This is just the coolest thing that has happened to me all year...
I was walking to my car today and I came across a little bird who could not fly. He looked pretty pathetic lying in the middle of the parking lot, so I picked him up and drove home with the little fella on my lap. He was very well behaved.
Once at home I was able to closer inspect my avian friend. His wings are neither broken nor clipped. He does not appear to be injured outwardly, but he nearly falls onto his side when he walks. I have been drop-feeding him rice water with goldenseal and noni juice, and giving him water. His makeshift home also houses birdseed and grapefruit wedges.
I've named him 'Herbert'.
I think he's a sparrow, but he's a bit big for that. Anywho, I'm extremly happy to have the little guy for a guest. There's something about rescuing an animal, especially now on Christmas, that is very satisfying.
I don't know what the heck is wrong with Herbie, but I'm sure hoping I can help him :)
