These ship are built for one thing, combat. They have no crews so loose of life is zero and are built to hit the enemy anywhere, at any time. When Federacy fleets don't have the ships to do hit and run and haressment missions, these ships come into play. They can be on station as long as it takes. Their automated systems make them cheaper because there is no crew pay and no money has to be wasted on crew quarters, food, water, and all the other things that living personel need.

The ships use all space to the maximum and therefore New Federacy System is able to cram so many weapons into such a small ship. The ships angular design also allows almost all weapons to fire in any direction, giving the ship unpresidented fields of fire. This ensures that a maximum number of weapons can be brought against a target ship.

The ships feature large engines which make the fastest ship in the Federacy fleet. It's lower mass allows for quick acceleration and thrusters scattered throughout the ships hull allow for maneuvers never before done in ship this size. Advanced Computer/Automated systems control all ship functions and allow for maximum weapons accuracy. These computer systems are designed to recieve orders on the fly and calculate proper actions to take against all enemy movements. They are designed to scan and exploit enemy weaknesses. The systems are also made to work with other systems, meaning that hunting packs could be formed. These packs would travel together and assault enemy formations together. Before these packs move out, Federacy commanders will have to assign one of the ship as a leader and all other ships would take orders from that ship. Orders could be updated at anytime through hyperspace links and data could be sent back to command through heavily encrypted data links.

The systems also don't have self preservation programs so that if it is badly damaged it would try and ram the nearest enemy ship, or just self-detinate and try and cause as much damage as possible.

The idea of an automated attack system is very intriguing. I actually like the general concept, however, it’s very unFederacy like. Although we heavily rely on technology, we always keep a human element in it.

The entire idea of having suicide strikes isn’t very appealing to me. Research patent denied.
