"Hey kid, you sure about this?"
"Uh-huh."
"...Sure, sure? 'Cause I ain't stoppin' 'long the way."
Cassidy Williams rolled her eyes as she tossed a pack into the belly of the little ship.
"Uh-huh."
Behind her a burly man with next-to-no teeth frowned. He'd known the child since she was young, known her father at least. He knew that she was smart for her age, but in past experiences Cassidy had been known to make rash decisions. The man, whose name was Rak Sulou, scratched his chin thoughtfully and looked down at the half-pint of spunk.
"Look kid, I dunno if your old man would wan' you to do this..."
Cassidy let out a little growl and spun around, her long brown hair whipping with added effect. The pre-teen put her hands on her hips--a familiar pose--and glared up at Rak.
"He doesn't care! I told you already, I'm sure about this! I don't want to stay on Coruscant anymore! Why does everybody keep askin' me?!"
By 'everybody' she meant old associates of her fathers. Cassidy hadn't bothered to tell anyone at the Jedi Temple that she was leaving. Well, she'd left a note for Loki, but that was about it. The padawan had packed some clothes and credits, and taken her books of course. it had been easy to persuade Rak to allow her to hitch a ride to Corellia. He was a softy when it came to kids.
Rak sighed and shrugged helplessly.
"Alright kid, your choice. I gotta get a few thin's taken care of but I'll be back inna hour or so. Make yourself at home."
He gestured to the ship and Cassidy nodded. She watched his retreating back lumber through the crowds like a freighter and then let her shoulders slump down. She was miserable. The padawan loved living at the temple, but it was so...hard not knowing where her sister was. She was still angry at Xazor, but it was now overshadowed by a great deal of guilt and regret.
So, in the mind of a twelve-year old, the only thing to ddo was to start fresh.

“Hello.”
The girl turned around to look for the voice that had spoken to her, but there didn’t seem to be anyone there.
“Up here.”
As her eyes raised, they came to settle upon a peculiar sight. A young woman with wild red hair was sat cross-legged looking directly at her. This wasn’t the odd part, of course. The unusual part about it all was that she was sitting on the underside of the wing of Sulou’s ship.
“You don’t look very happy,”
She said, not letting gravity worry her as she watched the inverted image of Cassidy’s face for a reaction.

Leten Had been digging through garbage bins and dumpsters at one of the spaceports, when he couldn't help but over hear some of a conversation just outside of the dumpster he was in...
"He doesn't care! I told you already, I'm sure about this! I don't want to stay on Coruscant anymore! Why does everybody keep askin' me?!"
"Alright kid, your choice. I gotta get a few thin's taken care of but I'll be back inna hour or so. Make yourself at home."
Leten pokes his head out of the dumpster to see Cassidy standing there watching the man leave. With only his head poking out of the dumpster, the 13 year old boy says...
"I'm sorry miss, but I couldn't help but overhear a bit of what you were talking about, and I was wondering, why would you want to run from Coruscant? This is a nice place to live, even if all you have is Junk."
Leten hops out of the dumpster...
"My name is Leten Snat.... If all you are trying to do is get away from somebody , I know of a number of good hiding spots here on this planet... I know the streets and lower floors better than most people, and if you want My help, I would be quite willing to in any way I can..."

