First Impressions: An Owls Flight (Leten, his roommate)

[Poledra]

*Poledra, a snowy owl, companion to Natia flies into Letens room through his open window. She lands gracefully on his bedside table and hoots softly as she looks around the room for Leten.*

[Leten Snat]

Leten is off in the corner of his room digging through a pile of salvage(Aka. Junk). He is so intent on his garbage pile that he doesn't even notice the Owl

[Poledra]

*Poledra, if it were possible for an owl to look hurt, would. She hoots again, this time rather loudly, trying to get Leten's attention*

[Leten Snat]

Leten looks up when he hears the hoot this time. He looks over to his bedside table to see that he has an owl sitting there...

"Umm... Hi." Leten says, not even knowing what it is.

[Poledra]

*Poledra again hoots, but softer this time as she spreads her wings and gracefully flys over to Leten and lands on his junk pile*

[Leten Snat]

Leten looks at the owl with that of confusion..

"Can I help you? If you want any of my salvage, this stuff is mine, and there is plenty more of this stuff in the lower levels.."

[Poledra]

*Poledra hoots, shaking her owl head slightly as she hops down off the salvage and closer to Leten. She hoots again looking at Leten with her big owl eyes*

[Leten Snat]

"So you don't want my salvage? Then If you don't want my salvage then who are you, what are you and, what do you want.."

Leten really doesn't know what to make of the Owl

[Poledra]

*Poledra, instead of replying to any of Leten's questions, just starts to preen her feathers, hooting occasionally*

[Leten Snat]

"Umm... Why are you here? What are you?"

Leten asks as he looks over Poledra

[Poledra]

*Poledra looks up at Leten and hoots before spreading her wings and flying over to his night table where she lands and continues to preen her feathers*

[Leten Snat]

Leten goes over and sits on his bed neat the owl nad carefuly move to pet Poledra's back...

"You do look beautiful... but only half as beautiful as Natia"

[Poledra]

*Poledra continues to preen her feathers as Leten goes to pet her back, though when he mentions Natia's name, she looks at him and hoots softly once, and then hoots louder then before*

[Leten Snat]

Leten smiles and continues to pet Poledra....

"Do you know Natia?"

[Poledra]

*Poledra hoots twice and bobs her head up and down to say yes, she knows Natia*

[Leten Snat]

Leten smiles, still petting the bird...

"She is a wonderful lady... Would you agree?"

[Poledra]

*Poledra hoots twice in agreement and nudges Leten's hand with her head as he pauses in his petting*

[Leten Snat]

Leten smiles

"I wonder what she is doing right now...."

Leten then feels the nudge on his hand, and gets back to petting the bird.

"I see even the animals like her.... Is she a friend of yours?"

*Natia had woken up late today, and then lazed around for awhile, thinking of Leten. When she gets up, she notices that Poledra isn't in sight, but isn't to worried about her since she is a free bird after all.

Dressed in a light blue dress, she makes her way to Leten's room where she knocks on the door, hoping Leten's in*

[Leten Snat]

Leten gets up from petting Poledra and walks over to the door. He opens the door and is suprised to see Natia

"Oh! Hi Natia! I was just talking about you... Come on in!"

*Natia smiles at Leten when he opens the door and she walks in*

You were??

Have you seen Pol around here?? She's my companion and she took off without letting me know she was going.

**Poledra keeps silent as Natia walks in**

[Leten Snat]

"Yaha, I was talking to that fluffy feathery thing on my bed side table. It seems to know you."

Leten give Natia a questioning glance..

"What does this poll look like?"

*Natia tilts her head slightly at Leten's description of Poledra. It is then that she sees Pol and shakes her head*

It's Pol, not poll. And that owl that you were talking to is Poledra, or Pol for short.

**Poledra hoots softly and goes back to preening her feathers**

It looks like Pol wanted to come and check you out in private.

[Leten Snat]

Leten nods....

