Memory leak?

Is there any way to tell if there is a memory leak on my computer and where its coming from?

My photoshop wouldn't let me add text to a signature I was making for a friend for our RP channel/forums. It said that there wasn't enough RAM memory to complete the operation, which is BS because my fiance` just added more memory to the comp.

Which leads me to think that there -might- be a memory leak somewhere.

Any help is appreciated.

check your scratch disks - if they're full, thats what would be doing it

Bear with me as I am very computer illiterate ... what is the scratch disk? We're running windows XP if that makes any difference. Also, I defragged the comp today and cleared out the temp files with the disk clean up.
