I dont follow it too much, but I've heard much about the new Half Life 2 high res video, and just recently a new video popped up.... Counterstrike on the Source engire(HL2's engine), in the level Aztec. I've heard it looks like you're watching a movie, and its all ingame. Anyone see it yet? Anyone know any other dirt?

Wow they're making Zelda normal again minus the cel shading, woooo! "Metroid Prime 2: Echos" looks aweeeeeeesome too.

I'll acknowledge that HL2 is a technologically superior game...

...but I never liked the feel of Half Life, nor the story. Space Aliens don't do it for me. ^_^;

...Who? What? The FAF?

I've always like strange games, like Harpoon, Mechwarrior (Okay, it's sorta an FPS...), and Superpower. On the rare occasion I find an FPS that I like, I'll play it until I get bored of it. Right now, I play Freespace 2 with my squadron in China, a game that could probably run on a Voodoo card, forget about a Radeon. :lol

Absolutely nothing wrong with Freespace 2.

HL was a remarkable game for its time.

The only thing this E3 really did for me was soothe most of my fears about Thief 3. The new Zelda game looks fantastic, especially since I didn't dig the cell shading

I suppose I can't disagree with that statement. HL ushered in a new era of PC gaming, and both set forth new ideas and improved on the old ones.

I'm off to kill some Shivans. :D

http://www.coruscantcity.net/articles/E3_2004/ has the CCnet pics of the event. I really liked Halflife 2 and the Vampire the Masquerade game made from the HL2 engine. 350 fully voiced characters who react to you based on your appearance and a nice RPG stats engine.

Wow, it looks like it must have been so cool to be there.

I didnt like HL's story too much either, but it was a good story, just not my style. And it did revolutionize FPS's, if not all PC games at the time. So I'm hoping HL2 does the same and changes the way we look at FPS's, bringing in a whole new era of nex-gen games. I dunno, maybe I'm overestimating it :rolleyes.

I'm more excited about the new possibilities with the Source engine for the mod community, and the multiplayer. I cant WAIT for Counterstrike 2.

Yes, the Engine is what interests me most. If anything, that will be what launches gaming into a new era. I also like the voice-synching technology.

I can. Unless all of my friends in China and Japan upgrade their PCs like mad, I'll be stuck playing CS2 on American servers with 500 ping. :lol
