Right... don't even bother to poke your head out of the peanut gallery next time.

On a different note... what a finish to the regular season for the NFC. Arizona scores two TD's in about 4 minutes, the second one as time expired, to shock Minnesota, dropping them out of the playoffs and giving the NFC North title to Green Bay, who thumped the Broncos 31-3.

Wow.

Wild Card matchups:

AFC:

(6) Denver
(3) Indianapolis

(5) Tennessee
(4) Baltimore

NFC:

(6) Dallas
(3) Carolina

(5) Seattle
(4) Green Bay

What an absolutely brilliant idea! Thanks! You've opened my eyes If you disagree with a decision...just abandon ship. Unbelievably novel, best Christmas gift I've gotten yet! :headbash

And yeah, what a monumental collapse for the Vikings. It was right there for the taking. All they had to do was not give up 2 TD's in the last 4 minutes to the CARDINALS and they're in.

Nope, can't do it.

yea well i am not worried about the broncos getting beaten so bad because they were basically playing their second and third string team so i don't know if i would call it a thumping (heck they sat plummer, rod smith, shannon sharpe, and even benched al wilson in the 2nd quarter) this game was like having a bye week for them to get healthy for the playoffs which indy did not get to have

Next weeks rematch of that colts/denver game should be highly exciting

Its funny for the first time in a long time Miami was actually really good in December winning 3 games out of 4 yet because they lost that game to Philly the #1 seed of the NFC they get bounced from the playoffs even though they had 10 wins, kind of ironic

and the best thing they could have done was to fire wandstedt with all that talent he has he deserves to be fired if he can't make the playoffs, yet they decided to keep him

Miami needs a big game quarterback in the worst way. Jay Fiedler may be "efficient," and he may even have brief stints of great play, but he's not a big time QB. They rely on Ricky Williams and the defense far too much. When the running game is ineffective, they need a QB that can actually win a game for them. With the kind of receiving talent the Fins have, they can't afford to not have a QB that will get the ball to them for big plays.

The best thing Miami can do is dump Griese, keep Fiedler, and go after a free agent, like Kurt Warner. Open up the QB spot in training camp, and let the guys compete for it.

Thats good idea, there might be a few more QBs out there so they will have options. Man what a wild weekend. Minnesota just can't win on the road for nothing. They look like one of the best teams at home but they look like one of the worst on the road. My Chiefs finally looked good overall nearly shuting out the Bears 31-3. Holmes got his record scoring two td's giving him the rushing record and the overall TD's record. Man and those Wild Card games are going to be insane. I can't see Seattle though winning in GB they will get killed with the way they play on the road. Dallas could surprise Carolina. In the AFC. I still be wary of the Titans with Mcnair they could still get to the Championship game or maybe Super Bowl. Denver/ Indy I don't know it will depends on how the Colts play they have such great talent I just can't understand why they look so inconsisent on offense.

I think the colts can command that game if they can jumpon denver early

because Denver benched the majority of their starters they are going to be a little rusty and denver does not play well from behing (they are a running team and play best with a lead or the game close)

if indy can jump to a lead and force denver to air it out they will most likely win

I thought Mike Shanahan should have played the starters for the first quarter or half to keep them primed

Jedi Master Carr
Dec 28th, 2003, 11:05:28 PM
I know the Chiefs played their starters for about 3 quarters to try to get some momentium I think it is smarter to do that. It will be interesting to watch that Denver-Indy game, Manning has never won a playoff game.

I'd love to see a new QB in Miami, lose Griese and Fiedler and completely retool the offensive line. They were just awful this season. Fiedler's mind is far above his ability and that's also a problem. If you're going to rely on totally on defense and running the ball (a.k.a. controlling the clock), then good for you. But what are you going to do when everyone realises that all you CAN do is run? They put 8, 9 guys in the box force your defense back out on the field after one or 2 sets of downs. They need a QB that can hit a receiver in stride, not make him stop and reach behind for the ball.

Go figure, it's a meaningless game for the Dolphins and Fiedler throws for a season high 328 yards. But more than ANYTHING they need some players with a big case of red <smallfont color={hovercolor}>-Censored-</smallfont>, who despise the thought of losing and fear failure. That's been lacking for a long time now.

Great Season! I won all 3 of these I got in on, definetly a good year for picking :)

As a Pats fan the Bronco's are the one team I'm most worrieda bout, they can easily go into Foxboro and run the ball down the Pats throats.

I don't think the Broncos can win at NE myself. Actually they still have to beat the Colts again which won't be easy, this will be really their third straight road game.

Contrats on the Fantasy Win JMC.

I do have to ask though, how the flock did you manage to get Manning, Harrison, Holmes, James & Gonzalez? Incredibly lucky drafting? :)

Jedi Master Carr
Dec 30th, 2003, 12:19:07 PM
Thanks. Luck I guess. I had Holmes and Manning and then Harrison my top three picks (that I made on that auto) thing. And I got all three some how. I also had Gonzalez like 6th or something. I am sure if I drafted again I wouldn't get that lucky.
