Quay'Na Rakai
May 16th, 2004, 03:33:36 PM
Quay'Na Rakai slipped out the back door of Dexter's, dressed entirely in black. It was late and she had a mission to complete. A personal one.

Once around the corner and into another alley, Quay brought out a crumpled letter that she had received two weeks prior, one that had sent her over the edge as she read it.

But, it was then that she had been able to control her loathing and keep a lid on the fact that Brent Yagher would pay one day.

That day had arrived. Tonight, this Lost Padawan would claim her revenge. Quay would not allow this woose of a man to take another drugged and unwilling victim into his liar.

No, he would be stopped and it was time to end this ugly cherade of his. Quay'Na Rakai would make sure of it.

Brent Yagher would pay tonight.

Quay'Na knew Brent and she knew his realm of bars he often could be found at. Stuffing the letter back into her pocket, Quay continued on. Bar by bar, she bagan her search.

It was then that she entered a bar called 'Astoria', the place was booming at the late hour. All were drinking, smoking, dancing to the music or playing sabbacc. All, but...Brent.

Quay'Na spied him almost immediately up by the bar with two females hanging on each arm, both glassy eyed.

Her blood boiled wondering if it was by their own stupidity or by him drugging their drinks. Closing her black cloak a bit tighter around her, she marched right over to him.

"Imagine that, the Great Brent Yagher with two females in tow." She said with an heart piercing stare. "I almost thought you'd have a third and fourth waiting in line." Quay said as she glanced around. "Or are these the lucky ones?"

Brent was taken aback by his former girlfriends arrival and she looked none too pleased.

He quickly collected himself and gave her a smirk. "Quay, what a fiesty one you've turned into since our parting. No doubt sensually frustrated, we've been apart a while now. Drink, perhaps? To bring back old times?" He held out a flute of red liquid towards her. His scheming eyes staring as he raised an eyebrow in her direction.

Quay was having none of it. With one quick swat, she knocked the drink from his hands and it crashed to the floor. "I don't think so, not tonight."

She looked at the two females on his arms. "You ladies, should leave while the getting is good. Because, Mr. Yagher will not be having any takers for his bed tonight." She advised them. "Go, now!"

The Force aided her in the command and without a second thought, they ladies excused themselves.

"Still up to your old tricks, I see." Quay said as she looked back at Brent.

"Quay'Na , Quay'na , Quay'Na...now that wasn't the bravest of moves." He snapped his fingers and two rather large men appeared beside him. "You see, I knew you'd come. You couldn't resist after my letter I sent you."

Brent stood up in front of her. "Such a sweet thing you were, but all good things come to an end, my dearest Quay." He touched her cheek and laughed. "Even Jedi can be broken."

The Padawan jerked away from his touch. "Don't flatter yourself, Brent. You may have had me once, but never again." She told him as her eyes narrowed.

"And who are these brutes?" She motioned towards the body guards. "Bodyguards? Do you really think they will save you against my wraith? I think not. You speak as if you are high and mighty, you are nothing but a snake in the grass. Slithering nowhere, but into my grasp. You're taunting isn't going to help you now."

Quay got closer and looked him right in the eye. "You are afraid of me." Her tone was full of anger and taunting in her own way.

"So certain you sound. Your wraith? Now, I should be taking that as a threat, hmmm? No, because it's you who is going to leave, Quay. I'm merely minding my own business and maybe my two friends here could kindly escort you out."

The two men stepped closer to Quay and made an attempt to grab her arms.

The Padawan knew what they were going to do even before they did it. She sidestepped, brought out both of her sabre's and in a quick downward motion sliced off a hand from each of Brent's henchmen. They let out a scream in agony and hit the ground, holding their handless stumps.

She on Brent in an instant as he tried to run. "I don't think so." She held a sabre blade to his throat as the entire bar hushed.

"Now, you and I are going outside to finish this." Quay's voice was demanding nonetheless.

Brent's eyes grew wide. He was very well aware that she was quick, but this act she had just done was merciless.

The blade appeared just centimeters from his neck as he tried to make a run for it. "Now, Quay. We can be rational about this." He was grabbing for words.

"Everyone in here just saw you cleave off these guys hands, I'm sure no one wants trouble."

A crowd had begun to form around them.

"Save it for the judge, Brent! You are nothing, but a pathetic bastitch!" She grabbed him by the back of the collar and gave him a shove.

"Back off!" She seethed towards the growing crowd. "This is Jedi business!! Go back to your drinks!!"

Brent fell slightly against a bar stool and fumbled around for a second. But, Quay was on him in seconds and haulling him outside.

