Spectrometers have been used in chemistry studies for years, but only now have they been implimented for military use. These sensor systems are large scale spectrometers that have been adapted and intergrated in ship and satillite systems. These sensors are very easy to understand and there is no fooling them.

The ship systems consist of a single monitoring station on board the bridge of the ship. This station recieves data from numerous receptors placed all over the hull of the given vessal. These receptors take in all light that passes by the ships. This does not have to be visible light, but light of any wavelength. When light from a sun or any light source hits a ship in space, it is reflected back to the receptors and the monitor station would show that a ship is present at that location. This system does not depend on anything but color, therefore it can see through all stealth system. Even if the ship is camoflauged with space colors, these colors will still never match the actual color of space. This slight difference is enough to destinguish a foreign object in space.

Even is the ship is cloaked, and undetectable to all other sensors, this system will detect it. Since a cloak field bends light around it, the Spectrometer System will analyze space and would detect these bends in the light. It's programing would that determine the center of this bending and would pinpoint the location the cloaked ship very accuratly. Also if a ship was designed to absorb light, this system would also detect it because this ship would leave a black hole in space where no light is present. This hole would be the location of the enemy ship.

Since everything gives off some form of light, this system can track ion trails as well and pretty much any drive system. Even gravity drives would pull in and alter light patterns around the ship with the drive system. This Spectrometer system is pretty much foolproof.

Intergrated in recon satillites, this system can help ground forces detect camoflauged enemy units before they become a treat. Upon detection, these units could be nuetralized. This system can also detect hidden weapons batteries. This system can be used in space of other guidance systems for missile system, since it would not be tricked by countermeasures. It would see a target and go after only that target, ignoring everything else that comes out of that target, since it would not match that targets spectro reading.

The other factor that makes this system great, is the cost factor. Since Spectrographs have been used for years, this will be nothing too new and the cost will be minimal to adapt it to ship use. These sensor systems would probably be the cheapest systems out there.

Spectro Graph development has been initiated. These new systems will automatically adjust according to predefined circumstance scripts. Each will use extremely sophisticated tuning systems.

As a note, there are certain types of cloaking that can penetrate this technology, but I’m not going to make suggestions :)

Good work, Captain. Patent approved.
