Hmm.. I cant rate topics yet. Database says I have when retrying, but no change occur in the rating column

It takes at least two votes for a rating to change from none to something on the thread listing.

The error you get when re-trying is a prevention from voting multiple times.

You're right!

Yeah, I know about why there is an error message, I was just wondering why no change occured on allready rated topics. But after further investigation, it seems to be working after all. Its just that topics with many submitted ratings do not change so easily because of the average score. I gave a 1 star topic 5 stars, and now its a 2.

I was jumping to conclusion too fast. Rating feature works perfectly. Move along, move along.. :)

Yup, You can see how many times a topic has been rated and the exact average by viewing the alt text of the rating image in the thread listing. This topic for instance has alt text for the rating image of "2 votes - 3.00 average"
