A question of rank and ability

Rivin is a Knight. Rivin is using Force Lightning.

I was of the impression this was a Lord/Master ability. Am I the only one that thinks this?

I was under the impression that Knight could learn Force Lightning.

For example, in the JK games, even with a Knight rank you can use Force lightning, albiet it's weak and not long lasting.
