I finally had a good week. Of course, it helped that I came to my senses and changed to Chicago before kickoff, and that the Packers actually came through for me in the Dreaded Metrodome of Evil.

I would have tied you if I hadn't chickened out and took the Raiders, I had the Lions picked until an hour before kickoff and changed it and of course Detroit wins. Man Oakland is bad, if they can't beat the Lions they will be lucky to win another game this year. And what about Tampa what is going on with them, if they continue this they might not make the playoffs.

Tampa will still likely make the playoffs, but perhaps as a wild card instead of a division winner. With Green Bay beating Minnesota this evening, the entire NFC becomes a big jumble. Four 6-2 teams, two 5-3 teams, and two 4-4 teams. No one is pulling away from the rest of the conference. If one of those 4-4 teams, or even the two 4-5 teams, gets hot and starts to play well, they could very quickly find themselves on the top of the heap.
November is going to be a very, very intriguing month for the entire league.

This is rather bizzare, as well as scary...
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=1652436
I watched a good portion of that game today, and there was nothing said on the telecast, as least that I know of. One would think it would tough to miss somebody falling from an upper level onto the field.

What a dismal week. The worst I've ever had in this pool. I had picked the Niners, but switched once I heard they were hurting at QB.
And what about Carolina? They're terrible for a 6-2 team. Yes, it's a good record, but they've taken 2 silly losses now.

The NFC is going to be like the AFC last season, there are so many teams that have chances at the playoffs its unreal. The AFC you have one 8-0 team, two 6-2 teams, 3 5-3 teams, 1 4-4 team, with everyone else 3-5 or worse. The way it looks like right now Baltimore and Kansas City should easily win their divisions. New England and Miami will be fighting for theirs with the loser fighting it out with Denver for the last playoff spot. I think Tennessee and Indy should both make the playoffs.

The way it looks now The Pats are going to take the East, although my Fish aren't done yet. But if it came down to The Dolphins vs Broncos for the wildcard....I have no doubt Miami will win that one, regardless of venue.
Jedi Master Carr
Nov 3rd, 2003, 01:00:41 PM
Yeah I think the Broncos are going south I don't see them making the playoffs with the injuries they are having. I think the AFC is going to be very predictable this year. I bet the AFC championship game will be Chiefs vs Colts.

So much for last week, eh? I knew as soon as I picked against my 9ers that they would win! :grumble

I am catching up maybe I can make a second half break for it :)
Also that was a great game wasn't one of the best we have had on Monday night. And poor Denver things aren't going well for them. Since every team has played 8 games this right now is my opinion on the best five teams
Kansas City
Indy
Tennessee
New England
Minnesota
Right now the 4 of the best teams are in the AFC, heck besides Carolina and Minnesota I say Miami is better than the rest of the NFC. The NFC sure looks weak this year.

What a train wreck this week was for me. Thank goodness New England came back. Even though I wouldn't have been heartbroken if they had lost; now they're 2 up on the Dolphins.
Danny Kanell played a great game for a 3rd stringer, the Broncos had no right to expect that type of performance from him and they completely wasted it.

He played okay but he made some bad throws there at the end of the game and he couldn't get them a first down which was very important.

This blows. I meant to pick Chicago, but for some reason I cut and pasted an older version of my picks. Oh well, this week was a disaster anyway.
I think Shanahan's play calling lost the game last night. Throwing on 1st down at the 4 minute mark after Portis had broken some decent runs stopped the clock and killed their drive. If they'd kept running on 1st and 2nd they could have forced the Pats to use a timeout and kept their drive alive.

Our little fantasy football league is serving to completely tick me off. I have the highest scoring team in the league, and I'm 3-4-1. I keep getting the others' best weeks against everyone I face. I can't help but feel that I'm getting completely screwed. I mean, I end up with, of all things, a TIE game, and this week, I scored 86 points and got beaten by half a point. :verymad

My nephews do the fantasy football thing - I have no idea where they do it out of - and while I pretty much understand how it works, its still a bit confusing. :\

Sorry about that Figrin, going into the MN game I didn't think I had much of a shot but Vinatieri and Harrison both got some decent points for me.
I'm pretty much in the same boat though, my scoring is right up there and I'm right around .500 as well. I've won 3 straight but this is typically where the bottom falls out for me.

Its the same for me, I score at least 60 points a game and am only 5-4. The #1 team is some Amish Rake Fight who is that anyway?
Ryan Pode
Nov 6th, 2003, 12:10:58 AM
Amish is Kas... he doesn't post here much.
