I thought this was a pretty good movie, my favorite in 2004 so far. Yeah, I expect Charley to trash it, or someone else, especially on Vin Diesel, but I think he plays this character extremely well. The plot was interesting, and the ending of the movie.

Kyra (aka jack from pitch black) dying in his arms, his show of emotion, and becoming lord marshall.

was tremendous. And a good cliffhanger. Can't wait for the third and last installment.

Pitch Black was the first, Chronicles of Riddick is the second, and the third isn't yet named (but filming is done.)

As am I. Generally, I go to see a Vin Diesel movie for what it is, a couple hours of sitting back and not really having to think a great deal. I found Pitch Black to be highly entertaining and I imagine I will find this one the same as well. I don't look for Oscar award winning performances. I just go for the heck of it, to sit back, relax, and enjoy the movie.

I can't believe Judi Dench is in this. I'm tempted to go see it.

Pitch Black was a pretty decent film, and was easily Vin Diesel's best role. I'm interested in catching this as soon as I can scrounge up the cash for it.

Also, I believe that the order for all of the Riddick stuff goes like this:

TCOR: Escape from Butcher Bay
TCOR: Pitch Black
TCOR: Dark Fury
The Chronicles of Riddick
[insert title of next movie]

Escape from Butcher Bay is an X-Box game, and a prequel to Pitch Black. And Dark Fury is supposed to be an animated film that fills in the gaps between the two movies a la the Animatrix.

And the X-Box game was really fun. The stealth mode = $. I'll have to check out Dark Fury. Thanks for the ordering there, shawn.

Saw it -- Loved it!

I was surprised at how well it tied the story of Pitch Black to this new movie. :):thumbup

I think "love" is going a bit too far. It wasn't bad; Some of the dialogue was pure cheese, and it could definitely have benefited from another hour or so in length. As it was, they spend 2/3rds of the film in the prison, completely ignoring the main plot of the film.