The young man skidded to a halt outside and put his hands up in front of him.

"Now, Quay. Let's be sensible about this, I know you're angry but..."

Quay's sabre's were still drawn as the two proceeded outside. "Shut up!! You don't know that half of what you've done! Into the alley, now! Before I cut you into tiny peices!"

She shoved him against the alley wall, where he collided with some trash cans and fell into a heap.

"Get up! Get up!!" She yelled as she kicked him in the ribs hard, with her boot.

Brent gasped and tried to crawl away.

"Oh, not such a tough guy now, huh!?!" Quay asked as she shut down one of her sabre's and clipped it to her belt. She held the other towards him.

"You just think you're so smart, drugging women...taking advantage of them!!" Quay'Na kicked him in the groin as hard as she possibly could. "No more!"

She's gonna kill me... Brent thought as he took the hit to his groin. He thought he was going to be sick as he curled up into a ball and lay there gasping for air.

"You are a coward!" Quay told him, her voice thick with anger and hatred. "You deserve a slow, painful death! One at which you will rot in your own stench for what you've done!"

Quay'Na kicked him again and heard him whimper.

But, this time, kick had done something to her. A razor sharp pain shot across her abdomen. Quay breathed against it.

"You...have caused enough pain..." She held the blade at his throat. Her own hatred began to taunt her.

One quick slash and you'll have won!

Saadya Khalil-Na'Mir
May 16th, 2004, 08:54:45 PM
Saadya had seen her one other time, it was the same woman from the diner two weeks ago, he knew it was her. He could feel it, but she wasn't the same.

She had changed and he was quite impressed with her quick reflexes and her sabre use. A Jedi.

Saadya had only read upon these great creatures of the Force. He himself was a Forceweilder, but nothing quite to the lengths of what she was obviously capable of. "She's quite impressive." He said to his two Royal Guardians.

"Yes, m'Lord."

The crowds seemed to swell as the Jedi forced the man outside, the Prince of Sha'Karr could barely get through the crowds to exit, but once he finally did. The Jedi was gone.

Saadya's guardians caught up with him. "She's gone, let's go back in." He told them.

The three were about to re-enter the bar, when they heard her voice in the alley. Saadya quickly made his way there and saw her, she was going to kill him!

He also saw that she was...in pain. What had this man done to her or rather her child!?! "M'Lady, wait!"

Quay'Na Rakai
May 17th, 2004, 03:25:24 AM
The Dark ones voice cleared Quay's thoughts as she looked down and saw what she was very well capable of. She was so close to making her first kill.

Another pain took her breath away as she flicked off her sabre.

"Consider yourself lucky, Brent. You pathetic animal! You aren't even worth my time killing."

Quay stood as best she could considering the pain she was having as Saadya arrived. "Do you always follow around waitresses you meet in diners?" She asked as she took a step forward and another pain hit. "Ugh..." Quay felt her knees grow weak.

The Desert Prince rush over to her. "Your child is in danger, let me help." He said as he easily lifted her into his arms, he was slightly surprised she didn't put up a fight.

"Which med facility, should we take you?" He asked as he began walking towards the entrance of the alley.

The two guards quickly followed.

"An air limo..." Quay breathed heavily. "I had almost pictured a horse-drawn chariot. Coruscant Med behind the Jedi Temple. Please hurry."

She lay in his arms as she felt the limo begin to take off.

Saadya nodded and gently wiped a way a line of perspiration that had formed on her forehead. He knew she was in pain, but she was doign her best to hide the fact.

"I suggest, you wait a bit before kicking one so hard...while you're in such a delicate state. You could've done a lot of damage...to yourself or the baby." He smiled down at her.

Quay'Na Rakai
May 20th, 2004, 03:44:01 PM
"Yeah, I'll....ugh..." She winced and grit her teeth. "If I lose this baby, I will kill him."

Quay closed her eyes and fell into the Force, allowing it to flow around her, through her, to her baby.

A son. A little boy.

Quay'Na smiled briefly as she found this out. Her son

"It'll be alright, it's going to be alright." She mumbled as she took herself deeper into the Force to nearly an unconscious state.

The Padawan didn't hear the limo stop and didn't feel Saadya as he carefully lifted her and ran her into the emergency room.

Quay'Na was completely oblivious to everyone and everything around her. She never felt the needles going into her arms to stop the premature labor or the fact that she was being admitted.

All Quay was focused on was the Force cushion she had enveloped her child in. Her son. That was all that mattered.

Saadya sighed and waited along with his Royal Guardians in the med centers waiting room. He had no idea what was going on, but he wasn't leaving by any means.

