Morg, if you have my number give me a call; When it comes to RX-7(all gens) and Nissan Silvias, I'm a "know it all", but I really do. I can get you one right now for 2K, 94' I think it's the SE( which came In five lug, and has a 2.5 way LSD, great for autocross) I'm a little confussed as to why you would want a car like this. I'm more than willing to help you out, How serious are you about the car? Will this just be a toy, a weekend car, or do you just want something "kind of sporty'? I can tell you a lot, and help you to not get ripped; And zasz, all third Gen' Rx-7 are sequential turbo, and in texas ten large was probubly way to much money. Those cars are great, but climate is a huge issue; Buying them in miami is the biggest pain. There're plenty here, but... be very picky.

Not really. I'd be happy with either an S14 or an S13.

Maybe in the USA, but not all JDM's. The odd run had a large single turbo. More reliable and less complex. Rotaries dont have the lag problems most other motors can have.

For my info and interest, from what you said the 240SX is the same as the 200SX here, except you get L-series 2.4 atmo motor, yes?
If you can get one with the SR20DET motor (doubtful at that price you want), you'll have one with one of the sweetest chassis ever, plus a boomer of a motor. Pity too many drifters and ricers are getting their hands on these things. The L18 turbo is also pretty good. Fit a front mount intercooler, plus a dump pipe and they pick up noticably.

SR20 swaps aren't too uncommon, but the KA24E turbos very well.

Swaps? Ehhh... the Aust and JDM S13/14/15's had the SR20DET standard. That not be the case in the USA? That would be a pity if that's the case, the SR20 is only a poofteenth behind the FJ20 for outright potential. You'ld be best off with the SR20 IMO.
Or be really sick and do a RB26DETT swap

He got a really good deal on an 89' and for the last time, all 3rd gen RX-7s ( FD3S 1.3BRETT ) are all stock twin turbo, ALL of them. A big problem with the third gen ( 91' - 2002' ) is the fourty something vacuum hoses coming from the stock twins. Making it single turbo makes it much faster, and cuts the hose count down to like fifteen or something.

There were late JDM model limited runs with a single and there was a SP (racing homologation) variant with a large single. I believe there was even a JDM very limited edition with the 20B, but I'm only running off possibly false info.
And now, back to the point...
Well? Whats the S13 like? Tell more!

The first two I took before my camera started acting up.
I realize the decklid needs paint, but aside from that its in excellent shape. Needs a new clutch, but I'm going to do that myself.

Nothing wrong with the front chin spoiler, it matchers the car and works.
1) Get new alloys, standard are blech
2) General tidy up and it'll look good, esp with a small rear wing.
3) Cut the springs or frell up the handling, I'll come over there and kill you personally. S13's are pretty good standard and dont need too much to be excellent. A set of 300ZX brakes would be pretty worth it too.
Not bad. Not bad at all.
Explain one thing, WTF is that belt from the A-Pillar supposed to be? I've never seen them in anything other than USA cars. Is that what I suspect it to be, the seatbelt?

Oh, thats the shoulder belt. It slides back. I personally would rather have a more conventional 3 point type deal, but it works fine. The lap belt is a seperate piece.
General tidy up and it'll look good, esp with a small rear wing. Dunno about the wing, but I'm going to have her looking pristine soon.

Man, that's the weirdest belt setup standard I've ever seen - doesnt seem all that safe but..... 4 point harness. That'll fix it :D
Just a nice litte wing. The silva looks great with a fairly small one.
And yes, of course I know you wont do it - just making sure :D - seriously tho, I'm a closet Silva / 200SX fan. I love those things. There's just somethign about a rear wheel, great handler that brings a grin out for me. Silvas aint the quickest in a straight line, even with a full house SR20, but hell, they just have a handling balance a series VI RX-7 can only beat. There really should be more of the S13/14/15 type. Cheapish real sporty handlers, easy modified.
