Jaiden Starslinger watched the buildings fly by as she followed her escort to a landing pad. Coruscant was the heart of the New Republic and home of the Greater Jedi Order, where she was headed.

She leaned back in her command chair and took her helmet off, revealing dirty blonde hair. As far back as she could remember, she had loved the stories her father told her about the Jedi Knights. When she found out that she was Force-sensitive, her mind was made that she would become a Jedi.

Before her sister, Mirasta died, she had promised her that she would follow her dream. And now, here she was. She landed her heavily modified A-Wing. She had built the thing from scratch, with a little help from her father.

Once she was landed, she got out and looked around the landing platform. She didn't expect anyone to be out to meet her. She took off her flight suit and threw it into the cockpit.

As she walked away from her baby, she ran a nervous hand through her short hair. This was it. Her dream was finally coming true. Well, it would if she was accepted, but she didn't know why they wouldn't accept her. She really wanted this. She was in good shape, and she knew that the path of the Jedi wasn't an easy one, but she was willing to follow it to the end.

Finally, she found herself inside the recruitment center. Her heart pounded in anticipation as she strode up to the desk. The person working there was occupied, so she waited patiently for them to finish, all the while calming herself down so she didn't look like an over-excited idiot when she spoke with the person at the desk.

The desk clerk by all appearances should have been the one to deal with recruitment, but in actual fact wasn't. A hand set on the woman's shoulder, to alert her to the presence of another. As she turned to look, she was greeted with a bow of the head from a tall, robed figure, "Greetings. I am Jedi Knight Dasquian Belargic. Can I help you with something?"

Jaiden started. She knew her Force powers weren't well developed, but usually, she was able to sense the presence of others. The Jedi standing before her now looked very much like the Jedi she imagined from her father's stories.

"Oh, yes," she said. "I'm sure you get this a lot, but I would like to become a Jedi Knight."

"And why is that?"

Jaiden hoped she didn't sound silly. She ran her hand through her hair a little nervously. "Don't laugh, okay?" she requested before she began.

"Ever since I was a little girl, my father and a close friend of the family have told me stories about the Jedi Knights." She smiled. "I always thought about how noble and brave they were, defending peace and helping people. Ever since then, I've wanted to become a Jedi myself. Our friend, Tress, taught me a little about the Force, and helped me build a lightsaber."

She looked down. "Last year, my sister died. Before she died, she made me promise that I would follow my dream and be a Jedi. So I guess I'm doing it just as much for her as I am for myself."

"I see. It is unwise for someone is untrained to use a lightsaber – you should be careful with that. As for your reasons for joining, they are fine, so long as you understand what being a Jedi entails."

Jaiden nodded. "I haven't used the lightsaber yet. But I do understand what being a Jedi entails. I'm ready to follow that path."

"Very well, then. I welcome you as an initiate to the Jedi Order. You will be informed when your training is to begin. Until that time, you are free to explore the grounds. I would advise visiting the onsite Bar and Grill, so that you may speak to those who it is likely you will be working with. If you do not already have residence on Coruscant, that too is available in the LQ. Good luck."

Jaiden smiled and thanked the Jedi before deciding to take his advice and have a look around.
