Whats your favorite songs? I found my ultimate which I hadnt heard a few days ago and searched for the words and thought I might share it. This song is beautiful.

Title: I Know You by Heart
Album: Songbird

Midnights in Winter
The glowing fire
Lights up your face in orange and gold.
I see your sweet smile
Shine through the darkness
It’s line is etched in my memory.

So I'd know you by heart.

Mornings in April
Sharing our secrets
We'd walk until the morning was gone.
We were like children
Laughing for hours
The joy you gave me lives on and on.'

Cause I know you by heart.

I still hear your voice
On warm Summer nights
Whispering like the wind.

(Oh oh ohh…)

You left in Autumn
The leaves were turning
I walked down roads of orange and gold.
I saw your sweet smile
I heard your laughter

I don't have an all time favorite song, but at the moment...

Metric - Combat Baby

we used to leave the blue lights on and there was a beat
ever since you have been gone it’s all caffeine-free
faux punk fatigues
said it all before
they try to kick it, their feet fall asleep
get no harm done no
none of them want to fight me

combat baby come back baby
fight off the lethargy
don’t go quietly
combat baby
said you would never give up easy
combat baby come back

get back in town I wanna paint it black
wanna get around
easy living crowd so flat
said it all before
they try to kick it, their feet fall asleep
I want to be wrong but
No one here wants to fight me like you do

combat baby come back baby
fight off the lethargy
don’t go quietly
combat baby
said you would never give up easy
combat baby come back

I try to be so nice
Compromise
Who gets it good?
Every mighty mild seventies child
Every mighty mild seventies child
Beats me

Do doo dooo
do doo dooo
do do dooo
do de do doo
do doo doo
do doo dooo
do do dooo
do de do doo

combat baby come back baby
combat baby come back
bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye baby
combat baby come back

how I miss your ranting
do you miss my all time lows

My fav song at the moment...

Deadsy - "The Key To Gramercy Park"

I got the key, key to Gramercy Park

Every night
Looking for the fight
Thoughts on the left
The action's on the right
As you know, the id wasn't meant to be starved

Face white
Revenge of the Hittites
When you're inside
And you thought to take a walk in the park
Think someone is about to be carved

Up on the other side of the Underscene
On the boulevard of broken dreams
To find the key to Gramercy Park

I got the key, key to Gramercy Park
Where it's safe to be afraid of the dark
Maybe there we'll **** by the heavenly stars
But I might, might miss breaking in through the bars

Up on the other side of the Underscene
To the boulevard of broken dreams
To find the key to Gramercy Park
In the other time of mother speed
Through evil eyes and make believe
To find the way to Gramercy Park

I got the key, key to Gramercy Park
Where it's safe to be afraid of the dark
Maybe there we'll **** by the heavenly stars
But I might, might miss breaking in through the bars

And never look at the other place
Stay with what's pristine that touches you
Where the peril accentuates
Something that could mean so much to you
Try save a seat in the golden cage
The media mass has still yet to say
To simply pass or rise from the grave

Now I've got the key to Gramercy Park
But I might, might miss breaking in through the bars
Now I've got the key to Gramercy Park
Out of my way and I'm alone, not afraid of the dark