"is that good or bad that she wanted to come and check me out in private?"

It depends on what she has found out about you and what sort of things you were saying. But judging from the way she's holding herself, I'd say it's a good thing.

[Leten Snat]

"Oh... Okay....Umm.. Would you like a seet?"

Leten says as he motions to the bed.

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

*Natia smiles and sits down on Leten's bed*

I'd love a seat and I'll leave the bed when I leave.

**Pol hoots and hops onto the bed from the night table**

[Leten Snat]

Leten sits on his bed with Natia, alittle confused with her last comment....

"I don't understand what you are getting at. Could you explane what you meen?"

Leten starts to pet Poledra again.

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

Never mind. I'm just trying to pull your leg. When you offered me a seat, even though I knew you ment for me to sit on, I went with I'll take one with me when I go. Not that I really would unless you were there on it.

*Natia smiles at Leten*

[Leten Snat]

"Why would you take the seat if I was sitting on it?"

Leten is not really confused...

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

*Natia gets an impish smile on her face*

To get it so that we have to share a seat.

[Leten Snat]

Leten is still confused...

"But than one of us would have to sit on the floor, if you made it so there was only one place to sit."

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

No, one of us would have to sit on the others lap, causing us to be close together which otherwise we may not be.

*Natia hopes to unconfuse Leten*

[Leten Snat]

"Oh....OOOOHHHH!!!"

Leten goes silent, and starts to blush.

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

*Natia smiles at Leten's reaction when it is obvious that he is no longer confused*

You know Leten, it's easy to get you to blush.

[Leten Snat]

"No it isn't!"

Leten hids his face and blushes even more.

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

Yes it is and just the simple fact of saying that you're blushing causes you to blush even more.

[Leten Snat]

Leten continues to hid the fact he is blushing..

"No it dosen't! I'm not blushing!"

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

*Natia decides to be nice and change the subject*

So, what do you think of Poledra??

**Poledra at this points hoots again softly, as if anxious to hear what Leten has to say**

[Leten Snat]

Leten looks at the owl

"I'm not sure what to think... I've never seen anything like her before... but she is beautiful... alot like you Natia."

*Natia blushes slightly at the compliment that she's given*

**Poledra hoots a couple of times**

And Pol says thanx as well.

[Leten Snat]

"I'm only saying the truth..." :)

That may be so, but not many outside of family speak those words to me, or Pol for that matter.

[Leten Snat]

"Then most people must be blind, or afraid to speek the truth."

Or they aren't given the chance because with most ppl, I'm straight to business. I do what I must in order to get things done.

[Leten Snat]

"Then what makes me diffrent?"

Well for starters, you're a friend and I always make time to be with friends.

Second, Pol likes you.

[Leten Snat]

"Is the rare for poledra to like people?"

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

It's rare for her to like ppl as much as she likes you. She actually came into your room and didn't attack you.

[Leten Snat]

"why would she attack people?"

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

Because she doesn't like them or she believes them to be a major threat to me. Or it could be some other reason she hasn't chosen to share with me.

[Leten Snat]

Something click in Leten's brain...

"So... Are you implying that you can understand what she says? It only sounds like hooting to me."

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

Yes I can understand what she says. I've been able to understand her since before she started accompying me. It's one of the Force abilities I have. Just like I can hide in shadows and no one can see me.

[Leten Snat]

"Well I can hide rather well..."

Leten roles off the bed out of sight on the other side. When Natia goes to looks she only sees a pile of rubble, but still sences Leten's presence.

Interesting. I'd almost say that you can do the same thing as me, though I can still sense you here. With a bit of learning, you'll be able to hide your Force presence so that Force Users will have a harder time locating you.

[Leten Snat]

"I don't really know how I do this. I just seem to do it." He says as it looks like the pile of rubble starts to crawl along the side of the bed.

Seems to me that you have a natural ability to hide and disguise yourself. That can be very handy in a difficult situation. But it must not be abused.

