The yards at Fondor swarmed with activity as new ships took place in the shipways. In shipway 15 a new ship was taking shape, specifically the first Bellicose class frigate. About an eight of the forward frame work was completed and the workers were rapidly working on completeing the rest as quickly as possible.

Work proceeded on the Bellicose but hardly as fast as the yard commander wanted. The New Republic was still on a peacetime footing and there wasn't any sense of urgency among the yard workers. From his office he could see the men in vac suits working on the new ship. Most of the forward framework was complete but the entire aft section needed to be constructed. Even after te framework was completed many hours of work remained, to install the interior, then the electronics equipment, and finally weapons. It would be quite a while unless the Senate would vote to put the NR on wartime production levels.

The entire framework was now complete. Workers now began to construct the hull of the ship, the decking and the bulkheads in the interior. Progress was speeding up in light of rumors of increased Imperial activity. Already two Assault Frigates had been completed that morning and dispatched to the fleet. A sort of competition was evolving between the construction crew of the Bellicose and that of construction crew in the next shipway over working on another Assault Frigate.

The basic ship designwas now complete. The hull was fully intact now and the sublight engines and hyperdrive were fully installed and operational. The main shield generators were installed and work was continuing on installing the backup one. All of the sensor arrays and such were fully grafted onto the hull along with their respective computerers inside. Technicians were inside the bridge checking out all of the consoles there making sure they were installed properly. Weapons were now starting to be installed. Already one of the forward turbolaser clusters had een installed and work was fast progressing on the other weapons systems.

The ship was now complete. All the weapons and other syustems had been fully integrated into the ship. The yard crew fired up the engines to remove the completed ship from the shipway to free it up for the construction of a new ship. Several yard tugs, brought the Bellicose to another platform where she would take on crew and supplies before joining the fleet.