Now I've got the key to Gramercy Park

Face white
Revenge of the Hittites

System Of a Down - Needles

I cannot disguise,
All the stomach pains
And the walking of the cranes
When you, do come out
And you whisper up to me
In your life of tragedy
But I cannot grow
Till you eat the last of me
Oh when will I be free
And you, a parasite
Just find another host
Just another fool to roast
Cause you
My tapeworm tells me what to do
You
My tapeworm tells me where to go
Pull the tapeworm out of your butt ,hey
Pull the tapeworm out of your butt , hey
Pull the tapeworm out of your butt ,hey
Pull the tapeworm out of your butt, hey
All the evil traits
And the filling of the crates
When you, do come out
And you slither up to me
In your pimpin majesty
But I cannot grow
Till you eat the last of me
Oh when will I be free
And you, a parasite
Just find another host
Just another stool to post
Cause you
My tapeworm tells me what to do
You
My tapeworm tells me where to go
Pull the tapeworm out of your butt ,hey
Pull the tapeworm out of your butt , hey
Pull the tapeworm out of your butt ,hey
Pull the tapeworm out of your butt, hey
Pull the tape worm out of me...
I’m just sitting in my room
With a needle in my hand
Waiting for the tomb
Of some old dying man
Sitting in my room
With a needle in my hand
Waiting for the tomb
Of some old dying man
Cause you
My tapeworm tells me what to do
You
My tapeworm tells me where to go
Pull the tapeworm out of your butt ,hey
Pull the tapeworm out of your butt , hey
Pull the tapeworm out of your butt ,hey
Pull the tapeworm out of your butt, hey
Hey, hey, hey, hey

Salva Nos, by Yuki Kajiura. I don't know what the lyrics mean, but it's a pretty song nonetheless.

Dominus Deus
exaudi nos et miserere
exaudi Dominus

Dona nobis pacem
et salva nos a hostibus
Salva nos, Deus

Dominus exaudi nos
Dominus miserere
Dona nobis pacem
Sanctus, Gloria

dona nobis pacem e

I like some of everything from every genre, but my all time favorite is Fur Elise - yes I do enjoy classical music very much.

As for music where there are actual words to sing along with? My favorites are two songs my fiance sings to me all the time (and he has a singing voice to make anyone melt :) )

You Can't Hide Beautiful ~ Aaron Lines

She says don't stare at me
She's afraid that I might see
Those 5 extra pounds she talks about
I don't know what she's talking about

She looks through magazines
With every page she dreams of
Looking like somebody else
I wish she wasn't so hard on herself

Then she falls asleep with just my t-shirt on
But even when her hair's messed up and her make-up's gone

You can't hide Beautiful
You can't hide wonderful
There's nothing that she has to do
It just comes natural
She makes it look easy
I love what she does to me
No way to disguise
The way that she shines
You can't hide beautiful

She can take a simple dress
Put it on and turn some heads
Everytime she moves she gets me
She doesn't even know she's sexy

And the way she thinks sometimes
Out of nowhere blows my mind
She makes me laugh and makes me dream
I love the way she looks at things

A little piece of heaven God gave to this world
She might think she's just an ordinary girl

You can't hide Beautiful
You can't hide wonderful
There's nothing that she has to do
It just comes natural
She makes it look easy
I love what she does to me
No way to disguise
The way that she shines
You can't hide beautiful

Forever and Always ~ Shania Twain

In your arms I can still feel the way you want me when you hold me
I can still hear the words you whispered when you told me
I can stay right here forever in your arms

And there ain't no way--
I'm lettin' you go now
And there ain't no way--
and there ain't not how
I'll never see that day....

CHORUS

'Cause I'm keeping you
forever and for always
We will be together all of our day
Wanna wake up every
morning to your sweet face--always

Mmmm, baby
In your heart--I can still hear
a beat for every time you kiss me
And when we're apart,
I know how much you miss me
I can feel your love for me in your heart

And there ain't no way--
I'm lettin' you go now
And there ain't now way--
and there ain't no how
I'll never see that day....

'Cause I'm keeping you
forever and for always
We will be together all of our day
Wanna wake up every
morning to your sweet face--always

In your eyes--I can still see
the look of the one who really loves me
The one who wouldn't put anything
else in the world above me
I can still see love for me in your eyes

And there ain't no way--
I'm lettin' you go now
And there ain't no way--
and there ain't no how
I'll never see that day....

I'm keeping you forever and for always
I'm in your arms

I wouldn't go as far as saying it's my favourite song ever, I don't really think I have one of them, but it's my current fave:

<CENTER>The Golden Age of Grotesque

All our monkeys have monkeys
We drive our deathcrush diamond Jaguar limousines
We’re not fantastic motherf*****s
But we play them on TV.

