Finally...by Ourselves...(Mylia)

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

Ridge had arranged it.

The entire Rakai/Le'Kray family was going out for dinner that evening as a very special dinner in honor of the reunion of the two family's.

It left Ridge and Mylia alone at the Rakai Manor on Naboo for a few hours. The next morning was Christmas Eve and Ridge had some special plans tonight for the two of them. The first would be a romantic walk along the winding path behind the house. With the moon shining brightly to light their way and a gentle breeze blowing. It was perfect.

It wasn't that Ridge didn't like to spend time with the family he had arrived with, but he was restless and wanted Mylia all to himself for once and tonight would be that night.

The family had taken their carriages towards town and Ridge stood waiting at the bottom of the stairs for his love.

He was dressed casual, but nice in dark pants and tunic. He wondered for a moment, why nearly everything he owned was black. He chuckled to himself and shook his head at the thought of him being a Darksider, but it didn't mean he had to dress the part. Hmmm, maybe he'd have Mylia help him change his wardrobe soon.

It was about that time that he heard a throat clearing that he looked up and saw the most beautiful woman in his life at the top of the stairs. He smiled and bowed, she was dressed casual as well, he had warned her earlier that they would be going for a walk in the woods.

"You look lovely, Mylia. As always." He told her with a gleam in his eye.

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia looked herself over in her mirror. Casual. I guess it would be the best since they were taking a walk in the woods. She sighed. Oh well, casual was not really her thing. But she would deal with it, for Ridge. She smiled at the thought of him. SHe and Ridge had been doing very well lately, even after that one night...

She stopped herself from thinking about it. She did not want to bring it back up. She and Ridge were going to have a great night and that was that.

She left her quarters and went to meet Ridge. She looked at him from the top of the stairs with a smile and a blush. "Thanks, Ridge." She said as she continued down the stairs. She jogged over to him and gave him a big hug. "Tonight is going to be very nice. All alone..."

"I guarantee, you'll enjoy it." He smiled as he kissed her gently. "Come along, my luv. Our night of memories awaits us." He told her as he took her hand in his and led her out towards one of the back balconies.

The evening air was just cool enough to be enjoyed from the heat of the day. It's great out here, isn't it?"

Down some steps they went to a path in the grass that led out to the woods.

Mylia smiled contently as she and Ridge walked toward the balconies. She looked up at him, this was going to be great. "Yes, it's lovely." She looked on towards the woods, where they were headed. "Our night of memories awaits us." Mylia couldn't help but smile as she thought about that. What does Ridge have in mind? He was such the romantic sometimes.

Ridge held her hand as the two of them walked along the path. "I have a surprise for you." He told her with a grin as the two of them stopped.

"I have made amends with my brother."

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia looked to Ridge with a curious look. Her heart skipped a beat when he told her. ""I have made amends with my brother." "What!? Ridge, I'm sorry happy for you! How long know?"

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

"Well, pretty much the same night I wrecked my 'baby'." His baby was the bright red speeder, he had bought a year ago. "I saved his butt that night of the attack at the Senate Med center a couple of weeks ago. You remember reading about that in the paper? I was there. But, anyway, things are going pretty good now. I mean...we're family and family never quits."

He brought her closer to him. "It's all because of you, Mylia. You've changed me, in more ways than one." The moonlight was bright that night on the lit path that they had been on.

Ridge kissed her hand and got to one knee in front of her. This wasn't like where he thought he'd ever do something like this, but it would make a lasting memory. Something neither of them would ever forget.

The Darksider reached into his pocket and pulled out a small velvet box. "I know, this is early, Mylia. But, I couldn't wait a moment more."

His hands grew sweaty as he looked into her eyes. "You have changed me in heart and mind, my life is unbearable without you in it. I wouldn't have had the strength to go on and learn forgiveness, had you not been a part of my life. I want you forever, Mylia if you will have me."

He opened the box and showed her the most beautiful ring ever imagined, it was a carat heart-shaped diamond with several red rubbies surrounding one side of the heart.

"I am asking you, not as a darksider, but as a man in love. Will you covenant the oath of marriage with me and become my bride? Mylia Basque, will you marry me?"

