Hello there!

Are you at least 18 years old, living in the United States, and interested in purchasing lethal assault rifles?

Then look no further!

www.atlanticfirearms.com

Atlantic Firearms has just what you're looking for.

For instance:
<img src=http://www.panic.hopto.org/swf/charley/ar15.jpg>
This darling little Olympic Arms AR-15 assault rifle can be yours for the low low price of $549.00! Chambered to 5.56mm (.223 caliber) NATO ammunition, this little lady accepts all STANAG-configured magazines, including pre-ban high capacity models. Don't worry mom, its semiautomatic ;)

Next, we have this comely little lass:
<img src=http://www.panic.hopto.org/swf/charley/ak47.jpg>
This is a Romanian-built Avtomat Kalashnikova, model 1947. Brand new and out of the box, it is chambered to the Warsaw Pact intermediate 7.62x39mm round, and comes to you with a pre-ban 40 round banana magazine. Furthermore, additional high capacity magazines can be yours for only $16 each. This sleek kitten can be yours for the unbelievable price of $329.00! Act now and buy two or more with a friend for $309.00 each! You can't pass up on a deal this good! Semiautomatic, because we love the environment too.

Finally, this venerable lady is for our more economical paramilitary members:
<img src=http://www.panic.hopto.org/swf/charley/yugosks.jpg>
This is the one and only Yugoslavian-built SKS assault weapon, featuring a rotating-mount bayonet, as well as a fixture from which to fire grenades. This rifle scares Senator Diane Feinstein so much, that in the People's Republik of Kalifornia, it is banned and classified as a "Destructive Device". For shame, Diane! Of course, I doubt Ms. Feinstein ever took the chance to go to the range with this beauty, who comes with a beautiful wooden stock, and is chambered to the classic commie 7.62x39mm cartridge, and even accepts the same high-capacity magazines that an AK-47 uses. This little darling comes to your doorstep for the must-act-now price of $179.00! If that isn't enough to convince you, talk a buddy into buying one and its yours for the mega-bargain price of $165.00 each! Like all the above choices, this is semiautomatic only, because we like puppies and children.

:cool Such a great way to blow a few hundred bucks :cool

I just can't choose which one I want :D

The SKS appeals to me the most, and has the lowest pricetag. Win-Win.

Hypothetically, I'd go for either the Uzi 9mm Rifle, or the MP5. But seeing as I'm 16 and live in the UK, it won't get any better than hypothetical. :(

Ah, well. When I retire from the military at 36, and move to the states, I'll get myself something...probably a P90, or a PSG-1 (Sniper Rifle).

Shawn

An Uzi? Yech. No, thanks. Maybe a Micro-Uzi... maybe. Myself, I'm all about revolvers. I'm gonna pick me up a Colt Python when I can better afford one.

I'm also interested in purchasing a Raging Bull, as well.

Charley

Uzi?!? :x

Nah. A semi-auto (which is the only affordable option in the states) will still run you $600. You can get a Beretta Storm for around $500, and that gun is lighter, modular, and more accurate and reliable than an Uzi.

Just ask Akrabbim ;)

I will likely end up with one of these, I think.

On top of that, you can often find Soviet Moisin Nagant rifles at gun shows for $70-$80, so if I bagged a Yugo SKS and a Soviet Moisin, that would be :cool

NOTE: I've erred slightly regarding the SKS. It comes standard with a fixed 10 round mag, but there are aftermarket kits in which you can attach large capacity magazines to the weapon, but they aren't interchangeable AK magazines, they're a specialized mag for the SKS itself. Significantly more expensive ($40 as opposed to $16), but still possible.

:o

I'm a fan of Winchesters. If it came down to an assault weapon, however, I'd choose the SIG Commando ;)

Hope you've got a few thousand bucks for that SIG then :)

(P.S. Counterstrike weapons will earn you nothing but pain and LOLs from me)

:) Well, the rifles I've actually shot are mainly 22's and a bushmaster.

I thought we were talking about dream weapons? That's why I mentioned the Commando. By the way, if you cared, it's not just because I used to play CS. I've also read a few articles on the Commando and think it's a very cool blending of tech and skill. Not to mention it looks amazing.