It’s a Dirty Word Reich
Say what you like.
It’s a Dirty Word Reich
Say what you like.

We’re the LOW ART GLOOMINATI
And we aim to depress.
The SCABARET SACRILEGENDS
This is the Golden Age of Grotesque.

We’re the LOW ART GLOOMINATI
And we aim to depress.
The SCABARET SACRILEGENDS
This is the Golden Age of Grotesque.

The devils are girls with Van Gogh’s missing ear
You say what you want but filth is all that they hear.
And I’ve got the jigger
To make all of you bigger, so…
“Ladies und Gentlemen…drop your pissroom bait
And make sure you’re not late, you tramps and lunatics.”
Here’s a trick that’s gonna make you
Click.

We’re the LOW ART GLOOMINATI
And we aim to depress.
The SCABARET SACRILEGENDS
This is the Golden Age of Grotesque.

We’re the LOW ART GLOOMINATI
And we aim to depress.
The SCABARET SACRILEGENDS
This is the Golden Age of Grotesque.

It’s a Dirty Word Reich
Say what you like.
It’s a Dirty Word Reich
Say what you like.

So my Bon Mots, Hot-boy Tommy Trons, Rowdy rowdies,
Honey-fingered Goodbye Dolls:
“Hellzapopin, open your Third Nostril,
Put on your black face and your god is gone.”

We’re the LOW ART GLOOMINATI
And we aim to depress.
The SCABARET SACRILEGENDS
This is the Golden Age of Grotesque.

We’re the LOW ART GLOOMINATI
And we aim to depress.
The SCABARET SACRILEGENDS
This is the Golden Age of Grotesque.

We sing: La la la la lala la
We sing: la la la la la
La la la la lala la
We sing: la la la la la

This song feels so sad as I listen to it. It isn't as full of regret as the Johnny Cash version of "Hurt", but it does have a "lost and lonely" quality. Download it and listen (legally, you monkeys), if you don't mind acoustic guitar and singing akin to John Denver and such. I like it, because it fits my recent situation. Expression of life through music.

Fire and Rain - James Taylor

Just yesterday morning they let me know you were gone
Susanne the plans they made put an end to you
I walked out this morning and I wrote down this song
I just can't remember who to send it to

I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again

Won't you look down upon me, Jesus
You've got to help me make a stand
You've just got to see me through another day
My body's aching and my time is at hand
And I won't make it any other way

Oh, I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you again

Been walking my mind to an easy time my back turned towards the sun
Lord knows when the cold wind blows it'll turn your head around
Well, there's hours of time on the telephone line to talk about things to come
Sweet dreams and flying machines in pieces on the ground

Oh, I've seen fire and I've seen rain
I've seen sunny days that I thought would never end
I've seen lonely times when I could not find a friend
But I always thought that I'd see you, baby, one more time again, now

Thought I'd see you one more time again
There's just a few things coming my way this time around, now
Thought I'd see you, thought I'd see you fire and rain, now

Right now it's Hyperballad by Bjork

We live on a mountain
Right at the top
There's a beautiful view
From the top of the mountain
Every morning I walk towards the edge
And throw little things off
Like:
Car parts, bottles and cutlery
Or whatever I find lying around

It's become a habit
A way
To start the day

I go through all this
Before you wake up
So I can feel happier
To be safe up here with you

It's early morning
No one is awake
I'm back at my cliff
Still throwing things off
I listen to the sounds they make
On their way down
I follow with my eyes 'til they crash
Imagine what my body would sound like
Slamming against those rocks

When it lands
Will my eyes
Be closed or open?

I go through all this
Before you wake up
So I can feel happier
To be safe up here with you

Favorite Song of the moment is Diamond Rio "I Believe"... the one year anniversary of my father's death is in a few days and we played it at his funeral.