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia nodded as he mentioned the article. She had read it. "Yeah.. I did..." She was cut off by Ridge. "It's all because of you, Mylia. You've changed me, in more ways than one." Mylia got silent and listened, Ridge seemed to get serioius and nervous. "I know, this is early, Mylia. But, I couldn't wait a moment more." "You have changed me in heart and mind, my life is unbearable without you in it. I wouldn't have had the strength to go on and learn forgiveness, had you not been a part of my life. I want you forever, Mylia if you will have me." "I am asking you, not as a darksider, but as a man in love. Will you covenant the oath of marriage with me and become my bride? Mylia Basque, will you marry me?"
Mylia's jaw dropped. She was speechless. The ring was so beautiful. "Oh, Ridge..." She did not know what to say. I mean, she did want to marry him. "Of course, I will. I would love to be Mrs. Kincaid." She wrapped her arms around Ridge and squeezed him tightly. A tear dripped down her cheek, definately not a tear of sadness, but of great joy. "Oh, I love you, Ridge! So much, so much more than I can tell you." [i]She looked at him and bit her lip sightly. "I'm so glad you asked now. I did not know how much longer I could have waited to be committed to you."

Ridge had never been so happy in his life. He knew what inner peace was now, he had come to terms with his brother and Mylia had agreed to marry him.

Things couldn't have been any better!

He held her tightly with a smile on his face. He drew her face closer to his and kissed her gently. As they aparted he told her. "You've made me so happy, Mylia. So, very happy." Ridge released her only for a moment and took the ring from it's box and gently placed it on her finger.

"A perfect fit for a perfect bride." He told her with a smile as he stood. He placed an arm around her and the two began walking again. "You have no idea what you have done for me, Mylia. I feel whole again. For so many years, I was so lost and now I've fallen in love with the most precious woman in the world and she is going to become my wife."

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia blused uncontrollabley. Even thoughtout all of the banquets and all the fuss made over the daughter of a great senator, none was like this. "Oh, Ridge. You are too kind. Perfect... not quite..." As they walked Mylia looked down at the ring. "Oh my goodness, Ridge... this is so beautiful." It was huge and you could tell it was very expensive. "You didn't have to get something like this, a simple ring would have been perfect."

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

"I only want the best for you, Mylia. The best ring, the best home...the best husband. I've seen how some of those high officials and heady guys treat their wives, like they are under them." Ridge stopped and looked at her. Cupping her face in his hands.

"Our marriage, we are partners, equals and there is only one thing I ask of you, we keep our links to each other open and honest."

Mylia beamed. She was so lucky to have Ridge. He was right, most men thought their wives were just another servant or something. "You are the best."

"Always open, always honest." She repeated, agreeing with him.

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

'Of course, you may have to get after me every once in a while if continually place you on that pedistal where I truly believe you belong. I want the universe to know I'm the luckiest man alive." He took her into his arms and held her tightly.

"You are everything I need and more, Mylia. You truly are."

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia blushed again. "Oh Ridge. You're going to give me the biggest ego ever!" She laughed as they kept walking.

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

"Well, that's what I'm supposed to do, isn't it?" He laughed as he took her in his strong arms and swung her around.

When he stopped a few moments later, their lips met passionately.

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia laughed as she was swung. The kiss was good. Very good. Ridge kissed well. She smiled. "This is nice. Nice alone time."

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

"Yes, didn't know it was going to be so hard to find sometime alone here. I know, we probably should have gone with the family, but Quay understood."

[Lady Mylia]

"Yes, Quay is very kewl like that." The woods were beautiful that night. "It's so nice here. I can understand why this is where she wanted to come."

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

The darksider nodded. "Yes, but I've been watching her and it seems for someone who wanted to come home for Christmas vacation, is spending an awful lot of time alone. I have to wonder why, seems kinda strange."

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia nodded. "Yes, it does. But then again, Quay is like that. You never know with her."

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

"Well, I suppose if there is a problem, she'd come to you." He took his arms around her again.

"Talking about Christmas, I wonder what Santa has in store for you in the morning." He asked with a wide grin.

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia gave him a weird look. "I don't think Santa will bring me anything, I'm too big for that kinda thing."

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

Ridge raised an eyebrow in her direction. "Oh really? I guess, I'll just have to comm him then and tell him to keep your gifts."

He couldn't help, but grin.

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia playfully slapped him on his arm. "Oh, no Ridge. Not that." She laughed.

She loved Ridge and loved playing around with him. He always knew how to make her laugh.

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

"Well, I'm sure there will be other gifts under the tree, if not by him...by someone else." He took her hand again and began walking.

[Lady Mylia]

"Yes, I'm sure they will. I hear Quay has got my something lovely." She winked at him.

