I just got woke up by my cell phone ringing off the hook. I went to pick it up, and its my mom. Both my parents are driving down from Birmingham to Tuscaloosa for the Bama vs LSU game, and my mom, knowing that its really hard to find a parking spot on gameday, asked me if I needed her to pick anything up at the grocery store.

"Do you need any grocery stuff while we're at the store."

"Uh...can't think of much. If you're going maybe pick up some rice, and chips & salsa?"

Then, the shocker.

"Ok, oh...and do you need any beer for gameday?"

-WHAT-

That came out of nowhere.

"Sure?"

"How much, and what kind?"

:eek

"Uh, half case of Bud light?"

"Cans, or longnecks?"

:D

"...longnecks!" :crack

WTF! My mom is buying me beer and delivering it to the house. What a great day!

Lucky you. But it'd be funny if she plonked the bill on your doorstep too! :p

Was the same with my tattoo. My mom paid for half of it. She's cool like that.

Hah, thats tight. My moms not like that. My dad is though. I'm going to scotland soon, which has the best beer in the world (or so I hear). I'm going with just my dad too, should be pretty tight.

uh what?

Who told you Scotland had the best beer, and why are they not dead?

WRONG.

McEwans is alright, and there are some others that are decent, but realistically, Scotland doesn't make the best beer, not by a long shot

She also brought me a wheel of smoked gouda cheese. This stuff is awesome.

In addition, I got a pair of binoculars for my birthday, so I can watch up-close all the action in my last game as an Alabama student.

Really? Well, maybe nobody told me that. But I have lots of friends that have been there, as well as my dad and they always come back talking about the beer. Maybe I'm just mistaken. I do know they have pints for breakfast though. That would be pretty ackward...

And that's different than the Irish and English because?

Seriously. Ireland and England have much better beer.

Go to Ireland for a stout, and England for an ale.

Anything in between is better in the states.

hm thanks for the tips. Next summer I plan to spend a month or two in europe, so I'll see then.

Lagers are generally better in Germany, but I haven't found many brews on the continent that are spectacular.

Germany - Paulaner Hacker-Pschorr Weisse Dark, Weihenstefaner Hefeweizen, and Kohstriker Schwartzbier

Czech Republic - Pilsner Urquell

Those are the best, IMO

My mom would never buy me any alcohol. Even if it was a measly wine cooler which isn't that bad at all. :/ Lucky. But then again, I'm underage.

My mom isn't big about alcohol either, which is why its so weird.

My mom did give me money whenever I asked though, and she never really cared about my grades as long as I was passing. So she was cool in that aspect.

My mom buys me beer, wine and liquor on the tax free, because of the money to save, but thats about it.

Buying me a tatoo? No way. Now thats just scary <img src=http://thegjo.com/smileys/scared.gif>

The family took me out today, and although I had no appetite (mostly due to being wasted off my butt most of the day yesterday), we went to eat. I had maybe 10 bites of food in total, and doggy-bagged the rest. They gave me 120 bux, the shooter's bible, a nice ribbed zipping sweater turtleneck and a grey canvas shirt, both of which look really sharp but kinda gay. Oh well, I like em :cool

Then on top of that, they passed all the food they had brought for the game to me. I got a half dozen doughnuts, pork rinds, a sack of sausage biscuits, smoked gouda cheese, chips & salsa, and bananas. WTF, so I'm totally set on my grocery needs.

Not bad for a weekend's work.

lol Makes me miss being near my family. I moved too far away to get stuff from them like that.
