Episode III Release Dates Announced
May 25, 2004
Where will you be on May 19, 2005? As a Star Wars fan you can't answer "I don't know!" because you will likely be at the movies watching the last Star Wars film ever, Episode III.
The film will have a near-simultaneous release around the world on Thursday, May 19, 2005; however, in Japan, Episode III will be released in July which is the traditional month for Star Wars premieres in that country.
Exact information for other countries outside of the U.S. and Canada will be coming shortly, so keep checking back for full details as May 2005 approaches.
With the release of Episode III, the six-part Star Wars saga will be complete and the story of the Skywalker family will be all told. Almost thirty years in the making, here is a look back at the North American release dates of the five previous Star Wars movies.
(Ask you parents where they were on May 25, 1977 and see what they say...)
Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope - May 25, 1977
Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back - May 21, 1980
Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi - May 25, 1983
