[Kwiet Ideya]

Sometimes when I'll be looking over Fans, reading the posts and lurking, I'll come across a name that makes me blink a few times. I'll turn it over in my mind, say it loud, and realize "I don't know how to say that." This thread should clear it up some...I hope.

If you don't want to post a pronunciation key for your character's name, feel free not to. If you think it's fairly obvious how your character's name is pronounced, you don't have to post, either. I'll lead off. Others can volunteer as they see fit.

Kwiet Ideya is pronounced kweet ee-day-ah.
Inu is pronounced ee-nu.

actually, theres a few ways you can pronounce it, i just put up one pronunciation. either way is fine :)

Some pronunciations drive me mad, such as how people turn every single u or i into "oo" and "ee" sounds. Like Itala is Ee-tala, not I-tala.

Peter and I have this running joke in which we pronounce names ridiculously just to poke fun at all the crazy pronunciations. For example Live Wire becomes: Lee-vay Wee-ray. Has me in hysterics. :)

Rhea Kaylen--basically ree-uh kay-lehn. At least on Coruscant. On Imran (her homeworld), her family would say it with more of an accent: hree-ah kay-ln. No vowel sound in the last syllable of the surname and the twisted Welsh "hr" sound in the first name.

The funniest thing about my name is not how many people don't say it right, it's because when I came here and created that name, I'd never seen or played Shadows of the Empire, so I didn't know anything about this Xizor guy.

Finally I bought it for N64 (a while back) and saw the dudes name. I had to do a double take and I thought somehow I ripped the name off subconsciously or without really knowing anything about it.

I had to check to make sure I actually made my name with an "a" in it.
