This is GREAT IMO. I can really see this working.

I can really see it working too. I like the choices of Bale and Caine a lot. And with Christopher Nolan directing, my hopes are officially up for this.

Caine is a good choice, he is a great actor and I can see him as Alfred. Now who is going to play Gordon? I heard rumors about Morgan Freeman I hope they turn out to be true.

I kinda liked the look Alfred had in the other four Batman films (forgpt the actors name), but I can definitely see Caine playing Alfred with no prob.

Michael Gough? He's like 86 years old now and may be just too old now to continue. Besides, it seems as though they're going younger with Bale as Batman, so it only makes sense to make Alfred younger as well.

I am not sure if Gough even acts anymore. I am certain they will go with a younger Gordon too (Pat Hingle is got to be his 80's as well) My choice is Morgan Freeman he would make a good commisioner Gordon.

I agree. He's always good. Other good choices could be (IMO)Gene Hackman, Dennis Farina, Albert Finney and maybe Chris Cooper.

News on Batman just keeps getting better and better. I am so psyched for this film since learning Nolan is going to concentrate on shadowy noir of Batman's detective tales. This is going to be a much darker and atmospheric film than we seen in any previous adaptation. Morgan Freeman is perfect as Commissioner Gordon. Hope we see it happen.

I dont know how it could get much darker from any of the previous - if youre talking sets, atmosphere, etc. They were all a bit too dark already for my liking, tho I really enjoyed the first one with Keaton :)

No, I mean Batman's role will be murkier and create a more engaging figure. More anti-hero cast.

More like the Daredevil tone. Mainly due to the same guy influencing both :D

Heh. Yeah, the legendary Frank Miller. Gawd, I loved his writing for Daredevil during the early to mid- 80s. It hasn't arisen again to that pinnacle. I used to collect the Batman titles during the 90s (especially early) but have long forgotten the artists and writers. Great stuff, very mature and dark. Don't know what kind of a personality those titles have now. :\

Daredevil is GREAT these days, the book won an Eisner this year. Batman is doing well too, but I don't like the people on it.

Reap, I used to have a fabulous comic store nearby that sold nearly every independent title ever published but they moved quite a great distance away. Online dealers don't help because they just lose me. I collected the Batman titles over a period of maybe five-six years, actually the Nightfall storyline would probably bisect them (the years) about even.