Lion El' Jonson
Nov 2nd, 2003, 07:44:59 AM
Lion El' Jonson, Jedi Padawan, slowly made his way through the crowds on Landing Pad HC297, shoving through the multitudes of species and trying to shut out the incredible variety of languages assaulting his ears. A female Gand on Lion's right yelled at the top of her voice, trying to sell her Debil fruits. At the same time a bunch of Shrivkrees were yelping, hawking their wares to the crowd. Lion shook his head in resignation and focused on not running over a Kowakian Monkey Lizard that was streaking between the legs of the Gamorreans infront of him.
He was so focused on the scene at his feet (the Gamorrean had caught the Kowakian Monkey Lizard and apparently was deciding whether or not to eat him...) that he ran smack into a nearly toothless man that bore a strange resemblance to a block of concrete and knocked him flat on his rear. Lion started, his armored bulk barely feeling the impact. Leaning over, Lion reached out a hand and helped the toothless man up, repeatedly apologizing for his clumsiness. The toothless man merely rubbed his neck, gave a gruff nod, and continued on, muttering something about Coruscant.
Lion finally broke through the flow of the crowd, emerging next to one of the landing pads. On it sat a curious little ship, steam billowing from a couple of vents as the engines warmed to 'standby' mode. However, the ship was nothing interesting when compared to the scene taking place near it.
A woman was sitting, cross-legged and upside down, on the ship's wing. At the same time, a blonde kid that Lion vaguely recognized was poking his head out of a dumpster. Both of them appeared to be addressing the same person, a young girl with long brown hair. Lion took a step back and leaned against a nearby wall, trying to remember who the three people were.
The woman was Arriana Rezner, as Lion remembered meeting her briefly on the temple grounds. The blonde kid was named Leten, Lion was quite sure, as he had accompanied them on a little adventure with Xazor. But he was having trouble placing the other girl. He took a deep breath and ran through a list of names in his head: Dasquian, Marcus, Anbira, Xazor, Wei, Zeke...
Lion winced for a second and backed up through the list of names.
"Xazor..." he thought to himself. "...Ah...that'd be Ms. Williams, then..." he continued, finally figuring out the identity of the pre-teen. Lion continued leaning against the wall, not eager to intrude on their conversation...
"...not until I've heard a bit of it, anyways..." he added, trying to focus on hearing what they were talking about.

Cassidy looked up at the fiery-haired woman with shock. The girl had not led a sheltered life by any means but she had never been approached with conversation quite like this. Cassidy was open-minded though (one had to be with a history like hers), and so didn't take too long to close her gaping mouth.
Had it been any other day the girl would have thought twice before answering. However, it was today and she was feeling very upset about her situation. The upside-down woman was in the right place at the right time.
Cassidy nodded glumly and put her chin in her hands.
"That's because I'm not happy. My life is over."
Just then a boy hopped out of a dumpster, bringing along with him a suggestion as to what Cassidy could do. She listened, and then shook her head.
"No. I hafta leave the planet. It's the only way."

Arriana simply smiled at the boy’s remark - her species didn’t experience such discomforts as those he suggested.
“And to deny the option to leave is denying yourself a thousand and one new experiences.”
The trademark Kalish bright-cyan eyes fixed on Cassidy.
“Why go to Corellia? All you will find there is oppression from the Sith Order. I can think of far more exciting places to go. Places like where I am going.”

Cassidy hesitated, biting her lower lip. She was smart enough not to just go along happily with a complete stranger. Especially one who had seemed to materialize out of nowhere. So she stalled while weighing the option carefully.

The young Jedi padawan frowned, the idea growing strangely more compelling by the second. Cassidy looked at the bright-eyed woman, then to the boy, and then back at Arriana.
"Could I...If I did, and I didn't like it,"
She paused, now not even sure if she should ask.
"I mean, I could always just leave right? I could just go to take a look, and if it's not right, I can go."
Lion El' Jonson

Lion suddenly grinned and detached himself from the wall, walking up behind Cassidy as she leaned in close to Arriana. He waited a second, then added, casually:
"From what I've heard of your conversation, Miss, I gather you're considering...running from here?" he said, keeping his voice level. "May I ask why? You've given neither a reason to go nor a reason to stay, but without either reason I fear you're destined to stand about on this landing pad for a very long time indeed."
Looking amused, Lion leaned against the dumpster alongside Leten and watched for somebody's reaction.

The child turned to look at Lion, slightly annoyed. It had nothing to do with the man, really, simply that he was echoing the negative sentiments that she'd heard all morning.
"It's personal."
Maybe if Cassidy had a bit more humility she would have taken into consideration what the two males were trying to say. Instead it only served to make her want out even more. She looked at Arriana with an eager-to-please expression.
"I like to travel..."
Cassidy nodded.
"I'll come. But just to look."
Lion El' Jonson
Nov 5th, 2003, 07:29:41 PM
"She likes to travel..." Lion thought, trying to keep the grin off of his face. He stopped leaning against the dumpster and walked over to Cassidy, semi-ignoring Rezner as he breezed past her.
"You like to travel? Well, I like to travel too...I must say that my journeys have never taken me to Ch'hodos..." Lion trailed off, an idea formulating in his head. He turned to Arriana, fixing a childish grin on his face.
"Can I come too? I've always liked new places."
He couldn't tell whether Cassidy wanted him along, but ultimately it was Rezner's decision...presumably it was her ship and her itinerary.

