Has anyone ever heard that phrase when someone gets engaged? I'm sure you all have at one time or another, it's maddening!!!

My cousin just proposed to his live-in girlfriend of 4 years and my aunt is bound and determined, 'it's not going to last...'

What the heck? They've been together for 4 years, not going to get married for another year and a half, why rain on their parade?

I'm really agrivated, for crying out loud give'em a chance!!!! I hope they do last and prove everyone wrong, so I'm rooting for them!! Besides, I like her and she's my girl's girl scout leader...

Just had to rant on that!!!

Actually the divorce rate *is* higher if you live together before getting married. ;)

But congrats to them, and I wish them the best. :)

I'd agree with the aunt. Guess that makes me a horrible person.

One of my friends and his fiance lived together for four years, then got married. Five months later he discovered that she was cheating on him, big time, and they got divorced. Yeah, living together doesn't always mean you'll stay married long.

My parents have been living together for sixteen (I think ^_^; ) years, and although they have never once entertained the idea of getting married, I'm sure if they did it would be fine. It just depends on the people.

Hope the best for your cousin and his fiance. :)

A lie. They almost got hitched once in Vegas, but then pops fell for that waitress in the bunny costume.

Second, while I don't see the big point in getting married (other than the legal benefits), if your cousin and his girlfriend are prepared for it and want to , more power to them. It's nobody elses business how they choose to work their relationship.

I suppose some have the natural nack for getting married, being married.

I myself won't do it again...but still I feel that if they have that nack, leave them alone...

I figured Smeagol was gay after that first scene. Saying "My love" to that other guy. Unless I got the wrong impression, and he was talking to the ring. :lol |I
