In business news today, we cannot help but look into the eyes of the Empire.

The Xucphra Corporation, one of the largest bacta conglomerates in the galaxy, announced another price hike today, bringing the price to 119.92 credits per litre. This is a record number, the highest price in ten years. However, it is still a far cry from the 277 credits per litre just after Endor, fifty years ago.

A spokesman had this to say:

" Profits have been up, but increased taxing edicts from the Government have shortened the overall margin between profit and overhead. To keep the gap standard, the board approved the price-lift."

Stock analysts recorded an amazing increase in trading of Xucphra sales as a result of this notice. They were not alone, however, as share prices for Xaltin and Thyssen-Krupp, the other two bacta magnates, increased as well.

Accompanying this announcement was a sidelined Imperial Mandate curtailing even more sales to Republic affiliated sources. Officials from the Imperial Ministry of Commerce did note that a small decrease in sales would be noted but that all bacta companies would receive small tax-liens to compensate.

Republic officials were unavailable for comment. It is known, statisitcally, that the shortage of bacta in the Republic is growing more and more severe. Due to a lack of subsitutes and the old inefficiency of alhazzi, black market prices are thought to be well over two hundred per litre.

Now onto sports...
