This Station is Hexagonal in shape with huge spheres on each corner. It is loitered with weapons and is made for the protection of planets, systems, and military instillations. Its constructed to take the place of expansive planet defense fleets and ground based defenses. They can usually hold off enemy fleets and give time for Federacy fleets to arrive on sceen and offer support. The station is heavily automated to limit crew numbers and to improve accuracy of weapon systems. Full squadrons of repair droids are always on station to repair any damage and all systems systems are doubled and some even tripled in order to ensure that the station can take damage.

Note: All warhead launchers use magnetic resonance to launch their ordenance. Meaning that range is not really a factor.

One of the key aspects to Federacy tactics is mobility and size. We like having amazingly maneuverable and fast vessels, we like having small sizes because the ships are generally easier and more cost effective to produce.

Our current mobile stations are fairly small (I’m sure you’ve checked out the research on them) and extremely cheap. A 5km space station is asking for trouble, it’s noticeable and becomes a target. Furthermore, it’s immobile, making reconnaissance and surveillance of it far too easy.

I’d suggest working on a smaller design that’s bigger than our current defensive platform but not to the degree that this one is. Federal research patent denied.