Unseen, a black cat stared at the door Quay had gone through. The cat had managed to go through the air scrubber ducts and was behind a grill, sitting quietly and watching intently with it's yellow eyes, unblinking. Strange two legs were about, they had taken Quay-hawk in here.

When she finally felt that her son was safe again, Quay slowly brought herself back into a state of consciousness.

She opened her eyes and blinked at the dimly lit room. All was quiet except for a nurse checking her IV's. "Ah, you're awake." She spoke softly.

Quay's hand rested on the familiar lump of her child as she noticed her clothes had been stripped and replaced by a med gown. "I need my clothes so I can leave." She said as she began to throw back the covers.

"Miss, you can't leave right now. You're still having treatment and you need rest."

"My baby is fine, he's no longer in danger..." She nearly fell to the floor, her legs didn't seem to want to hold her.

The nurse caught her and let out a cry for help, momentarily two orderlies came in and lifted the Padawan back into bed.

Quay gave up any fight to try and leave. It would wait until in the morning.

Since meeting the young woman a couple of weeks ago, he had become rather fond of her. Mentally, he was connected to her and he suddenly felt as if she were in danger and rushed into the room, his sword drawn.

His Royal Guardians were at his heels, swords drawn as well.

"Hey! Hey! Hey!" One of the Orderlies yelled as he saw the band of warriors enter with their swords drawn.

"Saadya, it's alright. There's no harm here." Quay'Na said as she looked at him.

Saadya walked over to her and placed his sword back in it's sheath. "I thought you were being hurt, m'lady."

Stig

The air ducts also lead to the room where Quay-Hawk was. The cat silently moved through them, finding one that ended in a grill at floor level. He paused, watching all of the feet moving about. He tested the grill and to his surprise found it was a simple hinged one. Probably for cleaning or the fact no one expected something to come through.

With alsoute silence and stealth, he got into the room, then dashed under her bed. It was clean. He paused, looking at the covers draped over the edges. Hmmm. Set of legs by the bed. This would be difficult..... if he was alone in this.

Over ont he other side of the room, a chair tipped up, distracting attention for a critical moment. The cat made it's move - like a streak of black lightnig, it was up and under the cvers before anyone turned around. It startled Quak-Hawk, but she recognised Stig and seemed happy to hide the animal.

Under the covers and against he side, Stig began to purr quietly. It was like a signal - your got Stig to look out after you now.

As well as the other set of eyes that shared the cat's. Someone who wasnt all that happy.

Marcus-Cat is coming, Quay-Hawk! He's not happy Quay-Hawk got all hurt

Quay'Na looked at Saadya with a slight smile. "I'm fine, just getting really tired. Must be the drugs they given me. You don't have to stay, I'm in good hands and the labor has stopped. Thanks for helping me."

Saadya nodded. "We'll be in the waiting room if you need us, m'lady."

He turned and walked out, leaving Quay alone with Stig. The Padawan sighed. It seems my master knows when things are happening. Nothing gets by him, does it?

Quay'Na closed her eyes, she was getting tired. With the Force, she one last time gently touched her son, then all faded.

It was deepest night. Quay was sleeping, so she didnt notice the cat pick it's ears up, then pay attention to a slight scratching at the window. Something moved, then the lock moved slightly. Sliently, the window opened, letting in a small breeze. A black figure came inside, moving with total silence. The window closed as quietly as it opened.

The figure moved over to the prone body of the Jedi. A armour clad hand reached out and touched her forehead. Stig stretched out, then sat up.

"Go look out, Sitg. I dotn wish to be disturbed"

The cat mewed quietly, then in a small breath of air was gone. The Jedi Master removed his hand from Quay's head, stood up and removed the black helmet to reveal a worried face.

"Wake now, Quay" he said gently.

May 26th, 2004, 06:48:57 AM
The Padawan stirred slightly and opened her eyes. It took a few moments for the fuzziness to clear from the drugs given.

"Master...Stig told me you were coming. I'm sorry, I let my emotions run wild and..." A tear ran down her cheek. "I nearly killed him tonight...both of them."

Quay'Na lay a hand upon her stomach and felt movement within her.

Marcus Telcontar
May 26th, 2004, 07:12:11 PM
"Yes, I know. Stig's been alternating between watching you and Natia. I like to keep my eye on you two, you seem to like to get into trouble"

He smiled, to let her know he wasnt mad at her. Just concerned with her health.

"Who was the man whom bought you here? A friend?"

