View Full Version : The Most Predictable Thread of the Week or: New Year's Resolutions

We all make them or at least consider making them. We hardly every stay true to them but we always think about them this time of the year and why is that? Because there is always a way in which we can make our lives better by a lesser or greater margin. So that being said: What is your New Year's Resolution?

For the time being I don't really have one specific resolution so I'm hoping to perhaps find inspiration out of the choices made by you folks here. What is your resolution and why?

I resolve to live my life the way I want to as long as it does not harm others and is legal. Quite simply, I am sick and tired of being made to feel guilty for choices I make regarding my personal life. So, I'm just no going to let anyone do that to me anymore. If I am being responsible, am not causing any wrong disruption to society, and am being considerate, I'm going to proud of my descisions.

EDIT: Also to stop drinking so much soda ^.^;

My ones from this past year

1 - Find new employment (Did that)
2 - Look into more schooling (Did that -- too expensive :x)
3 - Move into a "real" apartment (sort of did that, basements count, right? lol)
4 - Be more out-going (Er, yes...)
5 - Be more artsy
6 - Save money (Didn't do >_<)
7 - Continue looking for my Scottish Cowboy (Where are you?? :cry)

This year, I'm going to force myself to draw at least once a week, even if it's just thumbnails of ideas. Try to be more out-going, or go out more in general. Work on my Japanese writing skills, work on my writing (rping, manga idea, etc)...Stop obsessing over men and my ex-bf in particular. Eat Sundae flavored Smarties and try more flavors of Pocky ;)

I think that's it. :lol Oh yeah, pay off my credit card :x

I resolve to condense all my minor grievances into one long venting essay, dump them in some public place for people to see, and then never speak of them again.

Uh...I forgot mine from last year. I probably didn't do them, so I'm not even going to bother.

1. Lose weight.
2. Walk dog more.
3. Get side business started.
4. Pay off some debts.
5. Save money for Vegas next year.
6. Take vacation of SOME kind - most likely Miami since I have family (and a few pals) there. Haven't taken vacation since 2000. This depends on how I look in a swimsuit though...
7. Get over my thing with not liking people touching me.
8. Finish my certs.

I'm pretty good with acheiving all my goals every year. I hope I can do these.

Happy New Years everyone.

Okay, here's mine. I'm not very good at sticking to my resolutions, but I might as well try, right?

- Lose weight (That's a popular one :\ )
- Actually learn Japanese instead of just saying I will
- Work harder
- Keep working on my drawing
- Work on my writing (stories/RPs, etc.)

I think I might be able to get them this year, but the losing weight one will be the hardest. >_<

Let's see. I'm usually pretty good at keeping my resolutions, so I make them every year. This is what I plan for this year.

- Save up some money to move out of my parents' house
- Draw up an avatar for myself! (lol j/k, but it would be a good thing)
- Work on my writing
- Enter a martial arts tournament
- Get my black belt
- Keep up on my art