Dan the Man

Well, this is primarily for bargain guns, since few of us if any can shell out the clams for a SIG commando, price tag notwithstanding, as such a gun is LEO/Government/Military only ;)

aren't automatic weapons illegal in the USA? Maybe I'm not thinking straight today, but are Uzis and AK-47s automatic or semi-auto?

EDIT- ahh now i see cause i was pretty sure that an AK-47 had an auto function

Dan the Man
Jun 2nd, 2004, 03:25:07 PM
No, actually. Automatic weapons are quite legal in America.

The issue here is the law, and how complex (and many like myself would add stupid) it all is.

If you want to buy a fully automatic weapon, there are several conditions to meet:

1. The firearm had to have been manufactured before 1986.

2. You need about $200 to pay for the Federal Class III tax stamp.

3. You need however many thousands of dollars that particular firearm will cost, as its gonna be EXPENSIVE. Not only because of a small supply, but also because weapons milled to be automatic use a higher quality of milled steel in the receiver.

From that point, you go through a series of hoops to jump through, and spend anywhere from six to nine months while you cut the red tape. That, and a few thousand dollars later, and you're a lisenced owner of a Class III firearm capable of automatic rate of fire. You'll also likely be registered with your local law enforcement and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. If that's your cup of tea, go for it. But for most, its just too much time and money.

For those of us who can't afford Class III firearms and the hassles inherent, there are several manufacturers out there who offer semiautomatic versions of their assault weapons. Thus, what we have here :)

HERE'S a thread I HAVE to show Joe!

Charley
Jun 2nd, 2004, 04:03:31 PM
Rie, keep in mind on that SKS, if Joe's interested in getting it, he'll have to pay extra to have the grenade launcher adapter removed from the gun, so that it will be California-legal.

Not sure about the AR-15 or the AK-47, but those should still be legal to own in Cali.

AmazonBabe
Jun 2nd, 2004, 04:59:59 PM
And Joe's response:

I'd probably rather get the AK-47... to make up for the one I didn't smuggle from Poland.

Also, I knew someone who owned an (illegal) full-auto AK-47 in California.

I should convince Dave (my brother) to get one as well so we can get the discount.

So, yeah, I'd say he's interested. :lol

Okay, here's something for you then:

This is a really good deal, IMO. Wolf ammo is kinda filthy, and low on the totem pole of quality ammo, but a Kalashnikov can most definitely eat dirty ammo and come back for more. I'd either grab Wolf, or look for some original communist milsurp, if you want to go for the nifty green tracer effect :cool

Here's a list of the closest FFL dealers to where you live. I'd suggest you giving them a call and discussing what they might charge for holding an AK-47 for you through an online purchase. Should be roughly 20-30 bucks, and then add on the shipping & handling of $20 on top of that.

I just remembered, doesn't Saurron work in Wal Mart sporting goods?

If so, you might wanna give him a call. I'm not sure if Wal Mart can or does act as an FFL (I'm thinking no), but he might have a connection over there that is a FFL, and if he shmoozes correctly, he might be able to get the FFL fee waived on your gun orders. This is a long shot, but its worth it to try.

Oh man, I got all excited when I saw this thread ... then I read this
living in the United States which sucks for me because I live in the communist country of California and they don't beleave in weapons, protecting yourself or your rights, because guns are bad and they kill people. :rolleyes :mad

The SKS's are pretty nice, I've had two. Though I prefer I larger round, such as a .308.

*sigh*

I'd own anyone of those, get the AR with a nice high capacity drum. ;)

Why own a legal weapon when illegal is so much funner. :D Laws are meant to be broken, lol.

Do they have any M14's?

Not sure about the AR-15 or the AK-47, but those should still be legal to own in Cali.

Guns are still legal in Cali? woot!

Anyways, I know the AR is still legal in Cali, though rear and extremely hard to get. They have to meet a bunch of criteria to be legal. I'm not entirely sure about the AK, I'll have to check on that.

I was in my local gun shop / gunsmithing place, getting work on my Henry-action Marlin model 1894 30-30 repeater (They couldn't fix the jam and referred me elsewhere :mad), and I found myself distracted by two beauties hanging on the wall.