It was fine and well inviting the girl, but now this man wanted to come with them and that simply would not do. Arriana looked away a moment, jaw tightening, before she brightened her expression with a polite, apologetic smile.

Lion grinned inwardly, trying to decipher Arianna's true reasoning. Unable to find a fault, he instead smiled.
"My apologies, then. I hope you enjoy yourselves."
He turned away and started walking off of the landing pad, but as soon as he got out of view he plucked something from his belt. He guided it with the Force onto Arriana's ship. It made a tiny "clang" sound as it attached, but (hopefully) the others didn't notice it.
He walked away from the spaceport towards his speeder, satisfied, and switched on his comlink.
"Delphi?" he asked, hoping to get a member of his crew.
"Yes, sir?" came the reply. "What do you need?"
"Warm up the engines." Lion said. "We're going on a trip."

There was a feeling of urgency now with the threat of Rik's impending return, and Cassidy stood fidgeting from foot to foot. With all the grace of a twelve-year old, Cassidy took it upon herself to answer Leten.
"Aw, c'mon, don't be a spoilsport. It's just a little trip, that's all."

“Very well, then. Follow me.”
Arriana began walking without waiting for the two. He was only a boy, she reasoned silently to herself. The other had most certainly been a Jedi of some stature, but she had little reason to be concerned with the street rat.
Fairly quickly, it seemed, she located her own vessel, which had been conveniently docked close by to the one which Cassidy had originally planned to board. It was a basic freighter vessel, YT model, which looked as though it seen a number of body re-works. Beneath the most recent coat of metal-grey paint there was a logo of some sort, with the initial ‘SE’ on it.
“Here it is,” she said, pausing so that the two could get a good look at the Random Variable.
The ramp was already down, and she ushered her two passengers ahead of her, ducking to board the ship.
“By the way... I’m Arriana,” she remarked, glancing over her shoulder as the ramp began to close itself.

"...idy."
She dropped her bag uncerimoniously on the floor and put her hands on her hips in a gung-ho manner. She weighed their importance carefully, and finally decided on one as she followed Arriana closely.

Goda'Sai Spaceport
Coruscant
As Lion steered his landspeeder between the busy landing pads of Goda'Sai spaceport, the comlink nestled into the center of his dashboard clicked. A second later, a screen popped out above the center compartment, and a huge man wearing a black jumpsuit appeared.
"Chief, we're getting some activity from the bug. Might be a pre-start sequence."
Lion nodded.
"Got it. Thank you, Cypher. Start warming up the Black Dawn, we leave soon. Wake up Rayne and Kharatakh, please."
The man nodded and logged off. As the small viewscreen retracted from the center console, Lion sped on, deftly avoiding the lumbering freighters that were taking off and landing around him. A spaceport official waved his arms as if to say "slow down!", but Lion merely grinned and gunned the accelerator.

“As I said, we’re going to Ch’hodos,”
Arriana replied, as she milled about between various control panels.
“And it shouldn’t taken more than a day. If you’re lucky, you can sleep for the majority of the trick… I’d start now if you plan on that routine, however - the last couple of hours will be bumpy, as there is a fairly nasty asteroid field around the planet itself.”
She stopped suddenly, and turned to look at the two, smiling.
“There’s a kitchenette through there, you can get something to eat if you’d like. I’ll just sort out the take-off then I’ll be through.”