DIAMOND RIO
"I Believe"

Every now and then soft as breath upon my skin
I feel you come back again
And it's like you haven't been gone a moment from my side
Like the tears were never cried
Like the hands of time are holding you and me
And with all my heart I'm sure we're closer than we ever were
I don't have to hear or see, I've got all the proof I need
There are more than angels watching over me
I believe, I believe

Chorus
That when you die your life goes on
It doesn't end here when you're gone
Every soul is filled with light
It never ends and if I'm right
Our love can even reach across eternity
I believe, I believe

Forever, you're a part of me
Forever, in the heart of me
And I'll hold you even longer if I can
The people who don't see the most
Say that I believe in ghosts
And if that makes me crazy, then I am
'Cause I believe

There are more than angels watching over me
I believe, I believe

That I do. It's in my all-time top five. :)

I should mention that my favorite band is the Foo Fighters. I'm really biased on their stuff, so I tend to exclude them when I talk about "favorite songs". My top three Foo songs are "All My Life", "My Hero", and "Everlong" in that order.

Hehe! I can just imagine you singing that in your "British nanny" accent as you make, like, a sandwich or something.

"Avalanche" and "Suburbia" by Matthew Good come highly recommended by me. Also "Such Great Heights" by The Postal Service and "Cause = Time" by Broken Social Scene (I think you would like that last one Brian :))

EDIT:

Oh, and "I'll Do Anything", "No Stopping Us" and "The Remedy" by Jason Mraz :)

Here's a couple of my all-time favourite songs, in no particular order:

Led Zeppelin - Whole Lotta Love

You need coolin’, baby, I’m not foolin’,
I’m gonna send you back to schoolin’,
Way down inside honey, you need it,
I’m gonna give you my love,
I’m gonna give you my love.

Wanna whole lotta love?
Wanna whole lotta love?
Wanna whole lotta love?
Wanna whole lotta love?

You’ve been learnin’, baby, I been learnin’,
All them good times, baby, baby, I’ve been yearnin’,
Way, way down inside honey, you need it,
I’m gonna give you my love,
I’m gonna give you my love.

Wanna whole lotta love?
Wanna whole lotta love?
Wanna whole lotta love?
Wanna whole lotta love?

(Guitar Solo)

You’ve been coolin’, baby, I’ve been droolin’,
All the good times I’ve been misusin’,
Way, way down inside, I’m gonna give you my love,
I’m gonna give you every inch of my love,
Gonna give you my love.
Yeah! all right! let’s go!

Wanna whole lotta love?
Wanna whole lotta love?
Wanna whole lotta love?
Wanna whole lotta love?

Way down inside, woman,
You need love.

Shake for me, girl
I wanna be your backdoor man.
Hey, oh, hey, oh
Oh, oh, oh
Keep a-coolin’, baby,
Keep a-coolin’, baby.

Aerosmith - Dream On

Everytime that I look in the mirror
All these lines on my face gettin' clearer
The past is gone
It went by like dust to dawn
Isn't that the way
Everybody's got their dues in life to pay
I know what nobody knows
Where it comes and where it goes
I know it's everybody's sin
You got to lose to know how to win

Half my life is in books' written pages
Live and learn from fools and from sages
You know it's true
All the things come back to you

Sing with me, sing for the years
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tears
Sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away

Sing with me, sing for the years
Sing for the laughter, sing for the tears
Sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away

Dream On, Dream On
Dream yourself a dream come true
Dream On, Dream On
Dream until your dream come true

Dream On, Dream On, Dream On..

Sing with me, sing for the years
Sing for the laughter and sing for the tears
Sing with me, if it's just for today
Maybe tomorrow the good Lord will take you away

Led Zeppelin - Stairway To Heaven

There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven.
When she gets there she knows, if the stores are all closed
With a word she can get what she came for.
Ooh, ooh, and she's buying a stairway to heaven.