Quay'Na Rakai
May 26th, 2004, 07:39:00 PM
Quay nodded. "Yes, Master. His name is Saadya Khalil-Na'Mir, he's from a desert planet called Sha'Karr. I met him a couple of weeks ago while I was helping Dex in the diner and we just keep running into each other. I know he looks dark and deceiving, but that doesn't seem to be the case with him. I can feel it."

The Padawan paused for a minute. "He's a prince, though he doesn't really want anyone to know that. But, it's not hard to guess with the guards that trail him constantly."

"I don't think Brent Yagher's going to be sending me anymore letters after tonight, Master." She added on a different note and then smiled slightly. "I don't mean to be trouble."

Marcus Telcontar
May 27th, 2004, 04:13:13 AM
"Now hang on, dark and decieving is my scthick, Cant have anyone else doing that. And believe me, I'd rather see you alive. So if you do get any more letters, reach out with your mind, take a nice gentle grip... them crush his nuts with your mind."

Ouch

"Mind telling me what that was about, anyway?"

Quay'Na Rakai
May 27th, 2004, 03:51:23 PM
"He sent this taunting letter to my dad two weeks ago, he trying to put a bandage on, where a tournique is needed. Brent is trying to make me believe that I wanted him and that I hurt him because I've not been there and he doesn't think he can trust anymore because of me. It just rubbed me the wrong way and I swore I'd show him the meaning of what he did."

She paused for a moment and then smiled. "I scared the crap out of him..." The smile faded. "I would have killed him, the thoughts were rampaging through my mind, Master. Dark thoughts, because I know I'm not the only one."

She sighed. "He drugged two girls tonight, but I...stepped in."

Marcus Telcontar
May 31st, 2004, 03:27:35 AM
"Did he now" Marcus said, a slightly dangerous note on his voice. "And what was his intentions to those he drugged?"

Quay'Na Rakai
May 31st, 2004, 05:55:53 AM
"To incapacitate them enough to take them somewhere and take advantage of them, he's a real smooth character, Master. But, his plan didn't work tonight."

Marcus Telcontar
May 31st, 2004, 06:56:13 AM
"And you left him alive? I would have gutted him. But then again, I'm not exactly human. Sometimes, your ways puzzle me, even if I've walked amongst you for over a century. why do you humans tolerate such scum to live?"

It was probably the first time Marcus had ever openly admitted he was a non human to his Padawan. Sometimes, he seemed to fit in so well, but other times, something just didnt seem right.

Quay'Na Rakai
May 31st, 2004, 03:57:29 PM
He had never said it, but Quay knew there were things about her master that one just simply did not question and that was one of them. But, truly it didn't matter to her, it only made her want to respect him more. He'd been around the block a few times, so she knew she could learn so much from him. But, tonight...she failed him.

"I should have, Master, but my conscience and Saadya...well, more or less the pain stopped me. At that moment, the only thing I could think of was...my son." She sighed deeply.

"I'm sorry I failed you, Master. I should have finished the job and now because I didn't, he's still out there."

imported_Marcus
May 31st, 2004, 06:37:31 PM
"Eh? Failed me? What in the Force do you say that?" he asked, surprised. "You made a choice - maybe not one I would have done, but I'm not pregnant, am I? Plus... you are human. It's this thing called mercy that defines a human, if i have it right. I dont understand such things, it's not in my nature nor of my race."

He smiled, as he glanced out the window, into the night.

"You humans also tend to be shortsighted. You want immediate results. I dont think you failed at all - your just not taking the long term view. Humans are so impatient, but maybe it's because your not the most long lived race in the Galaxy"

Quay'Na Rakai
May 31st, 2004, 09:06:03 PM
His response was more than surprising, she was sure he was going to be mad at her or not understand why she did what she did or didn't do.

"I just want to go home and forget about Brent Yagher, but I don't know that I can do that. The memory of seeing him in that bar with two women that were obviously his next victims haunts me. I just don't know if I can just let that pass."

It was a battle the padawan knew she couldnt' fight. Her present condition and her body just couldn't take it. It was frustrating.

A few moments later, she nodded. "He's usually around the bars on Ambrosia Avenue." She sent her master a telepathic picture of him.

"I never want my son to know who his father was."

Quay had never told him this, it was part of her past that she never wanted to remember. The night they had gone out, the dinner, the dancing and then he drugged her.

Tears fell down her cheeks as she nodded. "Yes, Master. That evil man is the father of my son."

Quay looked away from him. "It never should have happened." Her voice was filled with pain, regret and shame.

"If I don't stop him, I'll never be able to live with myself knowing what he's done and what he still doing. I want it to end and I never want to look back on it again." Her voice was stronger now, she knew what she needed to do. "Justice will indeed be served, Master."
