Hey kiddies. My best pal is getting married soon. Her shower and bachelorette party is this weekend. I want to give her a homeade CD of the cheesiest love songs one can find. I need help; can't think.

I Honestly Love You - Olivia Newton John
Endless Love - Lionel Richie & Diana Ross
Anything by Michael Bolton (I Said I Loved You, But I Lied, etc.) or Kenny G
I Will Always Love you - Whitney Houston
My Heart Will Go On - Celine Dion (Hey, wait I like this one.)

I need more... my friend likes rap and hip-hop, she isn't into this stuff at ALL. It makes it great.

Help?

Hello - Lineol Richie
Going to the Chapel - No idea
Unchained Melody - Righteous Brothers

anything Michael Bolton or Celine dion will be more than suitible. Go through the Motown catalogue too, there'll be some incredibly bad songs in there.

Otherwise, I can brave the Lovesong dedication station here and get some right doozies.

This must be Love by Phil Collins

There's way worse by Collins than that!

Yes Fig. Is there one where he talks alot. Like "Hey baby, you know I'm the one you want... and when I get you in my velvet room, I'm gonna..." blah blah.

That reminds me - Boys II Men!

The Greatest Love of All, Whitney Houston
You Light Up My Life, Debby Boone

Yes!

Every Rose has It's Thorn. Is that what is it called? Is it Poison that sings it?

Figrin D'an
May 4th, 2004, 07:25:04 PM
Patience is actually a decent song, though. At least in my opinion. :|

You guys have said Lionel Richie, yet failed to mention "Do It To Me One More Time." :lol

If you want 70's and 80's rock, what about "Feels Like the First Time" by Foreigner? Or anything by Whitesnake? Or "Can't Fight This Feeling" by REO Speedwagon?

Correct.

There's always stuff by Marvin Gaye, too. I mean, I like his stuff, but "Let's Get It On" is just way too funny to pass up, given the context.

Ryla and Mitch: think cheesy. Think pastel colors, soap operas, blurry camera treatments, and fuzzy sweaters.

Easy E - Gimme That Nut (for you two).

OMG Marcus, I think Meatloaf is the ultimate cheesy love song. We'll put it at the beginning and END of the CD (for an encore!).

Good one.

Ryla, yeah that's REAL cheesy!

All good. Some are not so cheesy though.

Together Forever by... by... uhm... Rick Astley? Or Never Gonna Give You Up by the same.

Cutting Crew - I Just Died in your arms Tonight.

Marcus Telcontar

I'm not sure if this is cheesy as you want, but one song I just thoughtof that can bring out the groans and people trying to cover their ears is the "Shoop Shoop" song. Cher did a cover for it.

"every breath you take" - The Police

"You are so Beautiful" - 70's version that's... ehhh, it defies description

"Nights in White Satin" - 60's song, this one fits all too well and by the end, you'll be gagging with it's coying sweetness

Elton John also had some doozies - "Can you hear the Love tonight" is one that unfortunantly sticks out. "No sacrifice" also is gagging in it's cheesiness. In fact, you could make an entire albumn of cheesy love songs by Elton John and you'd have done what you want.

I thought it was "Can you Feel the Love Tonight" from the Lion King, by Elton John.

:cry I <3 that song!
