Deperate times, my friend.

The vaccine isn't being tested for effectiveness, according to the article. That does take a little of the shine off the announcement, but progressing to human trials is nonetheless an important step.

That is very cool news. The Ebola virus is nasty nasty nasty, and if there is anything we can do to stop it, it should be gone for with both guns blazing. Bravo, science, bravo.

i remember reading the hot zone - that book scared the living daylights out of me

it was an interesting read, but because it was true, it was pretty unsettling

I remember that book all too well. It's one of the most terrifying books I've ever read. So many people don't realize just how lucky we were to avoid a massive Ebola outbreak.

Yeah, the Hot Zone was pretty much the scariest nugget of nonfiction I've ever cracked open.

The thought of catching hemhorragic fever...I'd rather kill myself.
