Baracc Olra'en

Character name: Baracc Olra'en

Character Profile: Flippant and sarcastic about most things, but respects what needs to be respected - power, danger, and opportunities, mainly.

Character History: Born on a planet called Varunda IX, the younger of a pair of twins born at different times by in vitro fertilization - Je'gan Olra'en being his older brother. Varunda IX is populated by a great many races, and genetic diversity is respected and admired. As what amounts to a natural clone, then, he usually glosses over his origins. Clones aren't looked on very well at all where he comes from.

Their parents died in a driving accident three or four years ago. Je'gan was driving at the time, but Baracc harbors almost no bitterness towards him. In fact, they lived together as well as brothers can for about a year, a feat all the more startling for the fact that they each knew they were Force-sensitive (brought on by sensing their parents' deaths). While Je'gan persisted at school and read as much as he could find about the Force, Baracc dropped out of the local high school, which seemed like too much trouble overall. This isn't terribly surprising considering that Varundana high schools are among the roughest in the galaxy. Not to mention that his latent Force powers were causing uncontrollable havoc involving appliances and school supplies. Away from school, he figured, it would be easier to focus on harnessing those powers. This worked after a fashion: few, if any, random disturbances occur anymore, but rather often (he keeps a ratio going in his head) he fails at something simple.

He worked full-time in food services after Je'gan left for TSO. His innate connection to the Force allowed him to survive a trap set for a Varundana DEA patrol, and not long afterwards he decided that a gangster's life would probably work better than his current situation. He hooked up with the marginally impressed perpetrator of the ambush, a mongrel named Alghieri, and became a more-or-less trusted subordinate, responsible for testing and training individuals believed to have Force potential. Alghieri's organization is rather large; Baracc has trained two other gangsters and might be working on a third, save for the fact that she's currently in the early stages of maternity leave. He has served on occasion as an unofficial aide to his Sith brother, helping with a training mission and chastizing an ex-applicant by the name of Micheal Wondo.

Alghieri has recently acquiesced to Baracc's demand for further training, and would rather have a capable friend than a weak subordinate.

Character Motivations: Baracc wishes to gain greater control over the Force (more or less a given), and to become less dependent on the wand and staff he uses for focus. He also wants to peg some gaping holes in his self-training, meaning basically everything except telekinesis and physical enhancement. Just as much, a recent encounter has shown him just how far his brother has risen, and he's slightly jealous.

Character Skills: He's a half-decent martial artist and OK with most bladed weapons. He's had a few pointers with lightsabers, but not much experience at all, and is often in danger of dismembering himself. He has a Grade Eleven education and is a good short-order chef. He owns an ancient speeder bike and is good but not exceptional at piloting small repulsorcraft.

Why should we accept you: Baracc interacts well with others and is a good team player. He hasn't been in a position of power long enough to be very accustomed to command; he can give or receive orders with equal ease.

Do you understand that your application can be rejected: Indeedy.

Have you read the rules: Yep.
