I have a new ship idea and just am putting it here for organization. Ther specs are;

-Name-
---SA-89
-Vehicle Class-
---Planetary Transport
-Dimensions-
---Height:15ft
---Width:15ft body, 25ft wingspan
---Length:55ft
-Passengers-
---2 pilots (1 pilot, 1 weapons controller)
---15-20 soldiers/3 manned speeders
-Propultion Type-
---Repulsors
-Vehicle Speed-
---Mobile- 500MPH(when closed) - 0MPH
-Maximum Altitude-
---1,000 feet (debateable)
-Vehicle Armor Rating-
---(7-8 RU) can deflect small arms fire and 2-3 missiles
-Weapons-
---Rotating 6 blaster gatling gun (Nose)
---Concussion MIRV Missile Launchers (top, wings)
---Gatling Lazers (wings)
-Equipment-
---Countermeasures (Tail)
---Open to Suggestions
-Description-

The SA-89 is a versatile, mobile prototype transporter. It is capable of delivering a squad of 15-20 soldiers, or a few speeders to a location deep behind enemy lines. The SA-89 also doubles as a gunship with a great deal of room for missile launchers, lazers, and plenty of extra rounds. The repulsors allow it to drop soldiers off while hovering and to provide covering fire to ground forces at the same time.

The tail would probably look better if it was level with the top of the transporter, as opposed to the bottom...make it look a little more helicopter-like. It'd be more manoeuvrably viable up there, too...no point having fins on it if the main body of the ship is in the way.

Looks good, though.

The NR doesn't have gatling lasers. Also they wouldn't use modified racing engines, they would creat an engine or utilize one that would be suited for it. The speed is also very slow compared with SW standards. I'm sure it would be able to go over 350 mph.

A speeder truck has a speed of 160 KPH. a T-47 has a max speed of 1000 KPH and a cruising speed of 570 KPH

A normal Planetary Skimmer has a speed of around 230 KPH

So since this has racing engines it would be closer to say 375 to 400 KPH.

Convert those to MPH and you have it.

Who said this is a NR ship :evil

I know I could not find an engine which suited me well. I want ths ship to be able to fly slower for when it is dropping off units, but it should also be able to go fast when it is closed and when it is going through the atmosphere.

(I will draw a new version with some of the changes in it.

Just a random question...what is the definition of "ship"? Would I be able to post up some ground craft...speeders and such?

That looks pretty darn cool. The tail looks a bit scorpion-like...maybe that could be incorporated into the name somehow?

The SA-89 was just like my prototype name. If you want to, then when you get the contract you can make the name what you want.