The trip itself passed quickly, with the group keeping themselves occupied. When Ch'hodos finally appeared on the view screen, it was clear why they called it the red planet. The whole place was a deep crimson in color, and was awash with the red light of the planets sun star. Arriana made contact with those down below, to gain clearance to land, and set the ship away through the rocky atmosphere.
"We're here," she proclaimed, smiling to herself as she gathered up what little she needed – primarily a long metallic cylinder – and stood at the door, waiting for the landing to be complete.

... There are two versions of all the words in the entire language; one is unfamiliar, the other familiar. For instance, if you met someone on the street you would say to them...
Just when she was really getting into her book, Cassidy's attention was diverted by Arriana. The girl slid off her seat and tucked her book under her arm, making sure she was composed (highly unusual for the padawan) before exiting the kitchen unit.
Cassidy poked her head around the corner to catch a glimpse out the view screen, and stood goggle-eyed.
"Ohhh..."
Well surely no one could object to her coming along now! After all, she had never before seen anything quite like the brilliantly red planet before, and weren't people always saying that it was good for children to 'broaden their horizons'? Cassidy stood rooted in spot, just staring and staring as if she couldn't get enough.
"Jingo, I can't wait to land!"
The girl looked for a minute longer and then hurried back to her bag. Arriana was already there, and the woman recieved a 100-watt smile. As she shoved her book into her luggage, the girl rambled on and on excitedly.
"I've been lots of places, sure, but nothin' ever looked like that. I'll bet it's a great place, huh?, with lots of stuff to see. I'll bet the people there are really neat, too. There are people there, right?"

*This was turning out to be an interesting mystery, one that was a lot harder then Firebird had predicted. After 12 hours of bribing and threatening he had finally gotten part of the story. Apparently a young girl who had a connection to the Jedi on the bike had left with two unknown people. Where they had gone had to forced out of a man who was half drunk, listening to what he shouldn't of been. An old name, Ch'hodos, was not on most starcharts. However it was on an old starchart that was created by the explorer who had found the planet, however it seems that the explorer had died a few days later after filing this starchart by unconfermed causes. With so little information and the planet being a long ways off, this seemed like a fools errand. But the events didn't add up, plus the tale just had a feel to it of something familar. So, Firebird1 set off for the Red Planet, wondering what awaited him there.*

"Of course. There would be no reason to come here if there weren't people," Arriana replied with a smile as she pushed a few commands into the control panel that would lower the boarding ramp. With a slow hydraulic hiss, it began to edge downwards, revealing where the ship now was. The gunmetal grey hangar was small enough for the ship alone. The roof above, which had been parted earlier to allow entrance, was now closed. Ahead, Arriana saw a figure waiting.
"Come on then," she said as she paced down the ramp towards their one-woman welcoming party. As they neared, she stopped and bowed her head in greeting and respect.

The Falling Star 2 crused through space heading toward the red planet below. As the ship did this, Firebird thought how long it had been since he had done a drop into an unknown location. It was Coursant he was attacking, just after he had joined The Sith Empire....but that was a long time ago, and he was perhaps another person....
But that debate would wait until after the mission was complete, The Falling Star 2 landed in a deserted area 12 KM away from the city. The rear door opened and out popped a speeder bike with Firebird on it, flanked by two flying tracking drones. As the trio heads for the city, the ship takes off. *The ironic thing was, he didn't know the people in question, but all the same there was no reason not to go. For once Firebird had a choice, he could stay away from the action, or find out what was going on. Once there was a third option, see what he firends knew about it. But those days were over, so simply asking for something wasn't free for anyone to give wouldn't be enough this time.
Firebird sighed as his droids returned with a distance scan of the city, showing structures like a communication center and a spaceport. Then a familar feeling through the Force hit him. Dalethria had returned as well. Even though he had been wanting to speak with her husband, this speeds things up however to a degree he didn't think it would go.
So Firebird headed for where Dalethria was, knowing that the childrens wearabouts would surely be with her. That was the important thing right now, and not the future plans that needed to change.
Firebird then commanded his droids to go about their task that they had been programmed to as spies and makers of diversions...*

Firebird smerks as the air forms into a view of a ship that wailed. "I guess I got someones attention atleast..."
*Firebird continued on, and reached the outside of the Starport. He quickly got off of his bike and started into the building where he felt that Dalethria was at, slowly and carefullly.*

Leten Whispers to Cassidy...
"Do you really want to hang out with a bunch of adults? We could go off on our own and have 100 times more fun than what we could with a bunch of grown-up's"
Dalethria Mal Pannis

"Bah..." She waved a hand, dismissing that thought, "Grown-ups know how to have fun too. How're going to know unless you find out yourselves anyway?"