There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
'Cause you know sometimes words have two meanings.
In a tree by the brook, there's a songbird who sings,
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven.
Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it makes me wonder.

There's a feeling I get when I look to the west,
And my spirit is crying for leaving.
In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees,
And the voices of those who stand looking.
Ooh, it makes me wonder,
Ooh, it really makes me wonder.

And it's whispered that soon if we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason.
And a new day will dawn for those who stand long
And the forests will echo with laughter.

If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now,
It's just a spring clean for the May queen.
Yes, there are two paths you can go by, but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on.
And it makes me wonder.

Your head is humming and it won't go, in case you don't know,
The piper's calling you to join him,
Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow, and did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind.

(Guitar Solo!)

And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our soul.
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold.
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last.
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll.

And she's buying a stairway to heaven.

REM - At My Most Beautiful

I've found a way to make you
I've found a way
A way to make you smile

I read bad poetry
Into your machine
I save your messages
Just to hear your voice
You always listen carefully
To awkward rhymes
You always say your name,
Like I wouldn't know it's you,
At your most beautiful

I've found a way to make you
I've found a way
A way to make you smile

At my most beautiful
I count your eyelashes, secretly
With every one, whisper I love you
I let you sleep
I know you're closed eye watching me,
Listening
I thought I saw a smile

I've found a way to make you
I've found a way
A way to make you smile

Ok I got a new fav.

The Birthday Massacre - Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday
I think my friend said, "I hear footsteps."
I wore my black and white dress to the
birthday massacre, birthday massacre, birthday
I wore my black and white dress

I think my friend said, "Stick it in the back of her head."
I think my friend said, "Two of them are sisters."
"I'm a murder tramp, birthday boy", I think I said
"I'm gonna bash them in, bash them in", I think he said

Then we wished them all a happy birthday
We kissed them all goodnight. Now he chases me to my room,
chases me to my room, chases me
In my black and red dress

I think my friend said, "Don't forget the video."
I think my friend said, " Don't forget to smile."
"You're a murder tramp, murder tramp", I think he said
"You're a murder boy, birthday boy", I think I said

Hmmmm. There are so many, lol.

Metallica - Fade to Black

Life it seems will fade away
Drifting further everyday
Getting lost within myself
Nothing matters no one else
I have lost the will to live Simply nothing more to give
There is nothing more for me
Need the end to set me free

Things not what they used to be Missing one inside of me
Deadly loss this cant be real
Cannot stand this hell i feel
Emptiness is filling me To the point of agony
Growing darkness taking dawn
I was me but now, hes gone

No one but me can save myself, but its too late
Now i cant think, think why i should even try

Yesterday seems as though it never existed
Death greets me warm, now i will just say goodbye
Goodbye

Metallica - One

I can't remember anything
can't tell if this is true or dream
deep down inside I feel to scream
this terrible silence stops me

now that the war is through with me
I'm waking up, I cannot see
that there's not much left of me
nothing is real but pain now

hold my breath as I wish for death
oh please God, wake me

back in the womb it's much too real
in pumps life that I must feel
but can't look forward to reveal
look to the time when I'll live

fed through the tube that sticks in me
just like a wartime novelty
tied to machines that make me be
cut this life off from me

hold my breath as I wish for death
oh please God, wake me

now the world is gone I'm just one
oh God, help me hold my breath as I wish for death

darkness imprisoning me
all that I see
absolute horror
I cannot live
I cannot die
trapped in myself
body my holding cell

landmine has taken my sight
taken my speech
taken my hearing
taken my arms
taken my legs
taken my soul
left me with life in hell

Metallica - Harvester Of Sorrow

My Life Suffocates
Planting Seeds of Hate
I've Loved, Turned to Hate
Trapped Far Beyond My Fate
I Give
You Take
This Life That I Forsake
Been Cheated of My Youth
You Turned this Lie to Truth

