Objectives:

1) Become the power behind the throne of Onderon
RP - The Demon Moon - incomplete

2) Raise a better army/navy
RP - none a.t.m., this should become ongoing

As I see it the navy of Onderon consists of a few squadrons of Uglies, TIE/X-wing/whatever hybrids. Enough to protect from the random pirate attack from space, and not much else. They've been off the map for a thousand years, they don't need anything else.

Army - Mandalorian warriors, and the Iziz City army. These need to be integrated under Aexar's leadership, and the Beastriders should be enlarged. ...also we'd need ships to transport the beasts in...

3) Have at least 10 knight or above members.

4) Poss. ally with Krath and begin assault on the Republic or the Empire. Or TSO. Or GJO. OR ALL OF THEM.>D

Thoughts? :)

Silus and I were talking, a while back, about involving the Cabal somehow (since Raz was getting trained by you). Only problem is the small member count for it (and the Krath of course).

I really don't like the idea of having an army or navy under the KA banner. For planetary defense, of course but anything else is in poor taste. Sith and Jedi shouldn't mix with military in my opinion. Having said that, up against TSO we wouldn't have much of a chance when it comes to fleets; their's is much bigger and powerful.

I was thinking that perhaps another objective could be that each member of the KA adopts an alternate alias in different areas of business and industry to give us an insider's advantage - maybe someone could be involved interplanetary comms or holonet, perhaps someone could work for the Empire, another in the New Republic, perhaps someone could work in banking to obtain inverstors or some less than legal funds, perhaps someone could be involved in the criminal underworld, someone in the drugs scene, another in the bounty hunters arena. Who knows? Just a thought, maybe it's do-able, perhaps not.

To ally with the Krath/Cabal would be a good idea methinks. I'm not one for Darksiders becoming buddy-buddy but we have members of the Krath/Cabal in the KA already, this would erradicate some of the issues this raises plus it means we don't have to be friendly, just business partners. :)

I think another interesting thing to do would be to have members of the KA learn to ride either the Onderon beasts or the Mandalorian's Basilisks. We could use them along with some troops and fighters to pull off small scale military operations. Bottom line is that I can't see the KA or Krath becoming anything near an opposition with fleets when it comes to the nR or the Empire. And I don't think I'd want it to either.

but what about starting the next sith war? :cry

Wouldn't that be fought on the ground, and not with fleets? ^_^;

Yes, yes - to Daria you listen! /Yoda

:mischief

Edit:

Having said that, who's to say our first group roleplay can't be stealing ships from either the New Republic or Empire? Not a bad way to get some ships and have a decent first roleplay together to see how we co-ordinate. :)

I've been having a thought, a way of integrating some of the proposals and really introducing the Kuklos Ataxia and allys as The Enemy. I was thinking we could have a good, old fashioned trap.

First and foremost, since Iziz has at it's very essence an Iron Curtain nature about it; nothing goes out and precious little comes in - we even have this ideology made physical through the great city walls so why don't we make use of the walls and the lack of intergalactic news regarding our little planet?

So far, Iziz and the people of Onderon have minded their own business, fighting their ongoing feud for supremacy with the Mandalorians for generations and all without so much of a squeak of interest from either Jedi or New Republic. We use this to our advantage.

To begin with, we fortify the city with reinforced buildings and walls, build atop of these fortifications anti-personnel and anti-starfighter turrets, then we max out our regular Iziz forces and along with the Mandalorian army completely militarize the city. Soldiers will patrol the streets every minute of everyday, there'll be maximum security with cameras and the like everywhere, essentially turning Iziz into a Big Brother Redux. Reasons for this are to follow.

Then cutting to the chase we allow GNN to get their grubby hands on footage from the manhy battles waged between the Mandalorians and Iziz forces, with footage of us Sith in action within the city and add to that reports of Sith attempting to overrun Iziz with their own forces and that will be sure to attract Jedi attention. Now that the galaxy will be more aware of the Onderon situation, we should expect some Divine Intervention from the Jedi and perhaps even New Republic forces.

These do-gooders come to liberate a city in turmoil, expect to find half of the place in ruins and we create this illusion as they enter the city; smoke billows, bodies lie lifeless in the streets, maybe a bit of wall damaged here and there, etc. etc. Then once they're all inside, the gates close, the shields go up and the defenses are activated once again. Before they know what's hit them, the Jedi and NR are overhwhelmed by an army of Onderon troops, Beastriders, Mandalorians and Basilisks all united under the KA banner. A massacre will ensue.

It will be beautiful. :cry

I think this is a good idea...I never really intended to get all swamped with "fleets" etc, but I do want to get involved in the grand sceme of things. So, I think that your last post is a great idea. But before we can do that we'll have to have the credits to fortify the city

We'll have to have the man power (more knights) to put our trap together, and we'll have to have the ships to take out whatever escort the Jedi/NR might bring to us.

After all a few squadrons isn't anything impressive. :D

That's the idea, the above plan gives rise to the need to:

2) Raise a better army/navy

So it all fits together nicely. That whole trap thing is just a possible objective but a nice one to work towards if we wish to run with it in the future. :)

Could you guys use a fleet of dreadnaughts?

Mayhaps the 'Titan Fleet'?

Silus Xilarian

Unless we could hide it, owning the Titan Fleet would pretty much stamp us as a hostile threat to the NR. The Uproar in the Senate thread proved this. In fact, if it hadnt been for Balmorra's embassador's quick wit and charm *cough* Balmorra would have been at war.

