Obviously, these are going to be highly coveted vessels because, bean-counting or not, only so many of these ships can realistically be rolling off of the assembly lines at any given time.

The Defender is the perfect blend of speed, firepower, shielding, and reliability. MC-90's, MC-80B's, and Defenders will gradually be distributed throughout the fleet, preference being given to key locations. The older MC-80's will either be shunted to lower-priority locations, scrapped, or otherwise released back to Mon Calamari for whatever use our steadfast allies on that ocean world believe that the MC-80's are good for. There's been talk of Mon Calamari setting up her own personal defense force, and they believe that their older cruisers would make an excellent backbone to the fleet.