Anger
Misery
You'll Suffer unto Me

Harvester of Sorrow
Language of the Mad
Harvester of Sorrow

Pure Black Looking Clear
My Work Is Done Soon Here
Try Getting Back to Me
Get Back Which Used to Be
Drink up
Shoot in
Let the Beatings Begin
Distributor of Pain
Your Loss Becomes My Gain

Anger
Misery
You'll Suffer unto Me

Harvester of Sorrow

Carry On My Wayward Son
Kansas:

Once I rose above the noise and confusion
Just to get a glimpse beyond the illusion
I was soaring ever higher, but I flew too high
Though my eyes could see I still was a blind man
Though my mind could thnk I still was a mad man
I hear the voices when I'm dreamin', I can hear them say

CHORUS
Carry on my wayward son,
For there'll be peace when you are done
Lay your weary head to rest
Don't you cry no more

Masquerading as a man with a reason
My charade is the event of the season
And if I claim to be a wise man, it surely means that I don't know
On a stormy sea of moving emotion
Tossed about I'm like a ship on the ocean
I set a course for winds of fortune, but I hear the voices say

CHORUS

Carry on, you will always remember
Carry on, nothing equals the splendor
Now your life's no longer empty
Surely heaven waits for you

CHORUS

Why not?

All-times:

Same Auld Lang Syne--Dan Fogelberg
Be Thou My Vision--hymn
A Mighty Fortress is Our God and Christ Jesus Lay in Death's Strong Bands--both by Martin Luther, the latter because it's so wonderfully medieval, and sounds great on flute
Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing--hymn (do you see a pattern?:))
Somewhere I Belong--Linkin Park (it began my LP obsession, so it goes under All-Time Faves)

Current:
Festival Sanctus--I can't remeber the writer/arranger right now, but it's an awesome choral piece.
The Remedy--Jason Mraz
Perfect--Simple Plan
Mirror--Gackt
Oceano--Josh Groban
Invisible--Clay Aiken
Boys and Girls--Good Charlotte

Albums:
Hybrid Theory, Meteora, and Live in Texas--Linkin Park
The Young and the Hopeless--Good Charlotte
The Innocent Age--Dan Fogelberg
Closer--Josh Groban
Mars--Gackt

I'll think of more later. If anybody wants lyrics, I'll get 'em for ya.

Alpha: Here's a translation for you, just in case you wanted it:

Dominus Deus (Lord God)
exaudi nos et miserere (We pray for mercy)
exaudi Dominus (Pray to God)

Dona nobis pacem (Let there be peace)
et salva nos a hostibus (and save us from the enemy)
Salva nos, Deus (Save us, God)

Dominus exaudi nos (Lord hear us)
Dominus miserere (Lord have mercy)
Dona nobis pacem (Let there be peace)
Sanctus, Gloria (Holy, Glory)

dona nobis pacem e (Let there be peace and)
dona is requiem (Should be Dona *eis* requiem: Give them rest)
inter ovas locum (Within this sacred place)
voca me cum benedicitis (Summon me with the blessed)
I'ie jesu domine dona eis requiem (Should be *Pie Jesu* Merciful Jesis, give them rest)
dominus deus sanctus gloria (God our lord, Holy, Glory)

Christe elesion (Christ, have mercy)
libera me perpetua (Save me forever)
libera animas omni fidelium, Jesus (Save the souls of the faithful departed)
Dominus Deus miserere (Lord God, mercy)

Just so you know. :)

And Rhea, good selection of songs. I happen to like "When the roll is called up Yonder."

When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, and time shall be no more,
And the morning breaks, eternal, bright and fair;
When the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore,
And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.

Refrain

When the roll, is called up yon-der,
When the roll, is called up yon-der,
When the roll, is called up yon-der,
When the roll is called up yonder I’ll be there.