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

Ridge laughed. "I think I may have a gift or two under there for a lovely lady as well."

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia shrugs. "Only tomorrow will tell." She yawned and laid her head on his shoulder as they walked. "Man, I'm getting sleepy." She looked down at her chrono. "Oh my goodness, it's almost 11 30! We've been out here for a long time."

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

"How time flies when you're having fun. Are you hungry? I was going to take you to dinner, but boy...it's late."

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia shrugged. "I'm not to bad. A little hungry. Maybe we could go get some popcorn and lay in front of the fire?[/i]

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

"Sounds perfect." Ridge answered with a smile as he leaned down and kissed her gently. "You've made me the happiest man, Mylia. I hope you know that."

[Lady Mylia]

"I know. And the feeling is mutual. You've made me the happiest girl." She smiled and kissed Ridge on the nose.

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

Ridge's eyes twinkled in the moonlight. Before she had time to say anything more, he swept her off her feet and into his arms. "Gotta practice a bit, before I walk you across the threshold. Boy, you're light. I could carry you forever."

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia laughed and put her arms around his neck. "I'm not that light."

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

Ridge carried her up to the deck. "Maybe we'll think of getting a place like this someday, that would be nice. Jerib was talking to Quay's uncle Aramis and said that he's giving this place to Quay for her Christmas present."

[Lady Mylia]

"Wow, that's awesome. Maybe this house is what she needs to cheer her up."

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

"Yeah, she's been rather down in the dumps here lately and I can see something is bothering her, but I don't know her well enough to go talk to her."

[Lady Mylia]

"Maybe that's what she needs. Someone who doesn't know her well enough to judge her?" Mylia shrugged. "Who knows?"

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

"Well, perhaps I'll talk to her then. But, let's not talk about her, when we need to be talking about us." He placed Mylia back to her feet and embraced her. "It's so good to be with you right now, right here."

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia nodded. "I know, it's good to be with you. This is such a perfect night."

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

Ridge led her into the dining room that was attached to the balcony and walked into the kitchen.

One of the cooks were in there. "Excuse me, Sir?" Ridge asked.

"Yes, Sir?" The cook piped with a smile as he saw the two. "What can I do for you?"

"We were kindly wondering if we could get some popcorn by the fire in the living room."

"Of course, Sir. It would be my pleasure, I'll have Dory bring it to you as soon as it's done."

Ridge bowed. "Thank you, Sir." He took Mylia's hand and escorted her to the living room that was fashioned to the nook in christmas decor. The tree was beautiful and not far away from the fireplace that was already lit.

"You have to wonder what a life like this one was like, I'd never know about things like that, until this year." He told her gently.

"Christmas was just another day for my uncle."

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia smiled. "That's why I'm glad that you are with me know and I can show you things like this."

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

"I want you to show me everything that I've missed out on, that I've never been a part of. Backyard bar-b-ques and pool parties, I want to see it all and this..." He walked over to the tree and gently touched a branch.

"I know the power of Christmas all over the universe, but my parents were very poor and Christmas wasn't much. Maybe...maybe we can do something to help others feel that joy..." He looked at her. "The joy that I feel at this very moment, with you."

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia looked at him. "That could be arranged." She thought for a moment. "What about the children's shelter back on Corusant. When we get home we can go and visit him."

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

"That sounds like an excellent idea, Mylia. We could give them a great Christmas." Ridge smiled as he turned and looked at her.

[Lady Mylia]

"I'm glad you like that idea. I'll set it up tomorrow."

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

"Perfect, we should try and do this every year. It going to make a lot of kids happy and myself included."

[Lady Mylia]

"Yes, doing good for others always seem to help yourself. It's weird." She smiled at him. "I don't know how such a loving man could have so much hate in him, at one time. There is no darksider in you anymore."

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

Ridge smiled. "I believe all those days are behind me. You are my future."

[Lady Mylia]

"I'm glad to hear that. It makes me very happy."

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

"Well, I wish you to always be happy. I'll make sure of it." He told her and kissed her forehead, then held her to him. Ridge stroked the back of her hair, she had gorgeous hair...but then again she was gorgeous on the inside and out.

"I'm so lucky."

[Lady Mylia]

Mylia blushed again. "I am lucky, too. Very lucky." She said kissing Ridge. After the kiss she began to yawn. "Man, am I tired."

[Ridge (Towers) Kincaid]

"Would you rather we go to bed? I would be happy to hold you all night long, if you'd like." Ridge kissed her hand and smiled.
