AFI's Top 10 List

Award season continues. Here's the AFI's list in alphebetical order. In the last 2 years they've nailed 4 of the 5 nominees on their list...so expect several of these to be among the chosen few come January when nom's are announced.

There are some notable absences on this list(Cold Mountain, Seabiscuit, Big Fish) that have Oscar watchers everywhere going nuts.

I am a little surprised that Cold Mountain didn't make it. I still see it as a lock. I think this is bad for Seabiscuit and Big Fish really.

I still hope that Seabiscuit gets in but it's looking less and less likely at this point. :(

Not really. I think '21 Grams' is an acting/writing nominee, but it hasn't been considered a BP type of movie for a few weeks now.

Critics Groups are giving out there awards like mad now....

New York Film Critics - :
Best Film Lord of the of the Rings: Return of the King(shocker - NY typically awards small films or art films. If NYFC get behind this, we may be looking at a "Titanic" like sweep)

After all this - looks like LIT may have more buzz going for it than I thought. I had it pegged around the 9nth most likely go get in. Looks higher than that.

LIT might snag that 5 nod right now.

Hard to say...it might be a critical darling that doesn't resonate as much with voters(like 'Far From Heaven' last year). We'll have to see.

I am shocked at how well it's doing in the initial critic honors.