Also, why dont we re-fortify the old beastrider fortress and start breeding Warbeasts there. After all, the more room we have to breed these things, the faster we can build an army of them.

Also, we need to continue TBH tradition of dropping Jedi we kill over the Jedi order with messages nailed to them. The Jedi never seem to care or get offended by it, but its still fun.

And another question. What kind of ground troops do we have besides Mandalorians, and do we need more ground troops?

Garrett Blade

Just a thought - since Garrett's an uber-powerful necromancer, we wouldn't have to worry about casualties in battle. Also, coupling his necromantic powers with sith powers such as alchemy, we could come up with some pretty terrifying troops and beasts of war. Merge that with bio-mechanics and we've got our own unique nightmare army. Very sith-like if you ask me.

Lilaena De'Ville
Dec 1st, 2003, 10:33:44 AM
Garrett, if you wouldn't mind, do you think you and Naj could start something like that? Naj is very into that sort of thing and could use the training in it.

But keep in mind, we already have a 'nightmare' army, with the beastriders. Most people won't have seen anything like that. As long as we can figure out how to transport them (should we need to, which we may never need to) off planet.

So, I guess what I'm asking is a combination of your and Silus' ideas. Rebuild and fortify the old beastrider fortress, and breed more of the beasts, plus you could invent a variation on the beasts (use Gav's description in Demon Moon if you want to know what they look like, he did a great job) as a sort of 'uber trooper'....?

But please take my apprentice Naj with you, he'd like that. :p

I agree with this 100%, we don't want any huge flashing lights above the planet, and a fleet of that size would certainly do that. So thanks to our ally, TBE, but we'll have to decline.

We want better ships than what we have, yes, but not a huge fleet. I'm thinking our mode of attack would be hit and fade , and so we'd need smaller, faster ships.

Ugh we'll have to train the Mandalorians how to fly spaceships again. :x ;)

Ok, kill a Jedi, and feel free. :)

Besides the Mandalorians, we have the men used by Iziz city for it's defense...no idea what the exact number would be, but they'd be Onderon's standing army. 500 men + 375 beast riders = 875? Does that sound right? I'm grasping at straws.

Mandalorians I'd say number close to 700 total, but Charley would have a better idea about that than me.

Well, all these ideas sound great. I especially like the trap plan.

If you want to pull in some more stealthy soldiers, we could go capture the Doz'rah and set them loose to cause some mass confusion.

Ive toyed with the thought of having a kuto subgroup started after Daria is strong enough to train them.........thats entirely up to Jenny though, as she would have to be the one taking apprentices for it.

Also, an introduction to sith alchemy and mutation for Naj would be great, if our resident lunatic is up for babysitting.

Yeah. It would be maybe only one or two PC characters, so as to not totally remove all unique-ness from them.

EDIT-
PS. Make me a general in the army. General Nytherciria sounds suweet :smokin

EDIT: Yeah, you dont really need a whole group of Kuto...they would work really well as assassins. Stealthy and overpowering mental skillz. By the time the guards remember who they are, she's back home gettin PAID.

I don't see why the Doz'rah would have to be individually RPed...much like Charley is doing with the Mandalorians, they're not unique RP characters....if you know what I mean?

Integrating a group of them into our 'forces' would be cool.

About the NPC Doz'rah group.

We'd need at least on PC to be something of a captain, just someone to keep them in line while Daria is off with Naj causing havoc. We have plenty of room for them to roam about on Koros Major, so they'll be able to stay sharp and everything.

That's what I meant, I don't really want one of K.A. starting a new character to do this. It's not a good idea. Letting Daria, an existing character, do it is much better. :)

Peter and I have been talking and after coming up with something we've spoken with Christin and Hera, they agreed so we have a roleplay planned which will put the KA in a comfortable position when it comes to military and naval forces. The idea is as follows:

The New Republic, now having recovered after their battles to overthrow the Empire and take back Coruscant, having finished the majority of rebuilding and repairs on planet and now have to beef up their defenses.

During the period of rebuilding, plans for a military evolution were laid out which involves implementing the construction of top-of-the-range weaponry, vehicles and ships using revolutionary new technology.

Designs for everything from new starfighters to blasters to planetary shields to armour, etc. etc. have been produced by the leading manufacturers in preparation for this military evolution.

The plans and schematics are stored in a maximum security facility on Coruscant and little else is known about the location of the files or the content except that were an independent organisation, such as ShadowFaene for example, to get their hands on these files their value on the black market would be almost priceless.

Garrett Blade will meet with his friend, Hera and talks will begin. The deal is that if members of the KA; Garrett and Gav thus far, team up with with ShadowFaene operatives, Hera and s'Il, to obtain these files then the KA can have a copy of the files while SF gets the profits from black market distribution.

In conclusion, KA forms an ally in SFF and obtains plans for the latest weapons and starfighters, etc. to give them a real edge in military combat should we need it.

Is anyone else interested? I'd like to get this one started ASAP so that the idea doesn't turn stale and die.

*bump*

I'd like to do some sort of intro thread to this RP in which we gather our little group together. Basically all our interactions have been between masters and apprentices only, not apprentice to apprentice or master and master.

So I think we might call a meeting of the knights and masters, and the apprentices will come with their teachers.

thoughts?

Also, I forgot to mention. IC Silus is buddies with the head of Research and Development at Balmorra Laboratories. Droids, ships, personal weaponry....if we want something designed, I can make it happen.

The biggest thing there though. By themselves, Balmorra Labs cant mass produce. They just do the design and planning, and they arent cheap. If we need something mass produced, we'll have to find another company to do it.
