Deep in the expanse of unknown space a small group of 5 ships sat at rest . Having been on the opposite side of Chiss space for the last 2 months much of the news from known space had not reached Lash or his command fleet.
The news of an emperor in the Sovereignty was shocking but not surprising. It was only a matter of time he knew but he had not expected it this soon. and the individual who had moved into the position was not who he had pictured. It seemed that the months he spent in the sovereignty had been a waste now. The Empire would tear itself apart if his information was correct.
Now was a time to see to the prosperity of the Chiss and there neutrality in any battle to come. His people lived careless of the happening in the known regions. Leaving there securities in the hands of the few souls who formed the CEDF.
He sat and listened to the reports which had collected for the past 3 weeks and was taken back at the news of the Federacy threat to the new Empire. His action now would be to withdraw any and all influence with either group in order to stay neutral in any upcoming battles if they may occur.
Lash turned off the vid screen before him and sat back for a moment. closing his eyes he pressed the com button.
" Sub Commander open a channel to our research team on Bespin." The officer at the communications desk made the proper connection then informed Lash he could transmit. Lash sit in deep concentration for moment then began to speak. "To all Chiss forces in and around sovereign space. I am issuing a recall and abandonment order. Please inform the Sovereign officers of your departure and leave all research materials behind. Return to Khar for debriefing and await future orders. "
Lash closed the Com channel then sit back in his chair. The days ahead would be rocky. But he must see to it the Chiss will survive the storm he so feared to come.
