw? Curious about that.

Spider-Man 2 is going to set some records for sure. I'm not sure if it will beat the predecessor's gross of 114million for the first three days though.

Well it won't beat the three day thing since it opens on Wed. I think people get time off here on Friday, some maybe Monday. Yeah the 4th fell on odd day this year.

I think you might be about right CMJ, I am going to figure out mine later mostly because I am not sure about the rest of the top 10. Some people think that SM could do 200 for the six days (they are counting Monday) not sure if that will happen or not, I think it will do like 150 for the six days at the most, IMO.

I will be offline for the evening, so if Jedi Master Carr could post the wednesday numbers, it would be great

that sounds about right, my five day guess though might be too high, it might do something like that more for the six day weekend. I will try to post actuals but I actually have to go out, I won't be back till tonight I guess I could do it then.

For spiderman? I think my your, mine and everyones guess may be too low actually. It allready made about 65,9 million. It only needs to do 85 million during the 3 day weekend to go above the 150 checkpoint for 5 days..
I personally wish I said 160 for 5 days :)

Well it won't do very well for the 4th, generally during the 4th july weekend most movies do the worst on that day, it will probably do less on Sunday then it did yesterday. I think it depends on how frontloaded it is. If people rushed out to it like they have to other movies then it might do 140-150 for five days and 180 at the most for 6.

SM2 arguably had the highest first day ever (Matrix Reloaded actually took in money for a 26 hour day).

Well, I am just looking at thursday 25 million result, and think to myself I would be very surprised if it makes less than 150, weak sunday or not. If it makes more than 30 million on friday (very likely), I think its fairly safe to say its going to make more than 85 during the weekend. With a saturday boost to near 40 or in the high thirties at least, its hardly going to go below 85 for 3 days. It would then make more than 85 even with a $20 million sunday.
