It can ce OOC or IC, but have have no idea what planet it's on. The one IC thread i did here was a randomly named bar on Thyferra.

OOC: Okay I'll make this an IC Thread

IC:

Rasha walks in to the bar. She had never been here before but since when did that ever matter. In truth she didn't even know where here is. All she know is that she is in imperial space.

Her ship was going back to Corellia after attending a Sith Order Diplomatic Summit on the planet Dathomir. Though on the way back, her ship was attacked by pirates and was damaged badly. So her pilot set a course for the nearest planet and went there for emergency repairs.

So now that she is here, she might as well get a drink. She walks up to the bar tender and orders a glass of his best scotch. Taking a seet at the bar, she looks out at the others in the bar, assessing weather it would be safe to stay here for a while.

OOC: I'll have my fun with this then :p

"Aye, ye'll be havin' yer scootch, eh lass?" the loud, drunken wild-eyed bartender replied, shaking a pint from side to side in his left hand. "Scootch is fer queers! Try the house brand, it's frickin' great!"

Rasha looks back at the bartender...

"Excuse me sir. But unless your stuff compares to the fine Corellian Brandy I get back home, I will just go for a Scotch. I've been disipointed enough with the Brandy I've gotten everywhere other than Corellia. So please just give me what I ordered."

"Aye, ye'll have yer scootch, and no mistake!"

The bartender snorted, two of his arms reaching behind him to grab a bottle and a glass, which he placed in front of the customer.

"Drink up queer!"

Rasha tahes the bottle and fills the glass with the scotch. She puts the bottle down and picks up the glass, sipping the scotch.

She goes back to looking around bar at the other people there.

Tel leaned back in his chair, contemplating his hand. Around a few other off-duty officers in civilian dress did the same. Across the table Commander Glenn had a broad grin on his face.

"You better have something good in that hand or you’re going to owing me money again.”

Teleran looked at him with a mock sneer. "You keep talking like that and I'll have you charged with insubordination."

Tel looked back to his cards, the Idiot, Master of Coins, the 2 of Flasks, and the 8 of Flasks looked back, a net value of -4. It would take a lucky miracle to win this one, but he called the bet anyway. That was his problem; he relied on luck, not skill. After the last of the chips had been thrown in, the shifter activated, turning the Master into a 3 of sabers. He couldn’t believe it; the hand was only worth 13, but the Idiot’s array, a literal 0-2-3, would win not only the hand, but the pot too. Glenn looked at his hand and smirked.

“I don’t think beat this one, Captain. I call, 23”

Around the table the others groaned and threw down their hands.

“Sorry Alex, I win this one.”

At the sight of the hand, Glenn dropped his head to the table. “I don’t frelling believe it.”

Tel smiled as he collected the 2,780 credits in the pot. “I’ll buy you a round of drinks to make it up.”

Tel made his way to the bar and leaned over the counter.

“Barkeep, can I get two Lomin ales, two house Brandys, and a Correlian Whisky.?

Rasha smiles as the hansom man gets up from the table and walks up to the bar near her. Rasha does a quick tidy of her hair with her hands by running her fingers through it. She smiles up at Teleran after he is finished ordering the drinks.

"Ether you are a very nice man to buy you buddies a drink, or you really like your Booze... You seem rather good at that game." Rasha says nodding at the table he just came from.

Tel leaned against the counter turned toward Rasha. He chuckled at her comment about the drinks. "I try to be a nice guy when I get the chance. " He quickly looked her over. She was quite stunning and friendly enough

""Good choice on the drink." Tel nodded toward her scotch. "I can't stand the brandy here, but the barkeeper's in love with it."

He extended his hand. "Teleran Balades"

Rasha smiles....

"I've grown up with the Corellian Brandy to find on Corellia. I find that the stuff that you fide else where just pales in compareson to it. So when I can't get the good stuff I just go for a scotch."

Rasha shakes Teleran's hand in a very lady like fashion...

"I'm Rasha Vill."

(ooc: Visc, you still in this?)

Tel retracted his hand and glanced behind the counter to see what was taking the barkeeper so long. His friends at the sabacc table had only so much patience. He turned back to Rasha.

"This place is pretty far from Corellia, and isn't quite the vacation spot. What brings you out here?"