[Leten Snat]

Leten stops trying to hide, stands up an goes back to sitting on the bed.

"I think it's helped me in the past, but I really don't know when I'm doing it. I just try not to be seen, and people tend to not see me."

Well, you'll learn how to do that conciously. I learned how to hide with shadows.

[Leten Snat]

Leten nods

"I know. Xazor said that I'm using ilusions to hide myself, but How can I be using them If I don't even know what they are?"

I've been understanding animals since I was a small child. I thought that it was natural for everyone to understand them. Then when I started getting training, I found out that it's not natural and that it's one of my powers.

Sometimes when a person is particularly strong in a certain ability, then they use it without even knowing how they do it.

[Leten Snat]

Leten smiles and hangs his head.

"I'm not strong. I can hardly lift mannuvering fin of a snub-fighter without a hoverlift."

I know I couldn't lift a manuvering fin of a snubfighter without a hoverlift without using the Force. And a person can be strong without knowing it. It's just sometimes it comes to light in a given circumstance.

Physically, I'm not strong, but mentally I am.

[Leten Snat]

Leten looks confused ...

"what do you meen by mentaly strong?"

Well, my mental abilities, like hiding in shadows and talking with animals are strong. That and I am more mature mentally then I am physically.

[Leten Snat]

"But how does that make you strong?"

[Poledra]

*Poledra hoots softly, demanding attention again since Leten has stopped giving it*

**Natia smiles and shakes her head. "It's all a matter of how you look at things. The fact that I am more mature mentally says that I understand more things in life. The fact that I have some interesting skills also makes it so that I am strong mentally"**

[Leten Snat]

Leten shrugs slightly...

"okay... Whatever."

Leten then goes back to petting Poledra

Leten smiles...

"It seems more like she like me. I just don't like to disipoint people."

So, why do you refer to Pol as a person??

*Natia questions softly, curious of Leten's answer*

[Leten Snat]

"In my books, All intelgent creatures are people. To not refer to her as a person would be the same as saying that an Hutt was not a person, because they were not a humanoid."

So you're saying that Pol is intellegient. Why??

*Natia questions curiously, a smile on her face. She herself does belief Pol to be intellegient*

[Leten Snat]

"Because she has proven that she understands a languauge that is not her native langanuge, and is able to communicate to some extent with others not of her spieces. For a Wild creature to do that is proof that she is intellegient."

Well, I'm happy you believe her to be intellegient because she is. And like you said, for a wild creature to do what she does is definately proof that she's intellegient.

[Leten Snat]

Leten gently hugs Poledra and goes back to petting her

"She is also almost as beautiful as you are."

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

On that I must disagree Leten. She's more beautiful then I am because she has the natural grace of a wild creature, something I shall never achieve, no matter how much I know of them.

[Leten Snat]

Leten smiles as he looks over Natia.

"Well in my point of view, you are a little more beautiful than Poledra"

But that is your point of view, and there are those out there that agree with your point of view, but then again, there are those out there that will disagree with it.

[Leten Snat]

"Yes, I know that. But to me all that matter about the things I see, is my perseptiion."

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

And that's a good way to look at things, but sometimes it can cause you harm though. But not in this.

[Leten Snat]

Leten gets a questioning look on his face...

"How could it bring me harm? It shouldn't matter what other people think I think."

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

That is true, but there are those out there that are willing to beat their opinions into those that don't have the same opinion as they do.

[Leten Snat]

"If they try I will just run and hide before they get the chance."

[imported_Natia Telcontar]

But that doesn't always work. What would you do if running and hiding didn't work??

[Leten Snat]

Then I would find the safest place to fight from.

*Natia says nothing more as she looks at Leten, a smile on her face. At this point, Poledra hoots again and Natia shoots her a look*

Poledra, be nice.

[Leten Snat]

Leten goes back to petting Poledra...

"She sure is demanding... isn't she?"
