View Full Version : NFL Week 13 Picks FIRST PICKS 12.30PM ET THURSDAY

Figrin D'an
Nov 24th, 2003, 11:39:00 PM
Alright everyone... pay attention, or you'll get behind by a couple of games. As is tradition on Thanksgiving, Detriot and Dallas host games. Because of the short turnaround between picks threads, this week's slate will be handled similar to Week 1, when the season opened on a Thursday.

You have two options:

1) Pick the Thursday games first, then in a separate post, pick the remaining games.

-OR-

2) Pick all of the games for Week 13 in one post.

Either option is acceptible. Just remember not to edit your post once the games begin, or you will forfeit the picks made in that post.

Thursday games must be submitted by 12:30PM ET on Thursday. Remaining games must be submitted by 1PM ET on Sunday.

@$%^!( I keep wanting to pick Dallas but Miami's corners are probably going to make the difference. The Fins can stop Dallas from running which will force Carter to throw. He's a MUCH better QB than last year, but ANY QB can struggle against Miami's secondary. Dallas' defense should keep the game close, but I think Miami will be able to eek out enough of an offense, especially with Fiedler back, to win the game. Still, Parcells has them believing they can beat anybody. I just don't know what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ah screw it, T-Buck takes a chance and gets burned by Glenn or Galoway, Cowboys win it in the 4th quarter.)

You are really bold, SD defense stinks KC should score 40 on that horrible D, plus Flutie hasn't looked too hot the last two weeks.

You digress from the real facts here. Doug Flutie is the MAN. And if San Diego wins, it'll be tight.

Jedi Master Carr
Nov 25th, 2003, 10:25:46 PM
He is a 40 + yo man that is a problem. Really SD can't win in a scoring contest if they have to pass the ball to win they just won't it will be 44-24 KC that is just the way it is. The only chance SD has is to run Thomblison and try to slow the game down. Still SD's defense is horrible one of the worst in the NFL so I expect KC to come out scoring early.

SD won't win in a shootout KC's offense is too good. As I said the only way they will beat KC is by slowing the game down, which I suspect Marty will try at least but knowing how much of a moron he is he will mess it up :p Actually the only hope for the chargers will be when they finally fire that idiot Schottenhiemer.

Ok, I know Favre's thumb is still sore, but Green Bay's OL was simply pathetic.

Man, that was a bad finish for GB

Figrin D'an
Nov 27th, 2003, 02:51:04 PM
I was surprised Green Bay couldn't run the ball effectively. They were flat early, and though the defense got better later in the game, the offense put them in awful positions, allowing Detriot to get easy points.

I agree... after playing so well for the past 5 weeks, the O-Line was terrible.

Jedi Master Carr
Nov 27th, 2003, 03:01:10 PM
I think they thought they could beat Detroit by just showing up which is a huge mistake on Thanksgiving day considering you knew Detroit would be motivated. Still GB is not out of it they got to play Chicago, Oakland, San Diego, and Denver all four they could win. Three of them are terrible and Denver looks like is falling apart. And I know for a fact Minnesota will lose two more games, I am certain St. Louis will blow them out and KC can beat them in a few weeks too.

Jedi Master Carr

JMK

I can't believe the way the Dolphins are playing. I haven't seen them look this good on offense in the past couple years. Though I'm not counting out a Parcells coached team yet.

Nathanial K'cansce
Nov 27th, 2003, 07:27:26 PM
Wait, I thought Dallas had a top notched defense? Maimi ate them up and chewed them out.

Ah well, 0-2 to start the week. w00tw00t

Jedi Master Carr

I think Dallas is just not that good. I'd say Philadelphia will catch them now. Actually the NFC looks horrible the Eagles might be the best team in the conference and could easily win it.

Nathanial K'cansce
Nov 27th, 2003, 09:01:40 PM
The Eagles? *shudder*

Actually, I was surprised that they had a good a record as they do. I won't put any money into a team in the NFC yet though. Philly's got a tough game this weekend against Carolina.

*blinks*

Whoever thought a game against Carolina would be tough? o_O

Jedi Master Carr
Nov 27th, 2003, 09:49:44 PM
I think Philadelphia is playing great right now Mcnabb has finally woke up. What is sad is I think the NFC is going to get crushed in the SB. I think the Chiefs, Titans, Patriots and Colts could all kill the top 4 teams in the NFC in the SB.

It wasn't even almost that last TD came as time expired so the game wasn't that close. Actually Flutie killed their chances fumbling the ball away and then Chiefs scored a TD to put the game away.

Now to be fair most people thought they be better than this. I didn't think they make the SB again but I though they get to the playoffs I didn't see them falling like this. Also what about the Jets and Titans what an ugly first half. Mcnair and Pennington both have played awful.

Jedi Master Carr
Dec 1st, 2003, 11:07:22 PM
Wild game Jets spoiled the titans there. I think Tennessee took them too lightly now this helps out the Chiefs and Patriots, the patriots have a tie breaker over both the Colts and Titans so if they end up tied they get the tie breaker. The chiefs now have a two game edge over Tenn and Indy and a game over NE. Also I got lucky I picked the upset of the week :)

Maybe I can make a comeback, I am 6 games back it is possible. Man next week is going to be tough a lot of big games

Miami vs New England
Kansas City vs Denver
Indy vs Tennessee
Cincinnatti vs Baltimore
Dallas vs Philadelphia

That is a lot huge important games.

jjwr
Dec 2nd, 2003, 05:54:25 AM
Next week is huge. While the Pats don't need the Miami wiin it would make things a whole lot easier if they can take them down. On the flip side if the Dolphins drop that game they could be tied for the Wildcard and already having lost the division, a lot more pressure as December looms.

Colts vs Titans is another huge one, if the Colts can pull off the win they've got a great shot at the division and at least a 1st round home game while the Titans will be relegated to the WC and a tough road game.

All things considered I gotta cheer for the Bronco's & Titans. I'd much rather keep the Colts down with the lower seed, if they've gotta come to New England in January the Pats chances are definetly improved.

X.I.M.

Anyone watch MNF? Chad Pennington continues to impress me for a young quaterback, he really will be the future of this Jet's team. Him and Santana Moss.

Anyone see the pop-up in the air grab Sanatana made from his teamate who fumbled? I think it made SportsCenter's #1 on Top10.

Overall, I thought it was a good game.

Jedi Master Carr
Dec 2nd, 2003, 12:37:57 PM
I would rather have the Titans on the road in a cold stadium (Arrowhead or Foxboro) either place I am not sure they can win. Although I think the Colts would struggle just as much or maybe more. Right now I think the Chiefs and Pats will be getting the first round byes although nothing is guarenteed.