On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in Christ shall rise,
And the glory of His resurrection share;
When His chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the skies,
And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.

Refrain

Let us labor for the Master from the dawn till setting sun,
Let us talk of all His wondrous love and care;
Then when all of life is over, and our work on earth is done,
And the roll is called up yonder, I’ll be there.

I hadn't either, until I got it for my birthday. Just like the title says, it's a live version gleaned from two different Texas concerts during the summer Sanatorium tour. Includes songs from all three of the other albums. And it rocks.

Thanks! I think I'd like "Role is Called Up Yonder" if it had a different tune, because the lyrics are great. Kind of like the two different versions of "Rock of Ages"--hate the original tune, love the newer one.

Various other songs I like currently:

Smooth Criminal--The AAF version. Thanks for reminding me of this one, ReaperFett. I love the video.
Bittersweet Symphony--the Verve
Send Your Love--Sting (the music, really, because the lyrics are pretty dumb)
Hey Ya--Outkast (also good music, stupid lyrics)
That's Just the Way it Is and Mandolin Rain--Bruce Hornsby
That Offspring song that's popular right now. Can't remember the name.
Theme from the video game ICO
Themes from FINAL FANTASIES X and X-2--Nobuhiro Watsuki

Don't know about all-time favourites, but right now I've got "Pulsating Protoplasma" by Mortician on repeat (originally recorded by Pungent Stench). Actually, their entire 'Domain Of Death' album is great.

These are the lyrics of the title song:

---

"Domain Of Death" ~ Mortician

Entering the morbid domain of death
Torn off limbs severed heads and rotting flesh
Endless screams suffering and cries of pain
Iron spikes pierce the skin and blood is drained
Torture degradation and butchery
Maniac inflicts the pain happily
Tongue is ripped from the root out of your mouth
Gurgling blood choking filling up your throat
Laid out upon the rack your limbs are stretched
Turning wheel bringing you a painful death
Sadistic lust for blood and agony
Instruments of torture to make you bleed

Accusations, forced confessions
Death is ordered, slowly tortured
Dismemberment, tortured flesh
Hanging bodies, burning alive

---

I've also been listening to a lot of Old Man's Child recently, and I've fallen in love with In Flames all over again. :)

FFX is good. FFX-2 has some good songs, but I didn't like the soundtrack very much (Do not get me started on that Chocobo Theme from X-2...)

And isn't the X soundtrack done by Nobuo Uematsu, the same as most of the rest of the Final Fantasy series? :)

Ryla~Thank you! :) lol. Now I know what the song means. :D

AAACK! You're right, of course. I don't really know what I was thinking when I wrote Nobuhiro Watsuki (author of Rurouni Kenshin) instead of Nobuo Uematsu. I meant Uematsu *blush*.

I really like the main theme from X-2, and some of the other songs. I was disappointed, though, that they'd changed the Chocobo music...though I kind of like the new one, too.

I finally decided on my all-time favorite song: Audioslave's Like a Stone, for which I will now include the lyrics, because the lyrics are awesome.

Like a Stone--Audioslave

On a cobweb afternoon
In a room of emptiness
By a freeway I confess
I was lost in the pages
Of a book full of death
Reading how we'll die alone
And if we're good we'll lay to rest
Anywhere we want to go

[Chorus]
In your house I long to be
Room by room patiently
I'll wait for you there
Like a stone I'll wait for you there
Alone

On my deathbed I will pray
To the gods and the angels
Like a pagan to anyone
Who will take me to heaven
To a place I recall
I was there so long ago
The sky was bruised
The win was bled
And there you led me on

[Chorus]

And on I read
Until the day was gone
And I sat in regret
Of all the things I've done
For all that I've blessed
And all that I've wronged
In dreams until my death
I will wonder on

[Chorus]

Pretty much anything country floats my boat. My Fav right now is American Soldier by Toby Keith.

