Thanks; you can stalk me any time you want, just not with my license plate number. Go to my website, get my full name, I’m sure you can track me down that way ;)

If you squint and cross your eyes, then blink really quickly you can make out the number!

Okay. Well, no, no you can’t.

Federacy Technology :) Very true.

Errrr.... how? It takes a good amount of time to steal a column. Even with air tools, it's not possible to do it fast :huh

iI have no idea how they do it, just that they do. apparently you can get 800 bux for one, so now instead of stereos and whatever small thing they can find, they're taking steering columns. Oh, and baby seats are also getting popular.

I can understand baby seats, they are not cheap. But steering columns? WTF?

Khendon Sevon
Apr 19th, 2004, 07:09:19 PM
Well, if you define dreadfully slow in terms of 0-60, sure :) It's not a car you drag race. That's why it handles like a dream, to make up for it. Also, it has great pickup when you drive it right, even if it isn’t a 0-60 dream machine. Or, if you mean top speed, well, it has a governor, besides, who goes that fast unless they're racing?

Now, if you want to race a car, I wouldn't suggest the RX8. But if you want a car that's fun to drive, a sexy beast, and won’t make your pocket hurt after getting one, I’d suggest the RX8.

And,

Stealing steering columns? That’s freakish.

You fail at your Ferraris. The last real one was the F40, which does the things Ferrari really should be...

1) Achingly beautiful and brutal to look at

2) Almost impossible for the typical tosser to even start - hence only people with a clue can drive it

3) So vicious, it's like a full body assault by Mike Tyson that leaves you swearing and shaking in fear

4) If you come back for more after 3), you know why the F40 is the last real Ferrari.

Unlike the later poof mobiles like the Enzo, the F40 is a no holds barred and no excuses racing car on the road, twin turbo V8 fury that was the absolute last word in performance at the time, only realyl bettered by the McLaren F1 (Gimme the F1 in LM disguise, which is even more fearsome). Now that's the Ferrari to get. The rest are overpriced limp wristed wannabes.

And now for a bit of my car roolz.....

The best thing about the Forester XT is stopping next to somethign like a Porsche or even a Ferrari, giving them the finger and trapping them into a race. Unless there's someone with an ability to actually drive in said Porsche, ferrari or hapless V8 / 350Z / RX-8 / WRX, the look on their faces as they have their door handles sucked off by a wagon is worth the price alone.

- And if you really wat to have fun, buy a 20 dollar boost controller, get a STI intercoller, 300 hp is now yours and really do the job on them

- And if you really want to embarras the sports cars, change the rear sway bar to an STI, get a set of decent rubber and the wagon will own em in the twisties too.

Subaru have got some of the bestest and most whacked out cars right now :D

Then why dont you learn, or even better drive a Forester XT, preferably manual, then find out exactly why a mommymobile can bitchslap yuppies in their high priced "sports" cars.

Sneeze at them and there's 300hp, change tyres, change rear sway bar, you now have a track / autocross weapon. And if it rains or the surface is slippery, there's no contest. You need an EVO or STI to even think about keeping up.

Talk about your horsepower or the "yuppies in their high priced "sports" cars" if you wish.

But if I was sitting in my Ferrari, and someone in thier Forester drove up to me and started flipping me off and talking smack....I would probably just bust out laughing and flip my cigarette butt in thier window.

But...that's just me.

Smoking is bad for your health. Besides, the local GTR's are much more of a challenge

Editors note : Tried out a RX-8 for crap n giggles today. Not bad inside, not bad outside, wonderful handler. Probably would have gone for one if I was 10 years younger. Much more of a turbo AWD fan these days, plus always liked cars that have a raw edge to them.

One thing of note - best damn gearshift of all time.

And all a Forester is these days is nothing more than an average Subaru wagon for mother's who want to fly down the road on the way to soccer practice.

Dont forget the lesbians. Oh, and the retirees. They like Foresters too. And the odd race driver who likes to surprise the hell out of unsuspecting victims.

From what I hear--from talking to buddies--the AWD subarus that are being talked about will do wonders off the line and can smoke many a great car... however, when they're on the highway and are starting the race at around 40-50 mph they don't make the cut.

Then again, it varies according to modifications and driver, doesn't it :)

By the way, I don't really like Ferrari's, Porsches are more up my alley.

I second that.

Speaking of ridiculously expense, yet sexy cars, I'll never forget the day I drove by a Lamborgini Diablo SV parked on the street above where my parents live. Such a mean looking car... *here insert drooly smiley* (Just with that car parked ther, I think the retail prices for those homes went up quite a notch. :lol)

No... it's not. It's ben dumbed down and had tosser wand waved over it.. The F40 was the last true race car with number plates, even the 355 Challenge has some road going compromise, although easily removed. It came from the 308 GTB Group B development car. The F40 morphed to the 333SP and the F40 LM.

The F40 came in two versions, the calmed down 380Kw and the highly rare and incredibly wicked 480Kw+ version that was marked racing only and had extra wing and a hell of a lot more boost. However, one or two did make it onto the roads.

The main thing tho is that the F40 was without compromise, the last car Enzo Ferrari had any say on before he died. It's lean, it's got not a scrap of luxury, it even has sliding windows to cut weight and no door handles on the inside. It just simply a pure driving machine, not a fashion statement. Plus, it's truly a scary car to drive. I really want to try that one one day, just to see if it's true.

That and an Lancia S4. 0-60mph in 1.9 seconds.

And S'il, hell yeah. So easy to boost a Skyline to murderous hp. I've seen a 700hp modded one near my home and it is simply awe inspiring. Even has a straight cut sequential gearbox.

My friend's dad races Porsches. One of the not-so-street-legal ones puts out 450hp--that's without turbocharging. Of course, it's been stripped of all but the driver's seat, has plastic windows, and nearly everything is fiber glass. I was told the only thing that is stock is the shell. Crazy. Sounds like sooo much fun to drive.

Yes, a race Porsche is awesome. The first car that scared me was a 911 Targa with a 3.3 litre racing motor. Frightenig acceleration, a real handful to drive but hell best damn thing to fling around

GT? Nah not for me. If it wears a Ford badge, the Falcon Typhoon would be it for me. And in quasi Ford the other desirealbe is a AC Cobra 427 - Orignal or clone would be fine

Morgan Evanar

:rolleyes than why is it that in every comparison the 355 Challenge Stradelle gets spanked by the Ford GT? Not on the basis of anything but pure performance. And no, its not simply because it has more power, its because it drives better.

Marcus Telcontar
Apr 22nd, 2004, 06:05:40 AM
Huh? I didnt say I liked the 355 Challenge did I? I was exampling it as a Ferrari that's more pure to the Ferrari origins, but still fails

I think in the confusion that was a post made by a wrecked keyboard, I'm also stating my likes in Ford dont extend to the GT, but to different vehicles with the Ford badge. Where did I say I perferred a 355 Challenge over a GT?