They had a Yugo SKS (bayonet included) for $165

In addition, they had an AK clone variant with a folding stock. :cool

Now, I'm not sure if the stock is actually capable of folding (Some models like this get their hinges fuzed to be compliant with the assault weapons ban :verymad), but if it is, it's an ABSOLUTE STEAL at the price its going for, $365.

Man, I wish I wasn't so poor right now :(

Charley
Jul 5th, 2004, 09:56:44 AM
I double-checked the SARI Paratrooper AK-47 they had at Southeastern Guns, and the stock on it is configured in a way that it will not fold, to comply with the 1994 ban :mad

Oh well.

However, they had a Romanian WASR-10 AK-47 for $319, which I'm seriously considering buying. The only thing I'd have to worry about on those is making sure the wood finish on the stock and foregrip is okay.

I also got to check out their $165 Yugoslavian SKS. Apart from being smeared in cosmoline (an anti rusting and anti weathering goo), it was in great shape. The action worked well, and I even tried out the bayonet :cool. The bayonet itself is unsharpened, but the swivel mechanism works like a dream. I imagine if I wanted to put an edge on it, I could.

And just when I thought it couldn't get any better:

<a href=http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/Romanian_AK_WASR_10_7_62x39_Rifle.html>Romanian WASR 10 AK-47 for $289</a>

<a href=http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/copy_of_SKS_Yugo__Yugoslavian_M59_66_SKS_7_62x39_R ifle.html>Yugoslavian SKS for $109</a>

Mother of God.

Dream weapons, eh?

AN-94s are nice, but a TAR-21 would do it for me.

Sanis Prent
Jul 6th, 2004, 11:01:50 PM
AN-94's are okay, but their 5.45x39mm round kinda defeats the whole purpose of getting an AK, which is a sturdy, dependable rifle with an unbeatable economy of scale, as Warsaw Pact 7.62x39mm is so damnably easy to find, and for very cheap.

As for the TAR-21...:x

Its a non-proprietary design, riced out around a bullpup frame. No way, Jose.

Then again, I really don't like bullpup configuration at all. Anything that forces you to shoot with the buttstock on a particular shoulder is just too cumbersome for field use.

Sohei
Jul 7th, 2004, 12:00:46 AM
So you're not too partial to the SA-80A2s then, huh? The bullpup design is meant to shorten the length of the rifle, and make it easier for the soldier to handle, in theory.

And I can't argue the pros of the TAR, seeing as how the IDF hasn't totally integrated it and it hasn't been through extensive field use. However, it was issued to the Givati Brigade and they gave it two thumbs up after Operation "Defensive Shield".

There's a saying that goes "You can't polish a turd".

I fully believe it applies here. The SA-80 is just too flawed a design to begin with. No amount of external contracting to H&K is really gonna help it. Though arguably "ten times" as good as the original SA-80, SA-80A2's still have a lot to overcome. If I were management at Enfield, I'd swallow my medicine and get back to designing a modern rifle that isn't a fixed ejector bullpup.

It might be forgivable if this was a Balkan state that was making this kind of error, but this is the British main battle rifle we're talking about here. They really deserve better.

Can' t argue with you there, but there haven't been any major faults found with the SA80A2, even after Gulf War II. Plus I've never actually fired one, much less been in a combat zone with one, so this is all conjecture.

I'll leave it at this: the mistakes with the original SA80 were mistakes that shouldn't have been made in a military like the UKs. It'd be as if the US military's new Stryker Brigades didn't have adequate armor :|

But the SA80 is still fixed with the ejector port facing right, IIRC.

Even if the other glitches are fixed, this is such a heinously crappy setup to have. You have to teach your lefties to shoot righty, lest they eat their own spent brass.

Apparently, the British MoD thought that mobility was more important than accuracy amongst their left-handed soldiers.

It goes beyond that, however.

A bullpup more or less demands that you fire your weapon from a certain shoulder only. While most of the modern bullpups allow the ejector port to be switched to the other side, this involves field stripping the weapon, which is something you do not want to do in a live fire situation.

For soldiers on the battlefield, who are doing fire & maneuver activities and advancing behind cover, this is especially frustrating, when you consider that if you're restricted to which shoulder to fire from, that in certain situations, you have to expose yourself to fire from cover, which I think is a much greater problem than dealing with a measly few inches of total rifle length.