:: a sandstorm kicks up in the wake of the black craft, blinding Firebird as he tries to pass it, and the shriek emanating from it now was ripping it's way into his mind ::

*Firebird stops for a minute and puts his hands to his ears, trying to block the projected sound in the sandstorm. "Yep some one doesn't want me here," Firebird thought, "Nice trick though, to bad thats all it is." Firebird then noticed that his nose was bleeding. "Ok then, it's not a trick" thought Firebird. So Firebird kept walking forward, removing his hands from his head and activates his lightsaver. He focuses on the glowing blade, providing a becon that he can follow as he heads into the building where Dale is at, and away from the mental attack.*

"Yeah, Leten, and besides, what're we gonna do on our own here?"
Cassidy looked around pointedly.
"We'd get lost or something. C'mon, this is an adventure like real Jedi have!"

"Cassidy, I grew up in the lower levels of Coruscant. I Have a very good direction sence, I know I will not get lost. Plus if we hang around with these adults they will just stop us from getting into trouble. They would be like babysitters! You really think that REAL Jedi have babysitters! Adventure is when you go off into the unknown! I myself would rather explore on my own over having a bunch of babysitters give us a tour of the borring stuff."

"You're a guy. You only think you have a good sense of direction. Besides,"
Cassidy motioned at their surroundings.
"You've never been here, I've never been here. The odds of us not gettin' skewered or lost or something are pretty low. I'm staying here. You go if you want to."

"You have nothing to fear anyway, Cassidy. "Dalethria stepped closer to the two children, moving slowly so she wouldn't startle them. "My Sisters and I know these walls like the backs of our hands. Besides, it would be rude to not take care of our guests while you stayed here."

"Look Cassidy, these people are up to no good! If you can't trust my word on it check your own Jedi sences! Can't you feel the dark energy comming from these ladies! Can't you feel the danger we are in here! Or are you just choosing to be blind to the force right now!"

*As Firebird neared the location where Dale and the two children were at he slowed down. Knowing that Dale would sense him anyways, Firebird started to speak.*
Well, well, well, what have we here? Since when did you become a babysitter? I take it that those are the children I saw at the starport on Corusant. I was wondering if you would keep them alive.

Leten suddenly found himself facing the full frustration of a teenage girl. Cassidy whipped her head to look at him and lowered her voice to an angry hiss.
"Maybe I don't care Leten! My sister was supposed to be good and she's been pretty lousy."
The girl swallowed hard.
"I don't want to have to worry anymore. I'm sick and tired of always havin' to be on gaurd. I. Don't. Care. Anymore. I feel fine here."
A new voice interupted Cassidy's hushed tangent. She clenched her jaw tightly. Why can't anything ever just go smoothly?

Leten rases his hands in surender...
"Fine! I've tryed to help you, Obvously you don't want it! You have had your warnings, so I guess for all I care you can got and shoot yourself in the foot!"
Leten looks to the others there...
"Now if anybody could tell me how I could get back to Coruscant, I'll leave the group of you to distroy this stupid girl how ever you so chose."

Dalethria sensed Cassidy's frustration and placed a hand upon her shoulder in a motherly gesture, "No worries. I'll handle this then we can have our fun."
She didn't care about Leten at this point. The brat would have to wait until she dealt with why Firebird was here. For old times sake she was willing to listen, "You're here for a reason, and I'm in no mood for the preliminary quipping back and forth. So, do please be quick about stating it."

Very well then, since this is no time for banter I'll cut to the chase. I am suprised however that the Jedi did not send out their master to come get them, and I cannot let them fall into Sorsha's hands yet, so I am at an impass here. What am I to do? I hope this won't come to a fight because I'm surely out numbered.
