I got a question, Marcus takes Mojo's picks every week, shouldn't Mojo be playing and not him. Not only that he doesn't even bother to go to BOM and get the numbers himself. I am not trying to be harsh but that seems just weak, I could see it if it was occasionaly done as he may be busy that weekend for some reason, but an every week occurence just seems stupid and silly to me.

Because I'm busy and dont really follow the box office and I've always done it to a degree. No one else complains. Every now and then IF I have the time, i throw my own pick in. If you weren't a newbie here, you would know this.

What difference does it make if I am a newbie or not, the point is your not making your own picks ever. Nothing you said changes that fact. I wasn't trying to be harsh but if your not going to be making your own picks and instead always using someone elses picks then you really shouldn't be playing. I said I could uinderstand if occasionally you didn't have the time to make your own picks but your just saying I am Box Office Mojo by never making your own picks.

If he actually ever won a contest there'd probably be more complaints. It just proves Box office guru's are no better than we are. ;)

Then why doesn't he make his own picks and use BOM only if he is pressed for time. In 4 weeks and 40 overall picks he has made 0 picks of his own. I am not really complaining I am just flumoxed as why anyone would play a game where they did absoulty zero of the work.

-_-

I dont take this competition seriously at all - it's for crap and giggle as far as I'm concerned. It's also interesting to see just how good the "experts" are compared to us.

If you dont like my attitude to the competition - which I stress is one of who cares, it's just a lark - take it up with me on PM. No one else over the years has raised a concern.

Ok. ok I am not trying to be mean, i was just trying to find a reason you didn't do your own picks, lets just leave it at that.

Yeah Marcus hasn't really done that well. He came in second one year in the holiday time and that is the best he has ever done, it shows Mojo knows less than some of us here.

The 'impressive performance' award once again goes to Shrek 2. There is no doubt in my mind it will hit the 400 million mark. And that tells a lot. Animated family movies traditionally have strong legs, and a well received movie like this should be no exception.

Raising Helen opened about as expected, maybe a little poorer than some people expected. The market has been saturated with these kinds of movies lately. Soul Plane flopped a slight bit, but what can you expect with light marketing and on 1500 theaters. It looks meh too.

Other than that, the other movies perfomed about as I expected, except 13 going on 30 and breakin' all the rules. When was the last time friday results looked about the same as thursday result. Beats me. But it looks like I still have a lot to learn about box office. I have to work on predicting those #6-10. But kudos to ReaperFett for starting off this contest so well :)
