Daniella Manaachia

Never once had the woman looked back when she left the Jedi Order on Coruscant. There was no specific reason why she did it; an accumulation of things, most likely. Her father had recently died and coupled with doubts she had been having, it made for a convenient excuse to take off. It was supposed to be a simple vacation, but the weeks turned into months, the months to years. She didn't even miss Coruscant. There had been times when she thought of certain people--her sister, her master, Loki Ahmrah--but gradually the remembering happened less and less. Cassidy Williams was growing up and moving on.

"Ladies and Gentlemen we are nearing our destination, Coruscant, and should be docking shortly. We ask..."

Well, perhaps not moving on. With a nervous sigh, Daniella Manaachia--as the one-time padawan went by now--finished her third cup of stimcaf. The woman rested her head on her hand absently, checking her reflection on the shiny surface of the napkin dispenser for the millionth time. It wasn't like her to be anxious, but it wasn't often that she contacted old friends out of the blue and told them she was on her way to see them.

What if he's not there?

Daniella cringed at the thought. She didn't think that Loki would do that, but you never knew. It had been twenty years since she'd seen him, and never once before now had she sent him any word. It really had been a horrible thing to do, she realized, but there was no changing that now.

Loki and Cassidy had been on the verge of something when she left. They'd met when they were eleven, and grown up from then on together in the Temple. They'd laughed and cried together, and Cassidy had gone through endless teasing from her sister that one day she would marry her best friend. The girl just shrugged it off, too young to even think of the possibility. Until one day something changed. Suddenly she wasn't a little girl anymore, and Loki wasn't a little boy. The looks between them had gotten a little more serious, grown a little longer. Cassidy found that she was shyer around him, though she didn't know why. All of this had been coming to the surface when she dissapeared.

Please let him be there...

Over and over she thought it, as if thinking it would make it true. Daniella brushed her shoulder-length brown hair back, tucking it behind her ears. She had so much to tell him, so much to say to him. Only, she didn't know 'him' anymore. He was a bona fide man now, not just a teenager.

"God."

Daniella shook her head and ordered another cup of Joe.
