Since jjwr's post was made first, the one Figrin started gets placed as the second post. At least that's how I think it works. I'll change the title of the thread though.

I'm switching my Denver pick. You'd think that Baltimore will stack up against the run and force Denver to throw. Boller is the key. Denver has one of the better defenses in the league and they can make Baltimore's offense look wretched. If Baltimore can run the ball enough to get some pressure off their rookie QB then they should be able to win at home. Should....:huh

For those picking Denver they are on to QB #4, Jackson, a guy they just signed. Danny Kanell has the flu and probably can't play at all (in some ways that might be a good thing :p) But Jackson hasn't taken snaps with the team and if he gets hurt their backup will be WR Rod Smith. Man Denver is sure in a mess at QB.

Ace, if you could post a link to your picks I'm sure we could verify you made them on time. I sure wouldn't have any problem with letting them count if you got them in on time. :)

I'm just speaking for myself! Figrin and the other players have to okay it.

Damn, the Jets could have won today. Pennington played okay considering how much time he's missed, but he was rusty and that last pic cost them the game. If Vinny had been allowed to start the second half I think the Jets would have pulled it out. And I would have made up 4 games on the Demon. :cry

Is Kansas City the best team or not?? They are the only unbeaten team now. They just killed the Bills 38-5 and looked awesome today, one of the best games they have played all year, IMO. They weren't lucky this time :)

JMK
Oct 26th, 2003, 10:51:28 PM
I can't believe the soft schedule they have for their next 8 games. I can't remember the order, but I know they play the Lions, Chargers, Bears, Browns, Raiders and Bengals. That should be 6 wins for sure whether they're on the road or not. Of course I'm assuming they stay healthy.

The only real teams they play are the Vikings and Broncos, who seem to have lost their way, even though they've lost their top 2 QB's.

Can they make a run at 16-0?? Rival my beloved Dolphins? :eek

Jedi Master Carr
Oct 26th, 2003, 10:57:19 PM
I don't even want to think about that. 16-0 is hard, I am certain they will be 13-3 to 15-1. The bye at the half way point will help it will help them get healthy, IMO and it is just perfect timing.

Yeah... regarding this...

I'm inclined to stick to the rules, simply because if we were to let this one go, then it allows others to raise the same question if they are late with their picks.

The rest of the participants can vote on it, and if they decide to allow it, then I'll count the reposted picks. However, I'd like to see a link to the thread on this other message board at which you made the picks, rather than a copy & paste of the raw info.

I may not get to the totals yet tonight, so I'll probably just wait until after MNF to post all the results for the week.

As a quick note, the location of the Monday Night game has been changed by the league. Because of the fires in southern California, Qualcomm Stadium is being used by the city of San Diego as an evacuation point for those in several surrounding neighborhoods. So, the commissioner's office has moved the game to Sun Devil Stadium in Phoenix, Arizona.

Because of the change, I think it's fair to allow participants to change their Monday Night pick if they wish. I know it may seem like a trivial thing in terms of the game itself, but it does constitute an "unusual circumstance." So, if anyone wants to change their Monday Night Football pick, please do so in a NEW REPLY. Do not edit your original picks posts.

I think it would hurt the Chargers the most, you are looking at half empty stadium on neutral turf. Can't see it helping them at all.

I agree. I have no problem with letting someone provide a link to their picks on another site if they were late in getting theirs in here. However I think there should be proof that the picks were made on time and not tampered with at all. :)

Uh well its a private website. I could download the HTML file and attach it but Its not that important to me. Im already behind by a few weeks anyway.

But I'm just gonna pick monday night and could you just count that as a win or loss and just ignore the others?

I pick Miami if so.

The Dolphins have a big home game against the Colts next week. If they start Griese, I'm going with the Fins. But if they give Fiedler his job back I'll dump them in a heartbeat. The Chargers are getting dominated right now. You have to feel for LT. He's having a great year, but that defense blows and Briese isn't setting the world on fire.

Figrin D'an
Oct 27th, 2003, 09:41:21 PM
The Colts are playing pretty well right now... that will be a fun matchup, the Colts offense against Miami's D.

And it's Brees. Drew Brees. :mneh

LT actually isn't having as solid a year as he did last year. I blame the front office and Schottenheimer for the problems their having. They have good offensive personnel, but they dumped all their veterans on defense, and the playcalling has been attrocious this season. John Butler was what made that team go, and the absence of his leadership is showing through big time.

JMK
Oct 27th, 2003, 11:22:13 PM
Griese should have been player of the game. 3 TD passes in your first start since December '02. I think Feebler may have lost his starting job for the time being. But I'm also willing to bet that the Dolphins say that he's starting vs the Colts because Jay's knee isn't 100%. I'm glad the switch was finally made though. Griese ended with a 121 rating and no interceptions. That's good enough for me. :)

Yay 2nd place!

About the Chiefs, no other team has exactly stood above the rest so until the chiefs lose its hard to say they're not the best. As for 16-0, I doubt it.

A few of their games have been very close and only won by a kick-off or punt return, those kind of breaks are hard to get all the time and one of these weeks one will go against them and they'll lose.

I'm really psyched for the Patriots though, at 6-2 with all of their injuries is incredible. Next Monday night they play at Denver with Danny Kannel, unless Portis really goes off I can't see Kanell beating the Pats Defense. Course if the offense doesn't wake up that may cost them.

But if they win they'll be 7-2 going into their bye week which should allow even more injured players to return.

Well I think the Chiefs are getting better but I rather them not go 16-0 because they need to be resting players the last week (if they wrap homefield before then) not wasting them trying to get that record. 15-1 or 14-2 would be fine with me :) Yeah and I hope the Patriots beat Denver it would put them 4 games back of the Chiefs and almost out of that race and maybe have little chance at the playoffs. Speaking of that in the AFC it doesn't look as competive this year you have 5-2 NE, 5-2 Miami in the East Baltimore is 4-3 with Cincinnati the closest team to them at 3-4, Indy is 6-1 with Tennessee 5-2, and you have the Chiefs at 8-0 with Denver at 5-3. Buffalo is the only other team at .500. Sure I guess some teams like Pittsburg, the Jets, and Raiders could come back and make some noise but right now none of those three teams look any good and Cleveland, San Diego, Houston and Jacksonville all look awful and aren't going anywhere. Of course I think the NFC is going to be insane it is a lot closer over there.
