Most people RP themselves in their own craft and NPC those around by describing what they do from his/her perspective. You could take control of everything at once, but the organization required would be horrendous. Different situations call for different viewpoints, use whatever veiwponit fits the circumstances. You don't need to account for every single ship(the post would end up insanly long and boring).

I am developing a state of the art fighter called the "TIE Devil". This fighter should prove to perform exceptionally, be 10 times as cheap as competing Starfighters, and be nearly invulnerable to enemy fighters.

These starfighters shall take up approximately 1/27th the volume of a standard Starfighter, having these extroardinarily small dimensions. Not only will this allow for perhaps 20 times as many starfighters to be kept on board starships, but the small size of these starfighters will prevent all but the most skilled enemy pilots from targeting them.

In addition to their small size, these ships have a small targeting profile, as they are shaped as a 3 meter long/high ball.

True, but the original post occured in august/september 2000 at the old TIE board. I reposted it word for word at the GMA board 1/17/01 because by then Thrawn had defected/stopped RPing and was going through his board and denying access to forums, and I didn't want to lose track of the TIE Devil specs.

I'd still prefer a defender over that. The defender has a hyperdrive so it doesn't need a drop ship to get to remote areas. Plus it can follow fleeing craft. Although a drop ship is good for reloading and repair.

A hyperdrive addition would mean a larger power supply. I still prefer the defender. It is far superior save the speed part. It has shields a hyperdrive and more weapons.

I think I sold you guys some TIE Executioner original models (i.e. MKI's) a while back...

Those have the original ball cockpit (though it's a bit elongated and the viewport is modified to give the pilot a much better view of the battle)

The wings are more angular, but still use the solar design. They're basically regular technology, which is good, you won't have to run to the Federacy for parts :)

I like save using lasers in afterburn but I understand the concept of not firing. In afterburn you could catch your own shot and have it kill you(If you had no shields. Wait the bolt is tuned to go through the shields of the craft it's fired from. Damn that sucks.)
