OOC: The title says it all really. Character interaction will be prominent..

Tightening his grip on the huge axe in his hands, Garrett peered around the corner. The street was relatively empty save for a few of them. His gaze passed them and on to a building down the street. It looked safe enough. Beyond that, and beyond the other highrise buildings above, he could see the sector walls casting their shadows down onto the city below. Not that it mattered - night had already fallen. The only light now came from the fires that consumed buildings and vehicles and bodies. It was a nightmare; one that he'd created. By accident, of course. He called back to Gav, who was resting against the waste disposal unit Garrett had slid up against the back door of the bar they'd just escaped from.

'I think it's safe to move now, but we'd better be quick.'

They shot down the street and into another alley. The lamp still had power and illuminated the alley a seductive orange-green. Garrett forced a door open and led them inside. It looked like a normal diner with just two floors. A single set of stairs led upstairs.

'Thats where we're going. C'mon!'

They ventured upstairs. It looked like a safe enough place to rest for a while until they figured out what to do. Garrett stayed near the stairs with his axe handy just in case. It was quite gloomy, with very little light that was outside getting in. Garrett tried a lightswitch with no success. Obviously the power was out here too.

'Any ideas?'

As he asked the question, he thought back less than an hour ago; to the events that led up to this very solid and very real nightmare...

The Invisi-Sec. Otherwise known as the Invisible Sector. It was a very old part of Coruscant that had not yet benefitted from the New Republics many redevelopment programmes in operation across the planet. Relatively unchanged since the reign of Emperor Palpatine; the Invisi-Sec was a sector of Coruscant created for one simple purpose: containment.

The Emperor's disliking (some might say hatred) for aliens was a well-known fact throughout the Empire. Aside from Grand Admiral Thrawn, for whom an exception was made thanks to his exceptional military genius, there were no aliens whatsoever serving in the Imperial Fleet or its ground forces. While he did allow for aliens to reside on planets under Imperial occupation, he did not tolerate aliens parading around Coruscant. Sooner than get rid of a large portion of the planets population, he basically quarantined them in their own sector with sky-high impenetrable walls, huge solid security gates and encryption codes just to get in or out. The sector was kept under tight surveillance. But when the New Republic took over they did not replace the old security system. Instead they put newer, simpler protocols in place which overrid the old ones. Life in the sector continued as it alwasy had done, except that people could now come and go as they pleased, and inhabitants were given all the same benefits as the rest of the planets citizens.

Tourism is big on Coruscant. So big in fact, that it even manages to catch the interest of two very unlikely friends. The Odd Couple. Garrett and Gav decided to visit the Invisi-Sec for a few reasons. One of those reasons was that Garrett was supposed to be meeting somebody who claimed to have vital information about Garretts past. While Gav was unsure about the situation, Garrett saw no harm in meeting the mysterious person. They had agreed to meet in a bar. That bar in fact. The one across the street.

It was already dusk. Time flies when you're having fun. They'd already enjoyed some of the sadistic humour that they both share, but thats neither here nor there. Once inside they take a seat at the bar and order a couple of drinks. Garrett placed the extremely large duffle bag he carried on his bag onto the floor with a thud. A few of the bar patrons look over at the noise, obviously aware that there is something very large and very heavy within it. Garrett looks over at them.

'Mind your business or lose your legs!.'

He took a sip of the drink. It was just water.

'Well he said he'd find us so I guess we just wait. You look terrible by the way.'