American Soldier
Toby Keith
I'm just trying to be a father
Raise a daughter and a son
Be a lover to their mother
Everything to everyone
Up and at 'em, bright and early
I'm all business in my suit
Yeah, I'm dressed up for success
From my head down to my boots

I don't do it for the money
There's bills that I can't pay
I don't do it for the glory
I just do it anyway
Providing for our future's my responsibility
Yeah I'm real good under pressure
Being all that I can be

And I can't call in sick on Mondays
when the weekends been too strong
I just work straight through the holidays
And sometimes all night long
You can bet that I stand ready when the wolf growls at the door
Hey, I'm solid, hey I'm steady, hey, I'm true down to the core

And I will always do my duty no matter what the price
I've counted up the cost, I know the sacrifice
Oh, and I don't want to die for you
but if dyin's asked of me
I'll bare that cross with honor
'cause freedom don't come free

I'm an American soldier, an American
beside my brothers and my sisters I will proudly take a stand
when liberty's in jeopardy I will always do what's right
I'm out here on the front line
Sleep in peace tonight
American soldier, I'm an American soldier

Yeah, an American soldier, an American
beside my brothers and my sisters I will proudly take a stand
when liberty's in jeopardy I will always do what's right
I'm out here on the front line
So Sleep in peace tonight
American soldier, I'm an American
An American, an American soldier

Since I don't really listen to much music.......

Gullum's Song

Where once was light
Now Darkness falls
Where once was love
Love is no more
Don't say - goodbye
Don't say - I didn't try...

These tears we cry A
re falling rain
For all the lies
You told us
The hurt, the blame!

And now we weep
To be so alone
We are lost!
We can never go home

So in the end
I will be - what I will be
No loyal friend
Was ever there for me

Now we say - goodbye
We say - you didn't try...

These tears you cry
have come to late
Take back the lies
The hurt, the blame

And you will weep
when you face the end alone
you are lost!
you can never go home.

I just like this song for some weird reason......

"Ordinary Story" ~ In Flames

egoism dictates human relations
a world where fashion outshines morality
here success is written in blood-red colours
designed by the thirst for power

gather the faithful and propose a toast
to the epoch of indifference

an all too ordinary story
with aftertaste so bitter
forced to be someone I don't want to be
I'm losing myself. sinking deeper down
I'm caught in the world wound web

a time represented by the void
an excuse without content
stuck in the abyss of existence
with a content void of excuse

an all too ordinary story
this is my story
with an aftertaste so bitter

sinking deeper down
I'm caught - I'm caged
I'm gone

KoRn - Falling away from me

Hey, I'm feeling tired
my time is gone today
you flirt with suicide
sometimes that's ok
Do what others say
I'm here standing hollow
Falling away from me,
Falling away from me,
Day, its here fading
That's when I'm enslaved
I flirt with suicide
sometimes kill the pain
I can't always say;
"It's gunna be better tomorrow."
Falling away from me,
Falling away from me

Beating me down,
Beating me, beating me down,
Down, Into the ground
Screaming some sound
Beating me, beating me down
Down, into the ground.

Falling away, from me,
Its spinning round and round
Falling away from me,
Its lost and can not be found
Falling away, from me,
Its spinning round and round
Falling away, from me,
Slow it down.

Beating me down,
Beating me, beating me down,
Down, Into the ground
Screaming some sound
Beating me, beating me down
Down, into the ground.

Pushing me,
They won't go away
So I pray
Go away!

Life's falling away from me
its falling away from me.
Life's falling away from me
<smallfont color=#999FC5>-Censored-</smallfont>!

Beating me down,
Beating me, beating me down,
Down, Into the ground
Screaming some sound
Beating me,
beating me down
Down, into the ground.

(Falling away from me)
Beating me down,
Beating me, beating (Falling away from me) me down,
Down, Into the ground
(Falling away from me)
Screaming some sound
Beating me,
beating (Falling away from me) me down
Down, into the ground.
