[I]His grip sliped from the beasts flesh as he gloves dug into its scaley flesh. Its massives wings cut through the night as the screech of its crys chilled the animals below. She was an injured thing, dying in its last moments of burden, but loyal to his command all the same.

Tightening his thick fingers around the bulge of knoby flesh about its neck he yanked back hard, signaling for the thing to climb higher into the sky, yet the next shrill cry proved how incabable the monster was as she shank lower into the horizon. A blaze in his eyes signaled the range finder of his suits helmet, a small targeting sensor locating and locking on to the sole settlement on the satilite.

It had been their defenses that had done this, not that he was concerned, such beasts were ment to be used as such. There were many more in the galaxy, as their would be tommorow and the day after. This one would mean nothing. He had need to make contact inside the cities defenses, they had fired upon him on is first pass, he suspected more towards the native beast he had taken for his business than himself. Eitherway, the whole buisness had made him feel... unwanted.

Thats how he enjoyed it....

It wasnt too often that the units stationed on the perimeter of the city had any 'questions' about what to do as far as things trying to get in the city. Thats why Silus was surprised when he was summoned to the palace conference room about a beast trying to fly into the city.

The process was usually fairly simple, just shoot at it until it dies or goes away. As quickly as he could get his boots on, Silus made his way to the conference room. The holotransmitter was already on and waiting for him.

"What?" he questioned as he stepped onto the platform.

"A beast tried to pass over the city a few minutes ago. We shot it, and we thought it was going to fly away...Now its coming back" The soldier on the other end replied.

Silus' eyes narrowed slightly. These guys were starting to sound like stormtroopers....

"So? Kill it."

"But sir, it looks like it has a person riding it..."

Silus paused for a moment. This was indeed strange...

"You're right Soldier, this changes everything......Kill it anyways."

"Yes Sir."

Just as casually as he had walked in, Silus was now walking away. This time however, he wasnt heading back to his room. Instead, he headed out of the palace and to his personal airspeeder. There was now a chance that when the wall defenses killed this thing, it would land inside the city, and if there really was a person riding it, then Silus felt like he should examine things personally.

It wouldnt take long for him to get to the outer wall of the city, especially the way Silus drove. Meanwhile, the wall defenses turned their attention back to the beast and began firing shots at it in tandem. Whoever got the kill shot would have their dinner paid for by the other soldiers that were firing, so each of them shot with a fervor that some people had never even seen.
