It indeed has changed quite a bit, though in some ways negatively, such as the quieter atmosphere. I definitely see that moving the GJO from ezboard has slowed down newbie traffic.

Depends. You have total noxious <smallfont color={hovercolor}>-Censored-</smallfont> that is a waste no matter the reason, then theres the silliness that helps build a community of posters. Whatever those whom frown upon silliness thinks and want a 100% serious and senible community, that's the way to forum clique and eventually death. Silliness often also allows a n00b to fit in a bit better. Oh, dont get me wrong, most n00bs are real try hards. But you have to put up with that. soem n00bs eventually become worth the time.

I like to try to balance serious with total stupidity. Admittedly, I tend to rub the senibles the wrong way these days, but I do try to make even silly spam funny and have some sort of point, even if it's a minor one. I also make an effort to be sensible when appropriate.

It's a balance that needs to be struck.