"I was going back to Corellia after attending a Sith Order Diplomatic Summit on the planet Dathomir. On the way back, we were attacked by pirates and and the ship was damaged badly. We set a course for the nearest planet and went there for emergency repairs. That just happend to be this place. Since TSO and the Empire are on good terms with each other, it just makes thing a bit easer."

Rasha takes a sip of her drink

"I take it you live here? Not in the bar... on the planet..."

Rasha adds with a joking tone in her voice

"...Or do you live in the bar?"

A Sith? Interesting.

Tel tries covers up the surprise at meeting a sith out here. Even if they were only on planet for repairs, the news made Tel a little uneasy. The relation between the sith and the sovereignty were touchy at best, though he knew diplomats were constantly travelling to Corellia.

Tel chuckled at Rasha's joke to cover up his pause.

"No, I don't live here, though the bar is a decent place to stay. I guess you could say my home is on my ship."

He caught movement from the table his group shared. Alex had apparently lost his patience and was heading for the bar.

Rasha can tell by the way Teleran reacted, that when she mentioned she was at a Sith Order Summit, his body went more on alert, So she desides to comment...

"Before you start looking for the nearset exits, I'm not a sith myself. infact that bottle of House Brandy on the wall there likely has more force potental than me.

I'm just the diplomatic leader of Corellia. I was elected to the position about a month ago, And if you are still hunting for an exit there are the main doors, a window behind you, a fire exit in the back corner and I think I saw a set of windows the went into the washrooms when I was on my way in.

If your not looknig for the exits and still want to talk with me, why don't you tell me about this ship you live on?"

Teleran Balades

Tel laughed and relaxed a bit. Knowing that she wasn't directly a sih was conforting, and the fact that she was the diplomatic leader could prove useful.

"I don't think I'll head for an yet. I'm just a bit uneasy when it comes to force users. "

Tel shifter his attitude to the more calm, observing demeanor of an Imperial officer. Making a good impression on behalf of a sith representative may help out negotiations.

Behind him Alex had reached the bar. "Hey Captain can we be expecing those drinks anytime soon? Waiting while your flirting isn't very entertaining."

Tel rolled his eyes, his second in command could be a nuisance at times. "In a minute Commander, I'm having a conversation with the diplomatic leader of Corellia iif you don't mind." The same image Tel was now portraying washed over Glenn as well.

"My ship is an Aurora-class Star Destroyer in the proud service of the Imperial Sovereignty."

Rasha Vill

"Arn't we all alittle uneasy when it comes to force users. At least you don't have to be the one bringing bad news to them, and try to figure out what the hell they are doing, so you can run a planet around them."

Rasha downs the last of the Scotch in her glass and goes to fill it again.

"I don't meen to sound ingnorant, but I've never heard of an Aurora-class before. I'm only familar with the SD from around the time of the begining of the Sith occupation of Corellia. How good is an Aurora-class?"

Teleran Balades
May 7th, 2004, 07:33:00 AM
"I guess that does make things difficult."

Tel took long drink from the whiskey that had finally been delivered. Alex shook his head and carried the rest of the drinks back to the table.

Tel hesitated for a mintue before anwering her question. Giving out information about his ships wasn't something he liked to do.

They were manufactured at the Corellian shipyards anyway. She could find out on her own,so why not.

"The Aurora is slighlty larger than the old Imperator SDs. Most of the heavy turbolaser and Ion cannon emplaement have been replaced with heavy torpedo pods and point defense weapon."

Tell paused to take another drink.

"Auroras can do massive amounts of damaged, but aren't as effective once the torpdoes run it."

Rasha Vill
May 7th, 2004, 03:20:13 PM
Rasha nods, understanding the tatical advantage of a ship of this kind.

"So this vessle would be best for fast powerful blows, likey sent in first to blow through the enemy's defences, or brought in near the end to strike the killing blow. Due to the limited supply of Torps, it would be unwise to have them stay in the battle after they have run out."

Rasha takes another sip of her drink.

"Taticaly speeking, this would be the kind of vessle you would want as an escort, but in my books would make a bad choice of a ship if you were wanting something to be defended with out the option of retreat ."

Teleran Balades

Talking about tactics with a diplomat? Never thought iit could happen

"The cost and manufacturing time makes it an inefficient choice as an escort. It's used mostly for large scale assaults, and as a mobile Garrison. Each can transport a two legions with mechanized support and can hold a wing of fighters."

Tel stopped himself realizing that he had been rambling on. He didn't typically join in conversations, but when he did it took some time to get him to stop.

