Actually, any media payer help...Ok, here's the situation:

I downloaded a Final Fantasy cutscene, and also wantt o watch soem video files my g/f gave me on a CD (Love Hina). Well, all of them are .AVI file extensions. The media players only give me the audio of the file, if that. And, yet, at my g/f's house, they work, video and everything. On WMP, it gives me something along the lines of:

"Searching for Codec"
"Located Codec"
"Downloading Codec"

But then it doesn't do anything except play the sound. I've tried this on every player on my computer (IfranView, WMP, Winamp [it's an older winamp, though], Realplayer, Qukctime). A little help would be much appreciated!

Download DivX 5.1

http://www.divx.com/divx/

You'll get the most recent DivX codecs.

Download the DefilerPak (http://hellninjacommando.com/defilerpak/) and ffdshow (http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/ffdshow/dsp2dshow-20020930.exe?download) and you'll be able to play pretty much any movie under the sun.

I thought DefilerPak included ffdshow.....maybe I'm wrong, but all I've ever done is update DefilerPak and movies always work for me.

Wasn't sure, it's been a while since I've had to re-install it. So I posted both just to be safe.