"Forgive me for rambling."

Tel paused to drink down the rest of the whiskey.

"You should have become a fleet officer"

Rasha Vill
May 12th, 2004, 03:00:31 PM
Rasha laughs slightly...

"When I said as an escort, I meant for like a large convoy. It would be more effective to have one large ship that can carry fighter, then a number of small ships. The fact that it uses torpedos as a primary weapon, means that you could cause some mega damage on your opponet before they could even get within firing range.

Also the fact that it only takes a moment to allow a torpodo tube to fire missles, that would make it effective agenst snubs as well. So in using it as an escort, you could take on a sizeable raiding party with only one vessle.

In the long run that would acualy save you money because you would not nead to fuel as many ships, and since it's not likely to enter atmosphere, it's fuel consumption would be less thant the ships that were to refuel on the ground, since 56% of all fuel used on a small capital vessle is used in manunvers done in atmosphere."

Rasha laughs again...

"You are not rambling. I'm use to people taking 15 sentances to say NO. Diplomats are very good at that, but I'm accualy really enjoying this conversation. As for me becoming a fleet officer, I tryed. But Corsec doesn't like women taking power. Infact most of the older people on corellia don't like Women have any kind of power. After my father died I felt the need to take his place in politics. If it was not for Lady Vader my political standing would be that of an assistant, not leading the Corellian Government."

Teleran Balades
May 18th, 2004, 04:28:58 PM
"It's always good to have friends that are willing to help you out."

Tel called the bartender oveer and asked for a second drink. This conversation was getting interesting, most of the officers he worked with weren't this open to conversation; then again most feared insulting or angering a fleet captain.

"You were held back because of being female? Why didn't you just leave Corellia? I understand the feeling the need to take your fathers place, but why would anyone willingly condem themselves to politics...no offense ment?

Rasha Vill
May 19th, 2004, 02:48:12 PM
Rasha sighs...

"Well I was going to leave after I lost my father, but I was already my father's helper in the office and knew everything of what he was doing with the place. So after I saw that the mayor that took his place was messing up all my father's hard work, I couldnt help but want to kill the man. It only took one shot to the back of the head, so then the people had to choose a new mayor. I ran for the position, and one because all the other peoplerunning for the job backed out or vanashed after Lady Vader visited them at home. So in short I got into politics because I didn't want my father's work to be runied, and I knew I could do the job. I'm just glad that lady vader saw my potental and "Voted" for me"

"It's hard to resist being able to rise in power so swiftly and easily. Sometimes it's a good idea, other times not. Personaly, I take whatever path seem to have the most reward while still holding on to ethical morals."

"Do you like working the sith?"

Rasha Vill
May 31st, 2004, 10:20:23 AM
"For the most part they are just people. And are just as ease to work with as other people. I see no problem with working with them, as long as the don't get in my way of running the planet. But like any group of people they have those that are easer to work with than others. And of course you also have to worry about them killing you if you get in their way. But I guess as long as we can work together, and not anger each other too much, they are just as nice to work with as any other diplomat."

Teleran Balades
Jun 9th, 2004, 02:01:12 PM
"I wouldn't call most diplomats I've had to work with nice. They can be more ruthless with words than soldiers fighting in war."

Tel chuckled at the next thought.

"I think politicians are more barbaric and cold-hearted than any military leader can be. Warriors are criticized by the people and politicians for fighting the wars of politics."

Rasha Vill
Jun 9th, 2004, 02:24:02 PM
Rasha can not help but laugh.

"I see that you have at least some understanding with politics, for your statment is very true. Politics is nothing more than a war where you have no idea who is on your side. Behind every smiling face and respectful bow could be somebody just waiting for the chance to drive a knife into your back . It is a war where tatics control everything, and where what looks like the smallest threat will be what kills you.

You can take nothing for face value and can never count on an ally. But in the same hand you can never discount an adversary, for half way through the fight they could join your side. Working with the Sith is no diffrent. So when I say that they are just as nice to work with as any other diplomat, it is symply that.

At least when you are a sodier, you know who is shooting at you, and there are set sides that oppose each other. If a solder was always wondering if one of there own people were going to start attacking them at any time, there would be no armies. Sodier have trust in there fellow solders, where as with politicians, we can not afford to trust our own kind, except for the fact that every politician is doing what is best for them first, and what is best for the people later."
